I was so lucky to grab this pet when I did - Speedy is my favourite pet in the entire game.

I use Speedy as a marker for myself in the supression room in Blackwing Lair - luckily, no other Rogues in my guild have the same pet!

Obtainable during Children's Week. Were you help out the Orphan child who follows you around, more like stumbles, and you do a few quests for. Then you turn the child in and gain your reward.

Children's Week comes around the first or second week of May, as a seasonal thing in World of Warcraft.

To start the quest is at the orphan shelter in the Valley of Honor for Horde, or at the Cathedral for alliance.

After completing the task for the child, return the whistle to the Orphan Matron to recieve your award of the following:

Speedy is my most fav pet and I am a hunter and the sad part is I like him better then my Combat pet. He is so cute!!! plus if you are having a bad day look at him and he is always smiling and I bet you itll make you smile as well.

Speedy the Turtle, somewhat like Willy, will occasionally do something to critters on a fairly long timer. I noticed he "shouted" at a nearby critter (similar to a warrior demoralizing shout, sans debuff) while running through the barrens. Like Willy's ability to zap a critter, this appears to be fairly infrequent, and the only reliable way to see it would be to stand near a critter till he does it.

After seeing crusty bob https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=21376 with my dranei i was dying for a pet turtle. My absolute favorite pet of all time, extremely cute and hilarious to watch him chase after me while I'm on my mount.

i LOVE my turtle. i named her Shelly.
for some reason, she lets off what looks to be a demoralizing roar every once in a while... anyone know why that is?

When running through shallow water, Speedy will leave a trail of bubbles behind in his wake =)

I think the shout he uses is a inviseble buff..
My twink rogue have this pet and sometimes my stam raises with about 15-20... but i get no visable buff. it very wierd but im quiet sure Speedys demoralizing shout is the reason. can some of you try to summon him and watch if your Hp increases. Unsummoning wont take away the buff right away it has a unknown duration

From what I know...childrens week returns every year...I think it would be pretty sweet if you could do the quest every year...cause im not sure which pet to choose =(...any suggestions?

Very fun quests (same as last year), but with better reward.

Though, honestly, the kids are so cute, it's worth it just for the quest itself.

Better rewards than last year? Sorry, but these are the exact same rewards. I got the turtle, anyone know why he occasionally makes a sound and a blue exclamation appears above his head?

I did the childrens week quest this year and chose speedy. It does seem as tho he is giving me random heals... weird =]

i did add a pic of speedy's mini shout, it is sooo cute! but for some reason it hasnt been put on the page, oh well, ill get another one and hope it posts on the page *fingers crossed!* and if it does not post.. dont ask me why it wouldnt, then you will just have to trust in me that he will shout every now and then. just watch him VERY carefully, you will notice (i hope)!

It seems like he casts demoralizing shout. I've seen it affect mobs for -96 attack power...

Lately when I'm just idling my little turtle has been doing a random demoralizing shout animation, as if some warrior cast it on him.

I'm completely alone with no one around. I don't know wtf it's doing.

probably one of the best mini pets in the game ( apart from except perhaps panda cub or mini diablo ) and for this one you dont have to drop 150 bucks on a collectors edition.

speedy will stand next to you...(duh) and run next to you. his legs seem to move a mile a minute when hes following you, and even faster when u mount =D

chose him for the childrens week quest and have never thought i made the wrong decision.

and YES he will occasionally gain a strange blue exclamation mark over his head, much like a very small version of the demo shout when it affects a target. he does it randomly and it doesnt say anything about it in the combat log...so i can only come to the conclusion its only for looks. Either way, he does more than 90 percent of the mini pets in the game =D

Speedy sometimes shouts and scares away Critters,
this is the "Taunt" blue exclamation mark coming over his head.

I'm happy to have a Protector like Speedy to scare away the evil Critters :p
