10 mp5 and 500 instant mana on a 3 minute cooldown works out to be 23.9 total mp5 if it's used every time the cooldown is up. Great healer trinket, you just have to remember to use it!

While the concept has mathematical merit, I think it makes more sense to assume a protracted battle when doing the calculations because that is the reason for stacking MP5 in the first place.

would ye not pop this trinket as soon as you have enough mana room to do so so its on cooldown ready to use again asap? maybe after your 2nd /3rd heal pop it and have it cd'ing for you? just a thought.

def better than scale, but would pass to a priest without scale cuz i have a scale ( more of an upgrade for them ) its sooo yummy too bad its off sapphiron long time before we see that

This is actually a really nice item for Priest or any other class who stacks a lot of mp/5. The 10 mp/5 is nice by itself but add to the fact that you also get 500 mana on a 3m cooldown and you've got an uber item for any class that lacks decent regen during combat.

Yes at first glance 500 mana doesn't seem like much but you must consider that if you have a base of 50 mp/5 (which is very nice in PvP gear) you are getting 300 mana back every 30 seconds now add the 500 mana for the trinket and you're sitting pretty with 800 mana back in 30 seconds which is about how long most fights last. Anyone who can't see the usefulness of this trinket probably shouldn't have it. =)

Normally, you wouldn't wait 3 minutes before popping this trinket so that 23.8 mana/5 number is wrong. If you wanted to min/max it, you would pop it when you are down the 500 mana so you can use it again 3 mins later.

If you have excel you can model this trinket pretty easily... A1 is the length of the fight, you pop the trinket 20 seconds in.

=10 + 5/A1 * (500 * ROUNDDOWN((A1 + 160)/180,0))

summary of what this trinket is capable of:

@ 20 seconds = 135 mana/5
@ 199 seconds = 22.56 mana/5
@ 200 seconds = 30 mana/5
@ 379 seconds = 23.19 mana/5
@ 380 seconds = 29.74 mana/5
@ 559 seconds = 23.42 mana/5
@ 560 seconds = 27.86 mana/5

and the longer the fight goes, the less meaningful that 20 seconds at the start becomes and you eventually get your 23.8 mana/5 trinket.

hmm guys this has a 1 minute cooldown, means you can get 20x500 = 10000 mana in a 20 minute battle. How is this not "that" good?

decent trinket, its around 23.9 mana/5sec when u use the cd everytime. good upgrade compared to shard of scale.

All those ppl who says that this trinket sucks. should go behind the sauna and shoot them selves in head. Ofcourse weapon is better drop than this. But this is THE best manaregening trinket for healers. U need to look from some other aspects it too. like isfreak said and calculated this gives approximetely 23mp /5 sec in 10 min fight witch is really nice compared to shard of the scales 16mp /5. and for burst fights its even wayyy more better than 23 mp/5sec.

This is a good trinket.

Assuming that you use the cooldown every 3 minutes,

3 min = 180 sec
180/5 (Since I am comparing this to mana/5 sec) = 36
500/36 = 13.889 (Rounded up)

With the static 10 mana per 5 sec it has already,

10 + 13.889 = 23.889

That is about 8 more regen than Shard of the Scale.

If that trinket droped when I killed the 4 horsemen I would've been really pissed off because I would expect something really legendary from Nax anyways..

dont mean to break up the prty but there were guilds that farmed nax on the test servers, one of those guilds complained about sapphiron being too easy and kul'thezard being to hard, and r currently farming nax 5 days a week

I just wonder that what kind of storm it would rise, should some hunter get this trinket on their hands (only after healers don't need it) some would ask why, well Hunters do use Mana and this has nice on use effect for those situations when you need mana... ie running some content on your own etc...

Still I would never ever take this off from healer, not that nuts but just makes me wonder how this would be shared should no healers need it.
