I have this item, and i have no idea what it is for. Maybe it is for more content in the future because i can not see any word on the quest on any site. It is not for the Reward quests either, Because they have coloured idols not the idol of Blah

There is an idol of the sun for the classes that cannot use this one. If they are used to make the "tier 3" epics I have to get me one as soon as possible.

aq40 sets aren't tier3, just different stats for different situations. This is one of the quest items for some of the class pieces for the aq40 sets.

HOW TO AQUIRE: TIER 2.5 CHEST

Gain Honored reputation status with The Brood of Nozdormu.
Accept your class quest from Vethsera inside The Temple Ahn'Qiraj (AQ40). She's located in a side room just beyond The Prophet Skeram.
Kill C'Thun and loot the Qiraji token: Husk of the Old God.
Collect the right amount/type of Idols and Scarabs needed, either buy them from the auction house or loot from trash / Large Scarab Coffers.
Complete the quest!

Kill Viscidus / Princess Huhuran and loot the Qiraji token: Qiraji Bindings of Dominance.
Collect the right amount/type of Idols and Scarabs needed, either buy them from the auction house or loot from trash / Large Scarab Coffers.
Complete the quest!
