IMO, Ashkandi is the better weapon - it has +15 STA over this, and the 86 AP on Ashkandi translates into +43 STR which beats this too - though yes, if the Proc is happening often enough, it could make up for some of it.

Still, the reliability of the Ashkandi plus the higher base damage for instant attacks make it the better weapon still IMO.

The Dark Edge of Insanity.. now there�s a weapon :D

both weapons base DPS is 81.9

Ashkandi has +86 AP, which translates to 86/14=6.1 DPS.

So Ashkandi's total DPS is 88

Kalimdor's revenge gives 24 Str, which makes 48 AP, which makes 3.4 DPS

Pre-Proc DPS = 84.3

So the damage from the proc must equal 88-84.3=3.7 DPS

Average Proc Damage = 258

258/3.2x = 3.7

so, it has to proc at least every 22 times in order to out damage Askandi.

keep in mind that Ashkandi gives 330 HP and is more consistant, so in reality it will need to proc about once every 15 times in order to be better than Ashkandi.

I love it how people just say, "This weapon sucks, just get an askhandi." Like it is that easy. Askhandi has like a what, 6% drop rate? I know the drop rate on the Untamed Blade isnt much better. So assuming you dont have either of the two aforementioned swords, Kalimdor's Revenge would be great. Don't hold your breath waiting for an askhandi. Yes the Askhandi is better, but if you have a chance to get this as an upgrade to your weapon, it still kicks ass.

i although played a bit with maths
(Based AP = 1000)
Instanthits:
DMG = (WeaponSpeed * DPS) + ((AP / 14) *VariableX)

Ashkandi:
(3,5 * 81,9) + ((1086 / 14) * 3,3) =542.6357143
Kalimdor:
(3,2 * 81,9) + (( 1048/ 14) * 3,3) =509.1085714
with Proc: 547.8085714

Normal Hits:
DMG = WeaponSpeed * (DPS + AP / 14)

Ashkandi:
3,5 * (81,9 + 1086 / 14) = 558.15
Kalimdor:
3,2 * (81,9 + 1048 / 14) = 501.6228571
with Proc: 540.3228571

I played with a proc rat about 15 % ((239+277)/2*0,15) so you see ashkanid is a bit better. if you set the proc up to 20 % you will recive for Instant hits = 560.70 DMG and normal =553.22 DMG and that kicks ass! The only Problem is that you must pray that the proc rate ist up to 15 %.
I think both an not so easy to get, so i will get the one where i have the chance first ;-)

While ashkandi is nice for pve and sustained damage, this proc with a hand of justice/sword spec..

this sword takes the cake for pvp ownage.

It may not hit as hard as ashkandi but the faster swing will give rage more consistently and the CoH will proc off MS, regular attacks(more of them) ham strings etc..

it seams pretty stupid but yesterday it dropped for us (1st drop on server) and almost noone except paladins and hunters wanted it =/

Yesterday I took Kalimdor's Revenge and I had already Ashkandi. Must say that I am not that amazed and probably I will stick with Ashkandi and Kali for pimpin. ^^

Edit: Just to say that I wasnt loot $%^&*, just noone wanted sword (7 warriors have Ashkandies and 2 Kalis) :P

I got this sword a few nights ago. The procrate is huge and I do more damage than I ever thought I'd do with this weapon. I am 2h fury. I would highly suggest you to take this weapon if you are a fury warrior!

SS of myself holding it. Too fast for SOC, but its cool looking and i dont have SOC! :) Use Nef's mace + SOR for holy dmg tho.

Paladins should never have this, they are healing #$%^&es rather they like it or not. If you want to do damage with a two hander, reroll Warrior. Even if all Warriors have this or better, it should be sharded or destroyed. Never ever give this to a Paladin. Ever.

Let the drama begin.

It requires you to be in the red, which is about 25%, and once that low, It will unleash a total of 6 or so pillars of light every time you strike with it which extend about 50 metres. You will not do any damage if you are not in the red. </PhantasyStarOnline>

None of the DPS warrior wants this sword in my guild. Both of the drops went to Paladin.

