U can hand them in at eg. Thunder Bluff for reputation there. but asradiantlf said, i dont think u can get these anymore. =/

The gates of AQ where not opened for a fair time after BC was released on my server, thus these people still had their uses.

This is the reward you get for turning in supplies to fuel the AQ world event.

You get reputation with certain factions for turning these in. or another supply box with random greens + scrolls.

10x Signets can be traded for:

75 rep with either Orgrimmar, Thunder Bluff, Undercity, or Darkspear Trolls
AND
a War effort crate, that has a random item that is almost always green (got one white, and several people have gotten blues). The items ilvl is based on how high level resource you turned in. It also has one or two scrolls, which are the kind that can buff any one stat or your armor for 30 min.

If you don't want rep, I think 10 signets can also be traded for a crate w/o a rep gain, which has a better item than normally available in the other crates.

Each resource type of three npc's each giving quests. The first time you do a turn-in on a given resource, you get 10 signets, and then each additional type can be less based on the level required to get the given resource (i.e. Peacebloom x20 gives 1 signet, Runecloth Bandage x20 gives 10)

The Alliance and Horde have different resources available for turnin.

The Horde has:
Wool, Mageweave, Runecloth Bandages
Heavy, Thick, Rugged Leather
Peacebloom, Firebloom, Purple Lotus Herbs
Copper, Tin, Mithril Bars
Lean Wolf Steak, Spotted Yellowtail, Baked Salmon cooked items.

The Alliance has other resources, someone else will have to fill those in.

Basically, gathering professions win here. I've tried farming each of the resources to bump up my Troll faction real cheaply, and I decided which resource is the quickest to farm for max rep/hour. But I won't take the fun out of it and tell you which it is =)

Reputation with Cenarian Circle.
It will matter alot when blizzard makes vendors in later patches sell good equipment and recipes... like they did with EVERYTHING else.

Interestingly, there's one in Silvermoon too. Is there a new way to get these signets?

These NPC's are not outdated. When a new server is created they have to do the AQ war event to open the gates to AQ. As to the NPC in Silvermoon, it's there so that on the new servers you can turn in the Signets to get rep with Silvermoon.

If, for some reason you still have these, you can turn them in at the following locations:

Orgrimmar-- The officer is located in the valley of wisdom. (or something like that name).

Undercity-- The forsaken woman is in the main room (where bank is.) second floor, you will find her in front of a wall.

Thunder Bluff-- The tauren is located in the unnamed district where there's the AH and bank, by the small pond/flight master, etc.

Darkspear-- If you're looking to get a raptor and reputation with Darkspear trolls, look in the Valley of Wisdom in orgrimmar. There is a darkspear commendation officer (similar to the location of the Orgrimmar Orc location).

These were all during the war effort, just like all the Qiraji Leutenants with the high blue drop ratios. Unless your server is still participating in the war effort, http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/wareffort/servers.html, you will not be able to get these.

for the couple of people turning in wool, silk, ect...thats just for rep gaining with the city, it is separate from the commendations.

So if the only way to get Commendations is by doing quests for the war effort and the war effort is no longer going, why in god's name are the commendation officers still there. I think just to make us waiste our time ;-/

Officer Vu'shaley or something like that can be found in the Valley of Wisdom in Orgrimmar. His coordinates are 46,35.

Basically, once your Faction, Horde otr Allaince reached the total needed to open the AQ Gate, you can no longer hand in the raw materials and therefor no longer get the Commendation signets, As has been Said, newer and new Servers that have not yet opened the gates to AQ still need these NPC's so they are still there.

If you still have Signets lurking in the corner of your Bank, you can still exchange them.

Give them a wave as you walk past (on older Servers) they are probably bored sencless lol

You cannot gain faction rep with any of the non-playable factions, only the playable factions.

when I first heard about them someone told me it was reputation gain w any faction in the world and I almost ran to buy all stocks and get rep w Thorium and Zandalar but it seems only horde races' faction can be gained so it's more or less a waste of materials for me...

Lets say i want to turn these to my Home City Officer, and I get Repoputation Rank Up. Does Mount Traning and Mount Cost really lower if I get Repoputation Rank up?

This item can be turned for reputation with any horde faction in stacks of 1 or 10
Can be obtained by any of the supplies quest
Each time you do one of the quests (they can be done multiple times each) you get less Signets, starting from 10 then 7..

The questgivers are gone, but they will probably be back.
I started playing in june, and there were heaps npcs at the location near valley of spirits. I returned at lvl approx 40, and talked to one npc who said
they had enough of bandages etc, and only needed some more metal bars before
they went to war.
Soon after they were gone.

ok so according to the majority of people, getting these is now impossible, so is there any other way to gain rep points with a race based faction otehr then doing there quests?

For anyone looking for what reputation you gain with each faction in 2020, it worked like this:

handing in 1 signet granted 5 reputation with a particular faction

handing in 10 signets granted 75 reputation with a particular faction

I have been looking all over for this information, but have pieced this together from random websites.
