Well, with 25 Agility it gives you 132 Ranged AP.
With Silithid Claw and Fang of the Faceless you can only have 118 RAP, but nearly 1% crit more, though no stamina from them. Anyways, I'd prefer good combo of 1-handers in PvE over this one.

Nevertheless, it benefits hunters more than other classes of WoW.

This is the second best wep for Hunters (#1 is The Eye of Nerub). Of course this could be use by Warr also, but Hunters must away have primarity to roll on this b4 any class.

The stats of this weapon as well as The Eye of Nerub from Loatheb in Naxxramas will be updated due to the general hunter itemization revamp in patch 2.0.1.
Whether you choose a good 1hander combination or this depends on your spec and your current gear (if you have low critical chance for example).
However The Eye of Nerub is being upgraded and in combination with the weapon rating, it is superior to most 1hander combinations attainable by hunters.

This is an amazing weapon for hunters. All the stats are great and it will be useful all the way through Naxxramas and into the expasion. I say go for it if you have the chance, other classes probably shouldn't go for this because it has a ton of +agility and most other classes don't use polearms anyway.

Coming from a 0/21/30 hunter-

(41+25)*1.15=75.9 Agility

That's what makes it a good weapon, but there's a lot of other things you can duel weld to get similar AP and Crit range.

With about a 45% chance to crit on a Raptor Strike, the 3.7 speed and good top end damage is what makes it a GREAT weapon for a survival spec hunter.

It makes you love when people run towards you thinking they are safer when they get close to a hunter.

The only time I ever saw this weapon fall off of Fankriss, I was the only hunter that needed it (the others hunters having better or already having it). Yet it was given to a ret pally officer in the guild. He already had the Hand of Rag, and I never saw him use this weapon once. I was kinda gutted as I never saw it fall again.

anyone who thinks this is for warriors, go *!@# yourselves. A hunter could get +25 agi on this and then it would give +66agi. If you have the 0/21/30 talent build(or something like that), then the talents would give +15% more agi from this item. Then it would allready give a hunter 75,9~76 agi. Thats about 1.5 crit, a few hits and 152 ranged attack power. Hunter weapon for sure.

Ok, so consider you have Lightning reflexes build.
66 agility + 9.9 = 75.9 agility like somebody already stated above. Which means its a nice 152 ranged attack power

considering hunters need 53 agility for one crit, this polearm also gives about 1.45% critchance.

It basically just depends on what you want.
If you want to base yourself PURE on ranged attack power and care less about crit, you should equip the Barb even in instances.
If you want a crit build, just take the dual wield FoF / Silithid claw or main hand hakkari blade.

the difference between the Barb and having the two above mentioned melee's is a gain of 34 ranged attack power and a loss of nearly 1% crit when wearing Barb. Your pick.

This with the +25 agi enchant is the best hunter wep out there, period.
Roughly 5% of all people that check thott are actualy capable doing AQ40 and down this boss.
If you are in a guild capable of getting this, the guild will have it's own rulez on which classes roll on what weapons etc... so leave it to the guilds to decide who get's it and who doesn't, don't bring it here on thott.

ppl this weapon has hunter written all over it. Not only 4 pvp but 4 raids as well. the 41 agilty + 25 enchant gives a lot of AP and that damage helps as well

3.7 attack speed.....huge damage makes it ideal for hunters in pvp which mostly use it just for a single raptor strike..and wing clip (which is instant anyways)

This item is a hunter wep (maby warrior) but if some1 says this item is 4 palas, they got WRONG! paladins need int, stamin and strengh but NOT agi, so think again if u set a list of what this wep is good 4 (it is more like this)

I have this weapon with my hunter (lvl 67), and I didn't enchant agi on it but intel, since it comes in handy in raiding and in PvP and that small amount of AP doesn't make any big differnce. So, the stats for me looked like this:

Shame that Blizzard tries to make two-handers that appeal to Hunters and yet fails - I like the idea of a two-hander - but this is about the same (stamina and weapon's damage ignored) as two +15 Agi'd Bone Slicing Hatchets. Dal'Rend's Arms (if enchanted) outpaces this for Ranged DPS generation.

Maybe, one day, there'll be a +30 Agi/2h enchant and these comparisons will fade. We'll see.

Blizzard does design certain weapons for certain classes. I mean just because a warrior can use staves he isn't going to go around and pick up the staff of domination is he? Of course not, because it's not good for his class.

That being said, I can say this is definitly not a warrior weapon. There are so many better things you can pick up as a warrior, and if you're guild has made it to this point in AQ40 you're probably going to progress farther, and have already gotten Nef on farm status.

It's a complete hunter weapon. The agility on it will help them greatly when it comes to their ranged attacks, and the stam would help out a great deal with pvp.

This Weapon is one of the Best for BOTH Hunter and Warrior. Both have the right to roll need on it.

The thing is, 41 agi translates into 82 ap, which is one of the best ratings you can get on one wep. Add 50 ap from the agi enchant and you have 132 attack power. 66 agi is just over 1.2% crit as well. Add in the increased armor as well as the 310 hp, and you are a happy, happy Hunter.

