This recipe has the distinction of being one of only two practical non-BoP Engineering recipes for leveling from 370-375. If you're trying to reach 375 shortly after level 50, without farming help from high-level friends, you really only have a choice between this recipe and Adamantite Rifle.

Assuming the WH buyout prices are accurate:

4 Heavy Knothide Leather @ 3.5g/ea = 14g
2 Khorium Bar @ 5g/ea = 10g
2 Deep Peridot @ 1g/ea = 2g
2 Small Prismatic Shard @ 10g/ea = 20g

Total: 46g

That's kind of painful. But wait! Take this, send it to your Enchanting friend, and disenchant it! You'll get a Large Prismatic Shard, worth 25g.

Net cost: 21g

That's more like it. :D

The Adamantite Rifle ends up costing about 23g, and you have to sell the rifle on the AH to get even that much back. I recommend this over the rifle. However, check your local market prices - on my server I'm paying about 10g for each of those, which makes me a lot happier than 23g, but the rifle's only 1g more.

Edit: Just for reference, it took me 14 of these to go from 368 to 373. Don't underestimate how many mats you'll need to level this way :(

I'm not finding any engineer trainer in HH. I asked in zone as well and everyone said that the only master engineer is in Zang. I found that person but she doesn't have the recipe for sale.

I did find the captured gnome, but he won't talk to me (gnome gnomish engineer, alliance).

What gives? I'd really like those goggles for spotting gas pockets.

there is a Grand master engineer in HH, he is next to the entrance to the keep on the right, his name is lebowski, and he will talk to you whether you're gnomish or goblin

Yes, this is in for Phase1 classic BC and it's probably the only option to see the gas clouds on the minimap.
