drops of Lord Valthalak, a new summoned boss in ubrs. He is the last boss in the new dungeon 2 set quest line.

only shield with +spell/healing stats. makes it very good for shamans/paladins trying to max their spell damage. I'll stick with the Malistars however ;)

In the new Tier .5 quest line, you have to summon two bosses in existing instances: DM East, Scholo, LBRS, Scarlet Strat and UBRS. It's random as far as which one you have to summon except for the final one in UBRS.

Either do the quests yourself, catch someone on this step and tag along, or find someone who has done all the quests, as you get a brazier at the end to summon any of them as many times as you want.

This drops from Lord Valthalak in The Beast's room in UBRS

60 Paladin here. Some of my guildies were finishing their alts' 0.5 sets, so I went along and picked this up from Valthalak. I'm decked out in BWL and MC gear except for bad luck with shield drops, so I'm currently wielding Gizlock's Hypertech Buckler. I'm having a hard time figuring out how this could situationally fit into my profile and be more beneficial than Gizlock's. But I guess my situation is unique.

I think it's pretty rediculous that such a cool new shield has the same tired old graphic that we've seen a million times. Great shield, but I'm embarrased wearing it with my sweet new Soulforge armor.

Draconian Deflector drops off Drakkisath and its 10000 times better for a warrior then that. And yes they where right you are a noob.

And btw the way you started why dont you get yourself some +spell crit stuff heh? Oh oh and alot of +int stuff you know you have ALOT use of it ... like NOTHING but damn I bet you would pwn with such eqip. I think the best would be that you get Lightforge.

And one more thing...you said "the thing was the paladin screamed yes! as if it was he's shield wich i think most of you would agree with me its not" well your right its not a paladin only shild its a shamans shild 2 but NEVER a WARRIORS

I must say these are the kind of people who can really ruin the fun of this game... Like going to Drakkisath for the 30th time and still not having the LF chestpiece and then it drops and poef a warrior rolls the highest :S I mean comeon dont be so jackass and think , well its better atm but tomorrow i will get better but hey now i got a better chestpiece for a day ! omfg i need to put in many hours of work to ever see that piece again while he is trowing it away soon. gr

Happy i got a good guild where we do guildruns for instances...then atleast you dont got that kind of crap anymore !

3 people who can use sheilds. Shamans,palys, and warriors. Why would warriors roll on this? It's just . If a pally or shamn is in your group, let them have it. Just today i was running st by a 60 warrior and Crest Of Supremacy dropped. I was very pleased that this dropped. But the warrior wanted it. Everyone aggreed i should get it. He had unstopable Force anyway. But i won it anyway. The point is. Dont let warriors roll on this sheild.(##RESPBREAK##)272##DELIM##Uchur##DELIM##

btw awsome paladin shield considering AQ 40 is hard even for big guilds.

Is to Pallies and Shammies what the Drac Deflector is to Tanks. Shame it only drops from a Tier 0.5 quest boss...Blizz should think about shifting it onto Drakki's loot table, because most people who could really benefit from this are never gonna see it.

Has anyone noticed that some greens at about the same level are significantly better than this and the other blue shields 55-59?

After you finish the questline you get an item to summon any of the bosses. Including Valthalak and the ones that you didn't do during your own quests.

It's from a Summoned boss in UBRS for the Tier .5 Quest... only problem is you can only fight him when doing the tier .5 uograde quest.

For Shockadins and Elemental Shamans, this is the best shield in the game. No other shield adds this much damage. Even the best healing shield in the game only adds 50-something, so you're only losing about 30 healing in exchange for a nice damage boost.

It's definitely for Shamans/Palladins. If a War need rolls for this, he's either nuts or has a crappy shield. :D

The Dungeon Set 2 also called Tier 0.5 is aquired through a fairly lengthy, somewhat difficult and expensive quest chain through which you upgrade Dungeon Set 1 pieces.
After completing Return to Bodley which is one part of the chain, you will recieve Brazier of Invocation: User's Manual and Brazier of Invocation.
The manual describes where the brazier can be used to summon a variety of bonus bosses with rare loot in the following dungeons:
