This is a fairly common drop. You should be able to get it in under an hour of farming.

it took me less than 2 hours of straight up killing to get this recipe.

What i'm curious about: how much would people pay for a stack of these...

I sell these for 4g each on Bleeding Hollow.. I don't sell a ton though. I listed a stack for 16g and it didn't sell. I try to keep 4 listed and usually two sell at one time... Then maybe two days later another two sell. It isn't a huge money maker since I hate fishing and can't bring myself to farm the firefins.

I keep meaning to see if it stacks with greater arcane elixir but I keep forgetting to ever have both of them or the mats on me.

I have a remark and a question about this elixir.

First of all, I think 3x Fire Oil and 3x Firebloom is a bit much. I recognize the power this elixir packs, but we're talking 6 fish and 3 herbs for one damned vial. That's a lot of effort for half an hour of extra fire damage. Considerring the time you spend crafting this stuff, it ought to sell for 10g a stack in order to be competitive with some of the other potions. I don't know about your servers, but on mine, there's no way in hell you're going to pocket 10g for a stack of these.

Secondly, I'm not sure if I understand the formula correctly, so let me see if any of you can help me out on this. As a hunter with improved fire traps, I score 900 fire damage on a target (690 from rank 5, +30% from talent). This elixir delivers +40 on a 3.5 second effect (normalization, right?), so that's 40/7 * 6 = +35 per 3 seconds. Using this elixir, I would expect to get 215 fire damage per tick from my traps. So far, I've tried this once, and it didn't seem to be correct (add on reported less damage than expected). Can anyone point out what's wrong with this formula (or my add on :p)?

Sadly i can't sell stacks of this pot worth squat. i've gone as low as 15g a stack just to make ends meet, but no luck... maybe there are too many frost mages on Lightnings Blade server..

I have sold a number of the recipes for this on Frostwolf. The price for the materials will drop off when everyone loses interest in them.

I'm selling the potions for 3g each at the moment, due to the cost/time involved getting firebloom and firefin.

Well I went out & farmed it.. & got it!

I killed:
76 Dark Iron Slavers
57 Dark Iron Taskmasters
23 Slaves

It dropped off a Dark Iron Taskmaster :)

Can any spellcaster use this or is it only for mages? I'm a balance druid.

Recipe Dropped on the 3rd kill from a TaskMaster, within 15 mins of server patch reboot, then booted us all and did the 3 hour reload lol.
Our AH has only 2 others with the drop,
1 potion about 6g BO and Stacks of 5 for 30g BO
Recipe itself was set at 99G BO by a person who also had the pots for sale, so I assume that is dbl loot for that person.
I expect the drop rates a nd market values to plateau early.
But Firefin Snapper & FireBloom are now major Gold issues.

With guilds getting past all the fire resistant trash in MC/BWL, these have sold quite decently.
