Im not sure if the drop rate is really 0.3% chance. Ive looted this recipe on 2 occasions now. First time took me about 30 mins of farming and second I got off the first one I killed. I got it twice cause I switched alchemy mastery and had to regrind it.

Do not be intimidated by the drop percentage, as has been stated the rate is alot higher. Also they respawn "extremely" fast you should have it done in under an hour. Good use for Primal Shadow that normally is worth very little.

This will get much better in 2.1 when a little more thistle gets you 5 or more(proc dependant) off one cast.

I can confirm the location of the droprate.
It dropped for me whilst I was grinding Marks and Fel Armaments for Aldor rep.
Wasn't deliberately trying to find it but now I have it :)
Watch out for the elite that walks around.
Alot of cloth and gold to be obtained whilst grinding for this.
The Wraithbringers nearby also drop another Alchemy Recipe

Well that was great... it only took 597 kills to get this one.
Got 5 Fel Armaments, 1 blue item, ~20 green ones, alot of Marks and almost 300 netherweave cloth.

Only pulled the elite when some other idiot grinding there did and then died :D .

... now I just have to wait and see if I'm ever going to use it :/

The rate may not be as low as 1 in 500 (0.2%), but it's certainly not high. I've killed hundreds of those stupid warlocks with no drop.

Fortunately, they're very easy to kill. They don't have a lot of hit point or armor, and their abilities are a weak shadow bolt with a long cast time and a channelled drain life spell. Both can be interrupted.

They drop Fel Armaments and Marks of Sargeras, so this is a much more pleasant grind for the Aldor-aligned characters.

Bring snacks and drinks, though, because you might be grinding for a long, long time to get this recipe.

The drop rate must have increased because i got both this and the fel strength potion within a couple minutes. Had myself stettled in for a long grind and 5 kills in fel strength, 5 later major shadow protection. go me.

5 Fel armaments, more thn 100 Marks and 350 Netherweave, various greens and lots of trash items/money but I still have to see it dropped, Im really losing faith :(

Near the top of the camp there are three towers each with 4 warlocks that spawn. There is an elite that paths around the top but he is easily avoided. Had to kill all warlocks at all three towers about 5 times to get the drop.

Been farming for over an hour and no sign of it so far. Fel Strength elixer (blue/rare) dropped within 15 minutes. Just a reminder that /each/ kill has a non-stacking chance to drop the recipie.

Just a side note: The warlocks seem to respawn at a highly accelerated rate ... making it very tough to slam the keyboard down, curse loudly, and walk away from farming.

Since only alchemist who doesnt have it learned already can see the recipe drop, the % showed here is not really accurate.

You have to use WoW's Armory which give:

Obtained in 58 minutes after killing 132 warlocks. Also got Recipe: Fel Strength Elixer, 40 marks of Sargeras, and 4 Fel Armarments.

Went to the warlocks specifically to farm this recipe off them, and I got it after my fifth mob :).

Like earlier people have said, don't get intimidated by the extremely low drop percentage.

I'm a 65 Rogue. I got a very nice fellow guildie to help me farm it (Level 70 Hunter).

We farmed for about an hour, so i decided to give up- we were making our way back down to the town, and i spotted a nightmare vine, so we killed the mobs nearby. One of them yielded a Fel Strength Recipe, which I was happy to have.

*break when i had dinner*

After my dinner, i thought that i may as well get my guildie to help me farm Nightmare Vines- seeing as I needed them for my *recently discovered* Flask of Pure Death. I approached Legion Hold, and I thought we may as well keep farming the recipe, as it was quite a good money maker, and since my companion didn't want anything in return for her hard work- I thought we may as well.

We farmed them for another twenty minutes or so, until she had some odd lag spikes, so she relogged. While she was relogging, *i'm ashamed to say* I ninja'd a warlock which was walking to the centre of the the place off another 70 hunter (who didn't complain much, and to be fair, probably didn't need the mob as much as me). I killed it, and looted it. To my absolute suprise, the mob yielded the recipe.

I sold everything I had received from the farming sessions, and hearthed. The money made from it equalled (for me) about 50-80g. Nice way to make money if you have someone who wants to farm a recipe ;).

I still haven't made my first bunch of them, but will do in a few minutes- I'll post back telling you whether I've discovered the cauldron. (Can't believe the AH prices of Primal Shadow's atm. 45g on Terenas EU T.T)

118 kills and 20g repairs from getting flattened by the Elite later, I got it.

Still, about 120 cloth, 35 marks and 3 fel armaments made it worth while I suppose.

As a Warlock, I could DoT 4-5 of them at the one time and they wouldn't do much damage. It was when I got caught in combat killing the warlocks and the Elite trampled by that the fun began.

... and the fel strength elixir recipe has yet to drop. >.<

Finally got this recipe after about 400 kills or so. I think I definitely got shafted on the drop rate for sure. Did pick up over 20 fel armaments, and close to 250 marks of sargeras though. Quick question: does anyone know if you can get a potion mastery proc on this? If so, do you get 6 instead of 5, or 10 instead of 5, or what?

Omg after reading your comments on droprates and stuff. I just flew to SMV prepared for a long grind and this recipe dropped off the very 1st warlock I killed and the Fel Strength Elixir dropped off the 3rd. ^^ Nice to be lucky with drops for once. hehe

Took me 92 kills and 45 minutes to get this to drop. Got the Fel Strength Potion on about kill 50. Also ended up with 3 fel armaments, 28 marks of Sargeras and 4 greens.

