If you are in a guild that does MC, a Mageblade might be a better option. Except for a big difference of crit vs hit, they are mostly the same.

Very good for Frost mages combined with the offhand from AV or AQ20 (Moam) this sword is very good.

You need get exalted with Cenarion Hold to get this sword and it requires an epic bind-on-pickup item from AQ20.

It's a very nice 1 hander, comparable to Azuresong Mageblade in most respects. However, I'll let you know that there are a few quest rewards that may not make this item worth much post level 60/61.

This is actually slightly better than the mageblade, but i would not recommend going for it, if you already have the mage blade. Unless ofcourse you feel like spending alot of gold on a new Spell Damage enchant.

The difference is minimal, better stats, and ofcourse hit vs. crit. Hit is slightly better though, since you have to hit, before you're able to crit :).

Screw both this and the Mageblade. Go PVP for a while and get the High Warlord's Spellblade/Grand Marshall's Mageblade

This item is obtained through a quest in Cenarion Circle. It is for mages and requires exalted reputation. A fairly good weapon for a mage but there are others that are better.

This item is quested, not dropped.
It works in the same fashion as zul'gurub set items...
you need scarabs (coins), idols (bijou) and "quiraji" items. The first two will be dropped by trash mobs and various chests spawned in AQ 20, the latter drop from bosses.

Thats a list of what is needed for each item and each class. Each class gets three items, a ring at honored reputation, a cape at revered, and a weapon at exalted.

There are various ways to get cenarion circle reputation:

- do quests from moonglade
- kill twilight cultist mobs
- kill abyssal mobs, templars dukes and lords
- turn in twilight encrypted texts, abyssal crests/signets/scepters.
- after the gates open on your server, some quests named "field duty" will be unlocked. I don't know for sure, but i believe they will give Cenarion reputation too.
- kill stuff in AQ.

well what he means has nothing to do its just a battlemage refers to a mage using a more batlle wise weapon ie sword over the tradionalist staff (this is all rp-ing though so you are correct that there is no such thing called a Battlemage)

If you read http://forums-en.wow-europe.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-blizzard-archive-en&t=15&p=1&tmp=1#post15 carefully and you have spellcrits that do double damage you will see that both stats (hit and crit) both give the same amount of damage plus as long as you do not hit the 100% for 2 hit. As this is +6% 2hit (94%2hit) for lvl 62 Mobs this is the percentage where I draw the line for 2hit and go for crit to not loose damage.

Well, chance to hit is better than chance to crit if you play on a PvE server. Your base hit rate is 96% on a level60 mob, but even lower on a boss (which count as level62-63). No point in critting a miss right? First you gotta hit the target, then worry about crit. Chances are that if you swap between your mageblade and this and do some tests, you will see that your total dps is higher with this sword. Chance to Hit is here to stay!

Also this sword is better statwise than mageblade, but only by a small margin. I'd definitely go for this over the mageblade!

Azuresong is better, though not much. (although i do think Spell Hit is the stupidest stat ever)

i hope there is a better caster sword somewhere in AQ

This thing is better than Azuresong. Slightly higher stats, and in PvP, you need to have at least 3% hit in your gear anyways, and this one gives that 1%. I also like the model more. Nothing beats Bloodcaller in the looks department though ;).

Why does the mage set have 76 dmg 1 hit 1 crit on it,
while warlock set has 91 dmg 1 hit 1 crit ?
