Probably the best shield in the game so far. One of the main reasons Warriors love to mess around with Patchwerk first when entering Naxx. Massives amounts of Armor and the cool model of this off hand make it a truck of a shield ^^

This shield is still a very valid option @70 for the Hydross frost phase tank.

Maybe in fights where you need resist Str or Block are not that important, as damages are not as much physical ? Hence the need for another shield as your standard tanking one...

the resistance and lotsa stam on it, indicated we wil need alot forst resistance stuff ;) and as its only possible to catch magic dammge by having enough mana cause you cant get less dammge from magic if you have str and or agil or defence. str on such shields only applys that you can use it on normal mobs aswell so you dont need to swtich gear for each different mob u fight, cause we have to manny of those instances allready where your full with gear in your bags.

The Face of Death, drops from Sapphiron I believe.
By the point you can get this gear you'll have Dreadnaught or high enough defense you won't need the +9 defense from Plauge Bearer. More armor, Shield Block% so yeah, Death > Plague.

*Edit* Of course, this will be the Frost Res Shield of choice.

is the weapon. it has +healing, and the dagger itself is +130 damage/healing, or close to that. You can only get the Fang within 10 hours of the gates of AQ opening.

The reason why naxx has so much frost resistant gear is because without farming all this gear ull have no chance against the frost boss just befor kel thuzad.

The bracers and gloves are crafted by a blacksmith that is revered with AD. The Breastplate requires an exalted rep with AD to get that pattern. The Legs come from an initial quest once you've completed The Echoes of War quest. The shoulders drop from Faerlina. The other pieces are Naxx drops as well, not sure who just yet though.

Bracers - Crafted/Revered AD
Gloves - Crafted/Revered AD
Breastplate - Crafterd/Exalted AD
Leggings - Quest completion after Ecchoes of War
Shoulders - Drop/Faerlina

Other drops - Not sure which boss though
Belt
Boots
Helm

Yeah, but it's sorta just bookkeeping making our tanks spend DKP on items like this. We have a loot rotation anyhow, so eventually all the tanks will get it. I guess the real reason for giving/charging the tanks DKP comes from very random situations... like the Zulian tiger out of ZG. We've always made that a bid item... agree or disagree... I don't care at all... so if a tank wanted to win it they'd have to spend the DKP.

I got this last night and I am using it in conjunction with Gluth's Missing Collar. I don't have a lot of Dreadnaught yet, so the +defense, high stamina, high armor and block are very useful for tanking/mitigation.

Looks like it dropped 7/10/06 for Damage Networks of Mug'thol. I saw their MT with it in Ironforge.