Confirmed. Killed about 50 warlocks around the green crystals at Legion Hold in Shadowmoon valley. Dropped 4 min before a server shutdown.

Got it less then a hour of killing. I'd be careful farming this though. Mi myself got a little to carried away about how easy they die and how fast they respawn, I kept killing them constantly over & over till i had like no mana. Then the 69 elite demon pat walks by... fun... so look out for him if you farm this lol

This would be an excellent place to farm for Aldor rep items. I got about two or three Fel Armaments within a few kills. Also got the Fel Strength potion within about 30 kills. It's addicting how easily they go down and how quickly they respawn. Really sucks, though, because it's obvious it's a good farming spot and there was a lot of PVP when I was there. I had to stop after a short while when it got out of control and people started training mobs to each other, including the pit lord. Unfortunately, no Shadow Protection Potion yet. :(

Got mine on about the 30th kill. The farming location sucks but just keep an eye on the Pit Lord. You can pull the locks also which is strange since they cast- but not complaining. You can stand among all the infernals and they won't attack you either.

I picked this up in Shadowmoon yesterday. I just wanted to know if anyone else has it there is no drop rate % and I wiould like to take some of my guildies to farm with me.

This is pretty mellow and painless compared to the federal pound me in the &^* grind that the Holy Prots require. Arcane Prots are by far the easiest though.

Do keep an eye on the wandering elite though.

Took me 66 kills to drop. Easy run for a 70 mage, most kills took 2-3 hits and they respawned at a perfect pace to keep moving.

Remember, the listed drop rate is on all kills. To my knowledge, only alchemists can see it so the drop rate is actually much higher than it appears. It took me about 45 kills, fairly easy as a balance/resto hybrid druid. Be sure to farm around the platform where the mini-boss is - that elite patrol can really give you a headache. The infernals won't attack you, so no worries.

Took about 2 hours of grinding for me, but in the process I got 36 Marks of Sargaras & 7 Fel Armaments - overall, considerably better drop rates than the legion hold demons, tbh.

took me nearly 4 days, 10 greens, 6 fel armaments and about 100 marks or more, fel str potion and I got it today. That spot is great for farming.

and while helping someone farm for the arcane resist to cloak I got the fel mana pot

do you have to be 375 alchemy to get this or sumthing? Im 365 and have killed around 300 locks now, still no drop :|

at least I got the other(blue) recipe and a loth of cloth, cash, marks etc... but seriously blizzard, at least make it 1% droprate >:|

dude..i've killed over 500 of these guys in the past 6 hours...i got the fel strength recipe...but not this one..i've gotten 8 fel armaments and 170 mark of sargeras...400+ netherweave cloth..but no recipe..did they change it after the last big update?

I killed 651 of them..and it finally dropped...but in the end it was worth it...for all the mats + greens i got (34 greens all together)

but i did had an enormous luck with the fel strength recipe.
Got it on my 2nd or 3th drop.

Also went to get the major arcane recipe and got that on the 7th drop.

and when i was making the major arcane pot, i also discovered the major arcane cauldron.

i really feel lucky ^^

Damn, took me a little around 2-3 hours of farming...I think I ended up killing 200 of the Shadow mobs. I did get the rare recipies with the first 20 kills though...anywho, happy farming.

Now if I can only think of a raid where that may be useful.

The Cauldron is extremely useful for Doom Lord Kazzak. I also find them great to use vs. warlocks or shadow priests in PvP.

210 locks dead and I got it. 4 pot batches later and I have the cauldron. Hex Lord Malacrass, here we come!

Those locks are some sort of insane repop timer. At one point, I killed 4 locks from the same spawn! (One died, immediate repop where he was, etc) Definitely going to farm here from now on.

Am I missing something? I dont have any of the major ____ Portection potions and I am an elixer master. I have been able to get the fel mana and fel strength potion, but I have been farming the warlocks for 4 days straight, 2-3 hours per day and I still havnt been able to get this to drop. I have gotten over 1/2 way through exhaulted aldor rep off the marks and armaments which is nice but wondering why I am having such a hard time farming this recipe.

I took a good friend with me, a Pally, and I asked him to help me out, thinking it would make it go faster for the drop to happen. This dropped after the 4th of 5th kill, off one of the warlocks. Its not a bad grinding thing seeing as they respawn pretty fast. We stayed there for the other BOP recipe that drops, but that took about another 40-50 kills.

It was nice that this one dropped fairly easy, but the otherone took some time. We also had to shoo some other people who where there messing with us, trying to aggro things. Afther the 4th time, we got mad, and pulled the elite onto them. Needless to say, they went away. ;)

Good luck with the drop. When you farm them, from all the people that I talk to about it say that it's really not a very hard thing to do, it just takes some time, and being bored.

Demo Sac Destro Lock

Took me about an hour and a half of strait farming to get this to pop up. If your a destro lock and doing this. Make sure you have first aid up to 375 and then just demonic sac your fel puppy. You never run out of mana and you stop every few kills to bandage. Real easy and simple this way.

By the way this has to be one of the best netherweave farming spots in the game if your a tailor, in the time that i was farming these i also farmed over 20 stacks of netherweave.
