Soul Essence's are found by mobs in Karazhan.

yea maybe if u read the reply right before posting your own...you would've noticed that it pretty much already says what you wrote

"That's because this isn't part of a tailoring speciality. Any tailor, spell shadow or moon, can make this." (tho its spelled specialty)

These are the same as regular bolts of runecloth or linen or wool or whatever. No special requirements whatsoever.

One thing that I am surprised no one has mentioned yet.
For tailors, this recipe starts yellow and goes green at 350. If your lucky it might be worth using this to get 5 cheap levels if your guild bank, like mine, has plenty of cheap soul essence.
