This is super, if not excellent for a RP Blood Elf.
With herbalism it is almost your blood elf duty to have lots of stacks of this stuff and use it to control your addiction to magic.
Also sells for a nice lump of cash to other potential Blood Elves who are eager to withstand their lust for magic.
An idea is to stand behind a rock in front of Karazhan on a Saturday evening and wait. Whisper each blood elf that might pass about "ways to control the hunger". And make him spend all he's money on drugs so he can be high for a full raid night,
there might be money in this people.

This may be useful for lvl 19 caster/healer twinks actually, since it does stack with any buff or food. 10 extra spell damage/healing would make the twink a little bit stronger, just be sure to rebuff with this before it wears outand the debuff comes.

Hey,
Bloodthistle is a stand-alone reagent. You simply right click to use and you get a buff called "Bloodthistle" which gives +10 dammage and healing for 10 mins. After this you become afflicted with a de-buff called "Bloodthistle Withdrawal" which lasts for 20 mins and is -5 Spirit

According to WoWWiki:-

This temporary affliction can escalate into a full-blown addiction to bloodthistle, and "thistleheads" are looked down upon in blood elf society.

Bloodthistle can be compared to cocaine from its addictive properties and the similar term "cokeheads".

This doesn't state it, but Bloodthistle is Blood Elf only. When the 10 minute buff runs out, it applies a 20 minute debuff called Bloodthistle Withdrawal that lowers Spirit by 5.

Rogue is the only Blood Elf class that does not use Mana. It would appear they gain no effect from this whatsoever.

Increases spell damage and healing by 10 for 10 minutes. Apparently when it wears off, you get Bloodthistle Withdrawl (-5 spirit) for 20 minutes, probably cancelled if you use another Bloodthistle.

you will get a quest in shadowmoon valley regarding Bloodsthistel, goes to show that bloodsthistle must be some magical plant or something like that that some blood elves devour to ease their hunger for magic, in other words.. to blood elves this is like crack or something ;)

I found 5 of them by the North Sanctum in Eversong Woods. As a Herbalist you can herb-gather them no matter what's your lvl.

Personally i'd think this to be more like the blood elf cocaine, as weed isn't physically addictive and doesn't have bad withdrawal symptoms.

Also, look at blood elves, they're like 50 pounds each, of course they're coke heads!

Love this stuff for my blood elf 39 warlock twink. I always consume it on the battle grounds. +10 dmg and healing to spells is pretty significant, considering this herb is lvl 5 and in the starting area of the blood elves. I don't think a lot of blood elves even know what this is. I never see any BE's buffed with this. I'm the only one it seems.

I can just make an alt herbalist and send the leafs to my blood elf right? Even though only a blood elf can use them, I can still gather them with another race?

can be gathered by any race and can be consumed only by blood elves. funny, i am full t5 and i just found those %^&*s. never been on eversong anyway ;P

I regularly run around in eversong to grab these for my tankadin, any spell damage is good spell damage.
