I am lvl 70, 366/375 Alchemy, was making Adept's Elixir's when I randomly "Discovered" how to make this Flask. It just sorta Proc'd. Everyone near me in Orgrimmar saw a yell message that was like "DISCOVERY! Bartender has just discoverd how to make a new flask recipe!" very cool, hah.

For what it does the materials are extremely cheap, in my opinion. Dreaming Glory is everywhere, practically, and 10 Mana Thistle is easy to come by.

Instead of posting on how this is discovered I thought I'd run a quick comparison between this flask and distilled wisdom

70 / 5 seconds = 840 mana / minute

After 2.38 minutes of combat this flask regenerates more than the distilled wisdom provides (+2000). For example, a typical boss fight of 5 minutes:

840 x 5 = 4200 - making it nearly twice as effective as a flask of distilled wisdom.

Even the damage casters in my guild have found it necessary to use this flask instead of Supreme Power. On mana intensive fights such as Magtheridon, it is almost required to have one of these and a major mageblood running.

I can confirm this flask stacks with all other mana/5 seconds buffs - Blessing of Kings, Mageblood Potions, Mana Oils to mention a few.

Sadly, in the next patch it's being nerfed from 70/5 to 25/5.

It now returns 300 mana per minute, as opposed to the previous 840 mana per minute. If you have any spare, its probably best to sell them now and then rebuy them when the materials have changed, as the potions in your inventory will be nerfed down despite however much you paid for them.

I would still call these very useful, but they are now the cheaper alternative to elixirs, reversed from what they used to be. Think about it, they last through death, for 2 hours, and 25mana/5 is still good.

Randomly while making pots for something I had this appear

Flask of Mighty Restoration of the sorcerer

+19 stamina
+13 Intellect
+15 spell Damage and Healing

Use: Increases the player's mana regeneration by 25 mana per 5 seconds for 2 hrs. Counts as both a Battle and Guardian elixir. This effect persists through death.

Requirements to make a discovery

You must be crafting a potion, elixir, flask or performing a transmutation that was added in TBC.

As a rule of thumb that's anything that is learnt from a master alchemy trainer, dropped from a mob in outland or purchased from a vendor in outland. The only real exceptions are the pre-TBC flasks that have been made available from faction vendors in outland.

NOT requirements to make a discovery

You don't need to be in outland
You don't need a mastery
You don't need to be 375 alchemy
You don't need to be level 70
You don't need to craft yellow or orange recipes to make discoveries. Even grey recipes can proc discoveries
You don't need to be crafting a related recipe *except* in the case of cauldrons (You can discover flasks when making potions for example)

I discovered it with my priest - Ohgma - while making 40 Onslaught Elxier in Thrallmar (Alchemy skill 375).

Reaching some skill in Alchemy while doing some kind of potions. I got a DISCOVERY message while making "Volatile Healing Potion". Anyway, here's a summary of the "Flask of" discoveries I could find on the Internet so far:

Quick FYI for those wanting these...they are getting nerfed hard-core in 2.1.0. The materials are approximately one-third of the current mats (1x Fel Lotus, 3x Mana Thistle, 7x Dreaming Glory, 1x Imbued Vial), but the benefit has been reduced to 25 mana per 5 seconds.

It also counts as both a Battle and a Guardian Elixir, meaning if you have this up you can't have any other elixirs active. Makes a big question as to whether this is worth it, in my opinion, considering the alternative of having a Healing Power of Adept's Elixir and an Elixir of Draenic Wisdom (+30 Intellect and +30 Spirit) up simultaneously. True, the Flask will persist through death, but if you've got a group that's not much of a concern anyways. And, you can still get many of the Elixirs for the cost of a single flask.

I kinda doubt Blizzard has thought this one through.

I learned this by making "Gray" Unstable Mana Pots. It didn't give be any flask for use, I was only allowed to make the Flasks for future use to answer your question.

I discovered Assault while mixing Defense/Adept's and one more kind of elixir in Org.

One month later I discovered Fortification while mixing Strength pots in Shat.

Both discoveries occurred at the same time on the server clock.

Both discoveries occurred when I was mixing more than 15 pots of the same type.

The materials are expensive for each pot. Fortification moreso as Ancient Lichen is mostly inside instances.

The insane mana thistle camping continues...

I discovered this while making a handful of Elixirs of Healing Power. I was in an instance at around 11 PM server time. I don't think number of things made, type, location or time have anything to do with the chance to discover anything. Just continue to make TBC alchemy items and hope the low percentage chance comes up for you.

I can make these on Sen'jin (Alliance). If you want one made, send an ingame email or pst SILVYR.