It also adds 2-4% dodge, I believe. Most likely coser to 2%. The agi will ALSO translate into MELEE ap on a hunter, which it does not for a warrior.

Because of all of this, I believe it is very well balanced between the two classes as far as need goes. If a Prot. Warrior or anyone else needed it, I would slap them hard if a Hunter or Warrior needed it as well.

Silithid Claw: 30 ap 1% crit
Fang of the Faceless: 28 ap 1% crit
15 agi enchant on each...

118 ap (14 less than the polearm)
2.6 crit (about 1.3 MORE than the polearm)

i dunno what game youre playing...but in this game...1.3% crit is usually better than 14 ap

2*28 (AP) + 2*30 (crit) = 116 RAP.
2.5*2*15 (agi enchants) = 75 RAP.
total: 191 RAP.

Barb of the Sand Reaver
102.5 RAP (+41 agi)
2.5*25 (agi enchant) = 62.5 RAP.
total: 165 RAP.
(and some NASTY Raptor Strike crits)

LR spec'ed, only applies for the Sand Reaver:
(41*1.15 = ~47 agi = ~117.5 RAP.)
(25*1.15 = ~29 agi = ~72 RAP.)

66*1.15 = ~76 agi = ~190 RAP.

I would get this over Dual Bone Slicing Hatchets simply for cosmetics purposes. So you can enchant Agility on both of the axes...big whoop, it still doesn't look as cool.

Many hunters sacrifice stats for big burst dmg for pvp. This significantly outdoes BSH in stats as well as being huge dps at 3.7as. It'll do more than double the dmg of bsh per hit.

I would love for someone to explain to me all the crying when a class gets this wep that some other class wanted. If its an upgrade for you....no matter WHAT item it is and you get it, good for you whatever your class. Quit crying people! I dont care what class can use it best, if you are on a guild run you should all agree on who gets what or use your loot bidding system and shut your pie hole when someone else gets it and just congratulate them, and wait for the day you get what you would like!

Well, consider our prayers ansered... as per the new patch notes, there is a 25 agil 2h weapon enchant. Effectivly, making this the best hunter weapon in the game, hands down. 66 agility is more than you can get with any pair of enchanted weapons (16 agil, +15 enchant, x2 is 62 agil).

AP outdamage crit in the longrun. I got 1612 AP with Aspect of the hawk only, and 29% crit. Of course I got Lightning Reflexes. And my crits deal way more damage than the other hunters that got more crit chance than me. I also outdamage them on every boss. So extremly high AP with decent crit chance is better IMO. This polearm hits extremly hard with raptor strike aswell. Very good for PVP.

Got it yesterday. Amazind ranged DPS boost for a hunter, really. On the other hand yeah, it's good for a warrior aswell but warriors have so much optional items to bid on and hunters don't have. So when a guild comes to loot this weapon, possibly hunters will have the most enough DKP like yesterday i did.

Blizzard Just Wants to SPELL HUNTER ALL OVER IT. Why? Check this weopon after the patch 2.01, They reduced the Agility and Added Attack power to it. Why is that? its is specifically cause hunters lost half of the AP boost from Agility, All hunter items including their Tier Armors and Pvp Armors underwent similer modifications. While weopons that were not hunter specific remained the same. You might ask why wont blizzard put "Class:Hunter" on it, its obvious. This Drops from a high end instance where so many have put so much effort in downing those bosses, so what if hunters had this weopon or better? The weopon should be disenchanted? Thats why every weopon is not desginated, so that they maximize the chance of dropping usefull loot to any class. I said it is usefull to a warrior as an upgrade IF hunters dont need it. So To all warriors that want this should shud up.... its a hunter weopon.

Actually, this is a GREAT feral druid weapon concentrated on cat form! But only for the stats.. shame the dps will get wasted.

And yes, Hunters have way more positive statistics with dual wielding two weapons than with this.

Interesting for warriors too.

Many Hunters would most certainly like to replace their quest staves with this one. Especially those who appreciate the power of slow 2H weapons. Damage output wise, it's in the same league as Ashkandi (if not better), and it beats most 1H combinations stat wise.

My current combo of Warblade of the Hakkari Main and Core Hound Tooth will provide a better ranged DPS output during raids, but for everything else, this baby will be a blessing ^_^

Really hope Warriors won't be greedy and bid us up, I'm not sure how good this weapon is for them.

