what is the correct order of activating the statues?

U can use the addon Atlas it should tell the order to activate the statues.

60 feral/resto druid, decent gear. I tried soloing Atal'alarion and got punted almost onto a platform. That would have ended badly, I'm sure. But I died instead. :)

So, I invited my 53 druid friend to heal and and it worked out just fine. Backed into a grate and didn't get punted once. I just wailed on him and down he went.

Plus, we both got the vine.

Why would you want to complete this quest at lvl 60. It offers almost no reward by that lvl. This gear would suck. They should have gave some sort of trinket that increases rage, energy and mana regen so we could actually use it at 60.

I'm a 59 Tauren Druid on Rexxar, 4800hp bearform

1) the statues
Activate the statues in the given order. Just be careful not to aggro the mobs next to the statues when u r out of stealth.

2) into the water
after activating the 6th statue simply jump down into the water while using catform.

3) the pulling
the boss moves around so u can pull him when he's got some distance to the 3 trash mobs in the middle of the water

4) the fight
i pulled him with moonfire (dot) and shifted into bearform. faught, activated frenzied regen at about 1/2 hp, faught again. then stuned him with bash and got a healing touch out. maybe u can cast another regrowth or rejuvenation afterwards, depending on ur stun length through feral talent.
faught in bearform again, then used major healing potion. faught => boss died. if he's still alive, use natures swiftness+healing touch if available.

if not get a healthstone from a lvl60 warlock and or sum other classes buffs.
remember innervate to keep ur mana up for shapeshifting and healing.

boss can stun for 3 secs and has a knockback attack, so fight in a "corner" of the ring.

I spent hours figuring out and practicing exactly how to solo this whole quest as a 53 feral druid (1/41/2 atm).

I didn't think I would be high enough to activate the statues without aggro, so I didn't even try. I just killed all the groups. The only ones that were hard really were the groups with two elite worms and 5-6 non elite worms.

After activating the statues, I went down and cleared the groups around the front and half of the bosses circle. The reason for this is that you can use the level design to your advantage. Fight the boss on the ledge around his pit under one of the platforms. I used the first platform to the left as you walk in. This will prevent you from flying too high when he smacks you, and will allow you to jump down when you need to heal, causing him to run around and down the stairs giving you time to heal. As others have stated, he is also bashable. It took me about 4-5 tries to finally get him after practicing the strat and finding the right gear combo (I went with more spirit than I normally would while in bear form to help with mana regen between heals).

This is now a part of a blood elf pala q too.
Same doing, just use the stones at the right order, and you can summon the boss. Easy.

Omg, 5% drop chance? thats bs for a quest item, especially from an instance boss.

How does a 53 druid say it was quite easy to solo all the mobs on the ledges *except* for the worms which they could have soothed and activated without issue? But at 53 they would have been yellow so soothe *might* not have reduced aggro range enough. At 55 it still took me 2 attempts to get it right.

How about ledges with 2 elite elementals and 3-4 slime maggots all linked? That was "easy"? I'm a 55 Feral druid with really good gear (AC, HP's, AP etc.) and I can't come close to taking 2 elites and 3 non-elites at the same time...especially with the poison and such.

I can understand how higher levels could use statues w/o aggroing. But I can't get past ledges with elemental / maggots or worms / maggots. I even tried pulling one elemental (bottom of the first spiral stairs on the right as you enter the instance) from max distance and all the little slimes still came. So I know a 53 would have even more of a problem getting them alone.

ADDENDUM: I systematically killed a slime maggot and then dropped off the ledge as a cat, breaking combat. I did this 4 times, once for each maggot. I was left with 2 elementals and was able to kill them but had to take a pot. The ledges with 3 worms and several slime maggots can be impossible to get close enough to the statue w/o aggroing. Soloing this at a level where the reward is worthwhile seems like an excersice in futility. It takes an insane amount of time to drop off the ledge and sneak back. And if you screw up and die, it's not a quick run back. Get a group or at the least another druid who is working on it. And yes, using sleep on any linked beast (even after soothe) brings them all. Very hard to heal when getting hit by 4-5 things at once.

Feral druids who want the grizzled pelt, this item here is a 100% drop off of the guy in the isntance, however its only a 100% drop if ur doing the quest. So don't worry about doing this instance 4 or 5 times, i hope i relieved a few of you :)

solod that guy on lvl 55 Died Twice (he got som lucky punches) but with heal potions Rage and heals shouldent be a bigg problem

Don't worry Druids. If you're attempting to get this item to satisfy the quest "A Better Ingredient" from Un'Goro, the item (at least to my knowledge) should drop for you, despite the odds posted here. Otherwise, I don't think this item would drop for anyone else under any other circumstance.

The drop rate listed here is for ALL kills of that mob, but of course the item only drops if there's a druid with the quest in the party ... so it's 100% drop