Wow, all the first guy said was "the dps warriors didn't want it"...

Besides, most guilds do give certain 2h priorties to dps warriors, because for PvE dps, similarly geared paladins can't keep up with similarly geared warriors. Not that paladins can't dps, obviously they can, and much more than most people believe, but you'll be hard pressed to find one that has a regularly scheduled dps role in a raid. So most of the time the 2h's go to raid dpsing warriors first, if they're specced for it. After that, no set class. Most officers favor guild progression.

Anyhow...

#2. YOu DO NOT have to be hit by criticals in the SAME FIGHT. You CAN save up the charges over several fights.

So what the hell killed everyone? You went through several fights without auto-attacking?

My point was that for single strike damage release no other class can do it.

Meh, as rare as it is weapon procs can stack pretty quick, regardless of being unable to proc from each other. Don't forget windfury.

you CANT keep us hamstringed which is your bread and butter in pvp ( blessing of freedom>hamstring EVERY single time)

10 sec duration, 20 sec cooldown. Also if (for whatever strange reason) the warrior you're fighting is prot specced w/ a shield equipped (figure heavy on the PvE), they can just attempt to slam it off you.

Not that they're going to be able to pull any of this off, but saying that they "CANT" keep you hamstringed just isn't true.

my paladin is a dwarf, racial ability is stoneform, ie IMMUNE to bleeding... ooops there goes your rend damage.....

And there goes your 3 minute cooldown. Feel free to watch the rends and deep wounds come back in 8 seconds.

You're really undervaluing warrior dps...weren't you just complaining about the previous posters opinions on paladin dps? You're expecting the fight to go on for another full minute after you had to bubble?

Trinket takes care of HoJ, repentance can be broken by berserker rage. Not that they always will be, just throwing that out there.

Besides not all of the things mentioned are usuable. If we look at what you just said, and assumed we had all these things at our disposal, we'd end up with an amazing 67 point talent build, at least. So there's always gonna be some holes.

This is a nice Paladin or Warrior 2h Weapon, it's nice for PVP or when you get to DPS on raids; the occasion is rare but when it does happen that you get to dps on raids, like the twin emps enounter it's nice to have a good weapon to back it up with. This weapon is one of the best. I'm not sure about the proc rate however, we currently have 2 paladins in guild with it but no parses about a proc % yet i'll post when i find out. I personally like my ashkandi and would not get one of these since it's like spending dkp on the same weapon again almost.

Testing done with roughly 9,000 swings after patch 1.10 went live - procs approx 9%-12%. Nice sword!

procwatch addon doesnt count special attacks like mortal strike etc, only auto attacks, but records all the procs, so maybe thats why people said its 10-15%, so cause of procwatch your total hits is lower than your actual total hits, auto attacks + special attacks, with all my attacks / procs, proc rate is around 5%.

sorry asshat, but if they didnt want warriors wielding 2 handed swords, they would not be allowed to wield them in the firstplace. And ya, pallys can roll if they want... luckily I dont have to worry about that because I only play horde. Anyway I dont care, if you want it, your guild should let you roll. Although I do like UTB, Bonereavers, and Ashkandi alot better.

Dropped on our 5th Twins kill. No Ashkandi dropped for the guild yet (16 Nef kills) so I was very happy to take this.
Not quite as good as Ashkandi, but rarer and looks very cool IMO. Nice upgrade from TUB anyway.

This weapon goes off all the time. I think more than drake tallon cleaver. i see the animation all the time in PVP and PVE. maybe once every other fight it goes off. the speed and damage feels great if you have the crit raiting and as arms sword spec with swift hand of justice. i see alot of exctra attacks and the speed helps the rage generation becasue it hits hard and has high dps. Its not quite as good as a slower weapon like the cthun axe/ass candy/rag sword/nax weapons. however the proc chance seems to be there and with the extra attacks this thing can burst pretty hard. Its also a beautiful weapon hardly anyone has, cheers!