Was gonna submit it as a screenie for the site but now i cant because of the wardrobe one ... owel.
its not a big weapon, looks alright on me since im a female orc. much more welcoming than the burn our your retina's of the quest staff. it actualy matches DS gear, which makes me most happy! (hey, girls' need to colour coordinate!) i of course put 25 agility (tee hee) on it, and im happy there is no glow for the enchant. i no longer stand out from miles away in battle grounds and can hide alot better.

im just happy to finaly have a new weapon. so many nubs exploit the hunter quest to pass it that having that epic made me feel cheap. now im different and happy :)

Only drop thus far on our server, that i am aware of. **update: dropped today agian for us, and it was dissed.**

If you are a PvP hunter I can understand why do you want this polearm so much, 31 stamina would be 341 Hp points (with improved hp)....
On the other hand.....
As a hunter I would not be so exited about this weapon, as the CC axe (16 agi, some sta and 3/5 mp).... A Doom's Edge (16 agi, some sta and str)...would be almost the same as this wpn. Put 25 agi on this 2 handed and u will get 66 agi, put 15 agi on those 2 axes and u will get 62 agility. four agi isnt that big of an UG.
Would be fun to test some raptor strikes with that weapon but crying about it being a hunter only its nonsense.

just one thing, in recent patch hunters ap gained from agi was cut in half. To me is seems that asscandy or claymore of uholy might would be better then. but what do i know? im just a priest that never heals hunters. if you were plate, u get my heals. Also, while priority could possibly be given to hunters, in my experience, huntres will have more dkp than warrios b/c the amount gear warrios want for dmg/tanking/resist, and therefore will get anyways. No rogues or hunters likes warrior till there are none.

This is a hunter weapon for sure. A GOOD hunter would put this to great use. Also great for a MS warriors, they could probably destroy a hunter in dps with this tho :P. I can see maybe why a pvp pally would want this but this is mostly a hunter weapon.
In a good guild they use DKP but are mainly structured around priority. So guilds doing AQ40 should definitely throw this to the hunters and just let the warriors and pallies stick to weapons that are actually meant for them.

But on another note i hope hunters lose this because 80% of hunters are idiots and are also the biggest loot #$%^&s in the game. They piss and whine about every friggin item in the game... "zomg intel, i can use that... zomg its got like 2 agi on it, its for me! zomg its a polearm! its for me!" You hunters are old news now and getting really f***ing annoying.
You dont deserve this weapon at all. It should be given to a good MS warrior who knows what they are doing imo.

41 Agil with a +15 is 56 allowing 112 RAP
31 Stam 310 health

the Bone slicing..
13 + 15 = 28, x2 56 = 112 RAP
5 stam x2 = 100 health

Benefits of this pole... better health, better raptor strike.

Seeing as warrior 2h have horrible drop rates and this has awesome stats any warrior has claim on this. Furthermoore since the enrage nerf and the 2 normalization most warriors go 2h spec anyways. Therefore they won't get improved hammy anyways, so their is no disadvantage to going polearm spec. Better max dmg then drake talon cleaver, this has more stam the drake talon and adds 2 crit. Yes a warrior should absolutly roll on this if it drops and they are ms spec.

Think of this..

It gives 41 agility.

Twohanded weap. which means enchanting +25 agi.

That means 66! THAT'S ALOT!

This weapon pwns for all melee and agi-classes.
Why a warlock on the picture are using this I do not know.. I wouldn't be surprised to see this weap as almost-legendary.
But most of all the "new" items from AQ are just.. so much more epic than all others! ^^

For raid hunters specced with Lighting Reflexes, this polearm gives a total agility of 47.15 agility.

With +25 enchantment that's a grand total of: 75.9 agility.

In addition, this weapon's top end damage is far better for Raptor Strikes, should a hunter find themselves with no other alternative but to swing a melee weapon once or twice (and it does happen, folks).

I look forward to using this weapon myself.

first of all why are u duel wieldling hakkari blade yes the power is nice if your survival spec and if your survival sped you should want a two hander is a lot stornger and if you wana duel wield something go get 2 bonescicing hackets
pesonaly i would get p!$$&% if a warrior took this put 25 agility on this and it owns every thing else

I got this beauty earlier this evening, I'm quite possibly the happiest >HUNTER< alive.

the only bad thing is, i had to pay about 3months of dkp for it... and that because a warrior that didnt actually want it wanted to see "how high he could get me" :P well well... it is worth every single dkp point you can spend on it.

Im Lightning Reflexes specced, so this gives me 76 agi, bringing my unbuffed agi up to 592 :D

I am a Hunter and wouldn't get mad at wars rolling on this. When I am in AQ40 I will have the Hakkari Blades, or BB CHT. This is barely an upgrade unless you prefer 310 hp and 3 DPS gain over 1,5%-2% critchance. Oh wait. It is not an upgrade at all.

I hate to burst anyones bubble, but this weapon is a "Highest-dkp-winner"'s weapon. regardless of WHAT CLASS wins it, the person with the most DKP or /roll, will get the item, wether you Like it or not. True, its better for a hunter. And true, its awesome for a warrior. But the point is, the person that wins, get it. If a warrior has a heart, or whatever class that bids on it, wants to pass to a hunter, then awesome. But if not, grats to them. This weapon is awesome regardless.

As a hunter, i'll let every warrior have askhandi before I think of going for it, if you agree to let us have this before any warriors think of getting it. Fair trade imo. This is a hunter weap first and foremost, just like askhandi is a warrior weapon first and foremost. Yes both classes are right to fight over the weapons, so lets agree to those terms. Leave each to their own, each and every warrior in your guild gets askhandi before hunters, and each and every hunter gets barb before warriors.
