You have to finish the "Are We There, Yeti?" quests first, then when you finish the scaring quest, she'll give you another 'quest' and you'll learn how to make this. I got this with only 265 engineering at lvl 56 though, as goblin engineer.

If you complete the quest without having Engineering, or you complete it with low level Engineering, can you get the schematic later?

good to sell around christmas time (toy maker lfw, blah blah blah on trade channel), ive sold 5 for 75-100g each, including gift wrapping, lol.
the mats are farmable if you're a miner as well like me.
the only thing i had to buy off of ah was the leather, i managed to get a stack for 10g.
so its profitable, for special occasions.

I had a horde friend of mine grind me out alot of Ice Thistle for this to sell on alliance side. Took me about 25-30 for the mats and I sold 4 of them for 100g, kept the first one for myself.

I got mine after the patch came out...my friend told me he got the pattern and just needed a few mats to make one for me...so did it and i got it...kind of stupid (not the sellers who profit from this)...to buy it for 100g...beginning to become like those rare whelps we all would love to have...

I believe you need to be level 55+ too to get the engineering recipe. Can't get it at 54 having completed the quest line and have 281 Engineering.

after I tried to make two of these, I found out it's marked as unique. which means you can only have one on your character at one time (bank, or bags). So once i actually use the yeti with that character, I can never make another? I guess my main can never have a yeti pet.

I could not get quest/recipe with 275 skill / lvl 54
Could with 300 skill/lvl 55 though.

So I am not sure which one is it.

Did the whole quest line at 53 with 272 eng skill hoping for the schematic... kinda pissed me off when I found out that I have to wait to learn it. Has anyone confiremed the requirements for the schematic? Is it lvl 55 or is it 300 eng, or both?

Cost me 20g to get all the mats, its easy to get and took about 1 hour of grinding... All you gotta do for the last part is to scare the 3 people and then hand it in, if your a 300 engineer (like me) she will give you another quest which you instantly complete and she teaches you how to make this.

The requirement is level 55+, not 300 eng. I got the pattern from her with skill 267, so maybe you only need skill 250.

I didnt read all the posts, but I saw a lot of people asking how and where to get this. You get the the schematic for free after completing the quest line, I don't remember if its bop, I almost think you dont even recieve the schematic, you just learn it. And for the requirements, level 55+ is all you need

I am a level 55 UD rogue with eng at 244, but cannot get the schematic. So there must be an eng requirement. Does anyone know for sure what it is?

She taught me how to make it at level 58, only 261 engineering.

Above comment is correct. Once you complete the chain, talk the quest giver again, they'll teach you how to make the item... granted to meet the level and engineering level requirements.

ive already done the quest chain and gotten and learned the tranquil yeti schematic. ive specced for goblin engineering but i want to undo that and go gnome engineering. if i do this, do i forever lose the ability to make tranquil yetis, as i will have to redo engineering from scratch?

1)do the "are we there yeti" quest in Winterspring. (the WHOLE line).

2if you are an engineer the NPC will just TEACH this too you. (once the above quest line is complete) Notice there is no 'schematic' icon anywhere on this page near the top.

3)there seems to be a discrepency over the engineering lev and char lev required to do this, but I'm sure if it wasn't available to you at first, (and you have done the quest) you can simply just raise your Eng. lev and come back.

4)if there are any doubts about this quest, it CAN BE RESET by a GM for you if you feel you need to redo it.

5)so if you change your engineering specialization, you just need to have a GM reset this quest so you can do it again.

I am lvl70 rogue i think i done the q WHEN i wasn't engineer.I learned Engineering at lvl 70 and done that quest at lvl 58 i guess...
My question is will i be able just to learn the shematic since i done the q line before ?

I just got though saying there IS NO SCHEMATIC and the very next post after mine says 'how do you get the schematic' OMG...

I did the quest line already too..but I'm omw back to see if I can get the ABILITY TO LEARN it straight from the NPC.

I just did it.. I went to her (currently lev 70) and although she didn't have any ! over her head, she had a quest called "a yeti of your own" and all you do is click complete, and she teaches it to you. No schematic involved.

It says it binds when used (of course) but I heard once that it was unique, so if you wanted to sell one you had to sell yours to a vendor and then make a second to sell or give away, and then buy yours back from a vendor. I didn't see that it said unique but I will try to make one and see what happens.

Crafted my first Yeti today. I added up the cost to make one. The mats consist of:

-Cured Rugged Hide x1.
Stormrage Horde AH for 67.00

-Thorium Widget x4.
Although you can make a Yeti at lvl 250, you must be lvl 260 to make a Thorium Widget. I cheated and bought mine from the AH. Bear in mind there was only one selection of 10 costing 17.46.50, making a single widget cost 1.74.65 making a grand total of 6.96.60.

-Globe of Water x2
AH 1.25.00 each

-Truesilver Transformer x2
Yet another item you can't make until lvl 260. Also, I found none available in the AH. Luckily I am lvl 260 and made these myself. You will need 2x truesilver bars, 2x Elemental Earth & 1x Elemental Air. I am a miner and had the truesilver, so that was free. Elemental Earth & Air I bought in the AH, the Earth cost 78.40 each & the Air cost 50.00

-Gold Power Core x1
I had a spare one so that was free.

When I added it all up it cost me just under 14 Gold to make 1 Yeti. I figure if I add on the free items I had spare it would have cost me around 15-16 Gold. On average Yeti's sell from 69-95 Gold, so not a bad profit margin really. It's about time Engineering payed off, so far it has cost me a fortune! Hope this helps!

I did this quest chain when my crafting profession was Blacksmithing; I have long since changed to engineering. I happened to be in Wintersping and noticed that I could indeed now learn the pattern to craft the Tranquil Mechanical Yeti.

what? this is it? i was hoping for a FIGHTING YETI when i read about the eng quest being added, like dragons/chicken. but its just another worthless follow pet. thanks for nothing again blizzard. i actualy thought that the fighting yeti pet from quest was gunna be makeable now, guess not... even with charges... it would be worth it over this... this is another cruel joke from blizzard. "lets have a little more fun with them shall we, lets give them the thought that we're adding something usefull, then let them find out that its useless, muwhaha"

This is just a pet. It looks like a mechanical Yeti, but it just follows you around.

LAME! Come on, how about something for the Eng Blizz?

It's unique too...so to make one for your friend you have to sell yours to the vendor (buy it back of course)

no i think the best proof that blizzard favors horde is, that they built up their cities total crappy, that the horde even did exist later than the alliance. Or maybe that the main city of the alliance is almost near Blackrock while the main horde city orgrimmar lies on the other ass of the world.oh an dwarf priests are also a very good proof that blizzard favors horde..really grim how blizzard favors horde

So, the one (almost) Horde only pet has been changed for both factions in the new patch. Think if Horde members whine enough we can get them to change the Prairie Chicken and the Sprite Darter Hatchling too?

Actually, you have to be an engineer to get the plans. After you complete the "Are we there, Yeti?" quest out of Winterspring, go back to that same npc and she should have an "!" above her head. Click on it, she will ask you if you want to learn how to make one, accept and--voila! You can make your own tranquil mechanical yeti. You will only get the yellow "!" if you are an engineer and high enough level. I don't know what the level is as I was at 343 when I learned the plans. Note:: These are unique items. You can only have 1 at a time in your bank/bags. If you plan on selling them, do not bind one to yourself. A possible way around this ( I have not tried it so not sure if it works) but you could sell your pet yeti to a vendor, hurry and make a new one, put it up at the AH, then go back and purchase back your pet from the vendor you sold it to. That *might* work. Not positive though.