The new flasks can be learned via making potions that you learned in outland. You can not purchase any of the new flasks recipies, you must discover them. The chance to discover a new flask recipie is very very rare, hence dont expect to see one. There is NOT a direct coorilation between the flask discovery and the potion you made when you discovered it. Also, it does not matter what color (orange, yellow, green or grey) the potion is, or what alchemy spec you are, when in regards to discovering flasks.

You can still find the old flasks recipies on Azeroth in instances, and on vendors in Outlands if you have the right rep.

(Origionaly, it was thought that there was a coorilation between the potion you where making when you discovered the flask. This now appears to be entirely false. However, it is believe you must be making an Outland acquired recipie in order to discover a new recipie.)

you can however purcahse new flasks for "marks of the illidari" from scryers tier/aldors rise for INSTANCES ONLY. if raid only or not i am unsure.

This is a non-issue, if you are worried that you will not be able to get these recipies now then Stop worrying. The only reason the discoveries are turned off is because they couldn't "HotFix" this problem so they took it offline untill the next patch. So, just stock up ur herbs and make ur pots after the patch.

id like to confirm that the flasks are being changed to a third of their strength or so depending on their being pre-BC or not.The flasks purchased with the marks of the illidari are called Shattrath flasks of XXXXX and the marks of the illidari are drops from the trash in the black temple. you must be EXALTED with the cenarion expidition the Sha'tari and aldor or scryers to be able to buy these. do not expect easy flasks but once you get as far as the black temples trash mobs grinding rep for these instances will be cake. the aldor/scryer rep is a different and will take some grinding but will overall be easy enough

id also like to confirm the existance of healing/mana pots bought with coilfang armamants for the coilfang resorvoir instances amd healing/mana pots bought with spirit shards (well at the moment this may be changed as it is still on the PTR)

Also flasks for gruuls lair have been confirmed.these are on Wowhead and are called unstable flasks of the XXXX (bandit,physician,beast,soldier etc) it is not exactly confirmed how you get them but its rumored you have to take "apexis shards" that drop from mobs near ogri"la and stick them into some forge to recieve these.it is also rumored every once in a while there will be some researchers starting an event and if you manage to do it and defeat unending waves of mobs a researcher will come and sell flasks for cheap (too good to be true?)but unfortunatly you cant fight forever and eventualy he will die.

4 new potions/elixers are being added. these are on the "newest items" page 2 of the test realms as of now

Cauldrons existance (items from which within you pull major XXX protection pots for a large amount of people from) has not been confirmed to me yet but may exist

As of today (patch 2.1), this has been dramatically nerfed :

It's gone from 70MP5 to 25MP5, and now counts as both battle and gaurdian elixir.
This makes it near-enough useless, especially when compaired with the elixirs which will no longer stack.

It's mats have been cut in half, but still requires fel lotus.
It still persists through death tho, so maybe useful for learning new boss fights.

I just learned this today while making some random TBC pots, but here's the catch. I'm only level 50.

Once I hit 50 I trained to 375 Alchemy at Shattrath city (had somebody summon me) and over the past few days have been buying BC mats to make BC pots (since I obviously can't farm them).

I discovered this last night on my lvl 65 priest along with Flask of Arcane Fortification, i was making 5 super mana pots when i discovered this one then 2 mins later i was making 10 major agility pots and discovered the other, so master of potions etc is not needed

I was making my usual 40 Super Mana Potions for my friend, and about 5 potions in (with a proc at the beginning as I'm a Potion specced Alchemist), I got the discovery! I was so happy!

Just discovered this while I was making some major agility pots.
I'm a transmutation master and I was in Shattrath City.
First time I do a non-transmutation discovery. I didn't know that was possible.
I hope that means I can also discover the cauldrons.

Alchemy Lab's can be found in Shat City, ( Lower City part ). If your looking on the map of Shat, at the Lower City area, its the two circles.

There are two round platforms in the air, on the 2nd one there is a Lab.

Just stand near it, and brew your potion.

I have made over 1000 try to lern this recipe, (I did know that all potion and elixir have and chance to lern u it, but i thought that Mageblood had higher proc rate).
And have made alot of other random pots and elixir that i farmed or bought math for just to lern this (my last lernable flask/pot/elixir/transmute). Then I say in guild that i pay 10 silver per craft i make just to lern it and my guild m8 want me to make him 6 , 20 and 10 . Then when i have maded some agility pots i learned it.

The fact about lerning alchemy stuffs:
* It have to be TBC transmute or craft.
* Every potion, elixir (flask im not sure about) can lern u new flask and potions that are learnable.
* All transmute can lern u new transmutes. (Higher procrate cause of 23h cd.)
* The server time doent matter.
* The place doesnt matter
* Your mastery doesnt matter (Potion, Elixir och Transmute Mastery) Im elixir tho.
* Lerning cauldron will only trigger from that specefic resistance potion. You will only have to make 4 resistence potion to lern the cauldron. There is no Major Holy Cauldron, but all other resistance potion have it.
