I love this weapon, from its great looks to its nice stats. The proc is very helpful, especially when you just need that sliver of health more to survive! This + crusader = pwnage. Slow speed, great stats, awesome looks, an amazing weapon. I reccomend for Warriors first, Shamans and Paladins second. Sucks for hunters. (strength and procs do nothing, and the stamina is not very good). Drops from trash in AQ, so you can farm endlessly for it. Not too hard to get =D

This axe would be lovely for a shaman as well. Of course warriors get it first, but given the fact that the proc can happen 3 times in a row (windfury ftw), it's a lovely alternative for shamans as well.

Drop from trash mobs in AQ40. Although to I would suggest getting a Drake Talon Cleaver over this just because it's easier to obtain and does a bit more damage. Drake Talon Cleaver drops off of either of the 3 drake bosses in Blackwing Lair: Firemaw,Ebonroc,and/or Flamegor.

The proc is affected by +Spell damage gear iv seen it proc for 375 with my gear on.

It drops in AQ40 (Temple of Ahn'Qiraj). Don't know from which mob or boss.

I know Magtheridon si claiming the first drop, but I recently saw a shaman on Medivh with the same weapon.

31/5/15 warrior here, picked this up 2 weeks ago. This axe is awesome, the lifesteal procs more often then the crusader I put on this, I'd pass on a Spinal Reaper becuase the proc on this works in Pve, not just Pvp.

We have seen 2 of these drop in 2 weeks on the trash before Satura, they seem to drop a lot.

Both have gone to Paladins.

Palies dont be offended this is just a Warriors POV.

Other than the legendary Rag mace this is the only slow weapon Im aware of that comes from an endgame instance other than ZG. In my expirience slower is beter especialy if youre using instant attacks even after normalization. Ontop of that its an axe the ideal MS weapon for the extra 5%crit. True palies can buff the proc with +dmg gear but warriors buff the proc rate with instant attacks. Lastly since palies dont have instant attacks weapon speed is irrelevant for the most part unless youre sporting 1000+unbuffed AP I guess.

Im not saying this is this or that class weapon nor am I knocking pallies that want it its a sweet axe. Just stating my point of view on the weapon I as a warrior would pass on the likes of untamed blade to get this axe. Slow weapons are rare in endgame this being an axe puts it at the top of my list.

Slow speed, huge min and max damage, and nice stats this thing would have some nasty MS crits. So a very good warrior ax.

Interesting that it's proc is affected by spell damage, its not a very good weapon otherwise, so it would def. belong in the hands of a pallie. Enhancement shammies don't really stack damage that much, there are probably easier/better weapons for them to get.

This is probably a better weapon for an Ench Shaman or a Ret/Holy Paladin, than an Arms Warrior. The proc recieves a bonus from +spelldmg, which is something you won't find most Warriors with, yet endgame Paladins/Shamans have a lot of it.

Have it on my Paladin on Doomhammer, it procs very often for well above the listed amount (about 300 per proc with 250 +dmg).

Minor stats + slow weapon speed + disapproval from the warriors = a paladins dream come true.

Especially since +damage/healing effects effect the proc on the axe. Warriors may be better off going for the Untamed Blade or Bonereavers Edge.

I have this on my pally on Bonechewer and he is in 6/8 judgement. It is roughly +160 spell dammage and when this weapon procs it only procs at 150-170 life drain. Any insight as to how spell dammage works or why this may be doing this would be great help thx

Apparently the proc is affected by +damage/healing. Paladin in our guild on Eredar got it last week and did some tests. Procs for 300+ non-crit.

Seems like I have to be the bringer of bad news.
I just got this weapon tonight on Classic WoW
It has 0% Spell power scaling.

Testing with 270 spell power equipped.
After testing for 10 minutes on Servant of Razelikh with Seal of the Crusader active (40% haste)
226 white hits landed, 13 Drain Life procs.
Minimum hit 142, maximum hit 161.
13 of 226 = 5,752% chance to proc.

After hitting same target for 15 minutes with Seal of Righteousness active (adds holy damage to white hits = 2x chance to proc)
250 white hits
221 yellow hits (must have forgotten to refresh seal in time a few times)
22 Drain Life procs.
Minimum hit 144, maximum hit 163.
22 of 250 = 8,79%, if you account for my refresh mistake (250+221=471. 471/2=235,5. 22 of 235,5=9,34%) then the proc chance is 9,34%

TL;DR
Neretzek, The Blood Drinker has 0% spell power scaling
Roughly 5% proc chance
Roughly 10% proc chance with Seal of Righteousness

Pointless weapon. Do not touch. Do not spend DKP. Do not put on priority. It's not good. This is the ONLY Lifestealing weapon in the game that does not scale with spellpower. Not worth your effort, time, or investment.
