This Offhand, with Hungering Cold Mainhand is my dream combination. The Swords-skill on the other, combined with the speed of the two, and my already 16% hit, I can only imagine the damage I could lay down.

This item has been changed to main hand only in the burning crusade closed beta. Many rogues and DPS warriors think it's a bug, but several Blizzard posts have stated that it's intended. This sword just screams offhand, yet Blizzard seems to think otherwise. gg

For bosses this is minimally better then maladath due to weapon skill. For a pvp situation it is far greater then maladath. Come patch maladath will be a shadow of its former self as weapon skill is going for a glancing blow modifier to a .1crit. This is a very large nerf.

The change (which in this case is a term for Nerf) to weaponskill makes Maladath a farming tool. 1 weaponskill is .04% hit and .04% crit. That's .0004/1.

Iblis's high speed and good stats make it a more desired offhand.

Conscerning the use of Edgemasters: I blame Blizzard's lack of farsight. The gloves were released and considered a joke for so long. A "broken" mechanic had to be fixed when people got wise to the math.

The purpose of a glancing blow is to signify you're fighting something you shouldn't be, but somehow we're all in these raid instances.

After the change to the mechanics of weapon skill, this is hands down the best offhand for dual wielding warriors or sword rogues.

Being my guilds hunter officer I've had to lecture up a few of our hunters about this one.
It is NOT a hunterweapon since the only thing making this better for us then some zg 1h is that it's got 1% hit.
We don't get anything from it's dps so ofc it should go to melee first

A little off-topic, but nevertheless interesting:

A seraph is in the Christian angelic hierarchy a member of the Seraphim, the highest known rank of angels.
The most notable seraph would be Lucifer, or as he's more known as to most people: Satan, the devil. Lucifer was banished from heaven (a banished angel = a fallen angel), and so basically "...the blade of the fallen seraph" means the blade of Satan himself.

Ironically, Iblis is (correct me if I'm wrong) also the name of the prime Islamic evil (corresponding to Satan for Christians), which also is the devil. So in conclusion, this blade could might as well have been named "Satan, Blade of Satan", but I guess that doesn't sound as good as the current name.

First off the third message from he beginning had the right idea and actually factual stuff. Ibliss is indeed a Djinn (created from smokeless fire). He is not Lucifer (Morning Star) nor is the same as Shaytan(Satan). He is however referred to as Satan in the Qur'an however he is not the same as Lucifer in the Bible. He is distinguished entity in the Islamic Holy doctrine.

I hate to say this but I'm never going to use this weapon till well after xpansion but this is pownage for my fury warrior and seeing as theres not alot of drops for an epiced fury warrior in MC (the only thing Im capable of doing now)I look forward to adding this beaut to my arsenal

Its the best offhand sword in the game by far. But its also got good stats for a hunter. In a raid enviorment though, this weapon would be best used in the hands of a melee DPS class. I mean the next best off hand sword I can think of would be the Maladath from BWL and thats got a 2.20 swing speed, a little slow for an offhand sword and is only 55 somthing dps. Other then that the one I see most comonly used would be the Brutality Blade from MC which has a 2.5 swing speed and is only 51 somthing dps. Even with the damage reduction for using a weapon in your offhand, if your a combat sword rogue or DW warroir you really can't get a better offhand sword. The stats completely blow away all the other swords you would even think of using as an offhand. Basically a hunter taking this over a melee DPS class would just be a greedy side-grade, unless its going to be sharded. Sure you get the 26ap and %hit and %crit. But there are 1 handers out there with comparable static stats on them as well that don't also have the best melee stats for an off hand with the speed and dps this sword has.

That's The Hungering Cold, from Kel'Thuzad, with 1.5 speed, 73 something dps etc. Makes this one look like a toy.

As a human warrior, This is possibly the best offhand in the game currently, Im using Thunderfury/Maladath at the moment, However i'd outbid any rogue trying to score this from me.

(Guild hunters dont use dualwield, They use Ashkandi/Eye of nerub)

I wouldnt call this a tank wep.. You can get better weps for that, but its a great great great hunter and most likely rogue wep.

MAGE WEAPON! Seriously... who gives a crap? It's good for anyone who wants to DPS. Maybe a tank won't use it in a party, but it would certainly help when the tank goes solo. It helps ranged damage considerably so it would be good for a hunter, and it would be great for a rogue as well.

As a human fury warrior, This is surely the best offhand in the game i can think of, Currently using Thunderfury/Maladath, Lets hope for it to drop next time we do Instructor.

There has been a lot of speculation that this will be made into a MH for The Burning Crusade.

Sword Spec is being fixed for TB in that the swing timer will no longer reset after a proc. From what I understand the AQR/Iblis combination is now an overpowered combination and completely out of scale from other OH and this is the reason for the change. There have been GM replys to this and it is being considered

If anyone knows any more then please let everyone know

This sword would be hellified on a hunter or rogue...HAW hellified get it? Anyway I would definitely use this and the Warblade of the Hakkari main hand, if I were to dual wield.

This is a great PvE offhand for a rogue or a fury warrior (and good for a hunter if he needs more +hit). The hungering cold is surely better, but for how easy this is to get (Raz is probably the easiest boss in Naxx, either him or Anub), Iblis is a very nice offhand.

im goin to say Sword Rogue/Fury Warrior as being about the best OH in the game. I am a hunter not just saying this for the joke but it is a good DW weapon. Has all the right stats but i would say let a rogue or warrior get it first becuase of the DPS and weapon damage. there is the Barb and Eye of Nerub. or even an Asscandy would be better over all(and the 2h would be better for PvP anyway and thats what hunters xcell at).

Well, as far as I can say it's about to be the best combat rogue offhand in game right now. Still stays an offhand for rogues.

Without making any sugestion which class should "get priority" - I am a clear supporter off non restricted dkp systems - I can see it as a Fury Warrior Mainhand.

While slow mainhands have their advantages at earlier states of equipment I myself am now at the point, where even with Bloodthirst, Wirlwind & heroic strike I sometimes can't get rid of rage. Having a quite slow Mainhand at the moment, the only logical consequence seems to be a faster mainhand weapon to make better use of heroic strike.

Then again, "surprisingly" rogues allways seem to have more dkp than poor ol' warriors... that damn tanking equipment.

Oh, being a hunter I'd rather go for those massive AP twohanders like ashkandi, the one from Naxx or the hunter polearms. This one is simply not worth spending dkp against rogues and fury warriors for a mere 26 AP, 1% crit and mostly useless 1% hit (assuming that u are at least BWL equipped an swim in +hit).
Even the Hakkari MH is better, but then again if in some months you get it allmost for free - grap it.

Wouldn't really try to grab this for my hunter. I have 8 +hit as it is so any more is really worthless. It has 2 less AP than FotF and right now I'm really drooling over Hatchet of Sundered Bone.

Someone should really make a lot more 1H weapons with really crappy DPS so that hunter could for once escape the weapon class debate...

I have not missed a single Raz kill since Naxx released in Classic (20 kills). This sword has never dropped for us, and I am the first person down for Iblis. I am dead inside.
