A nice easy to get tanking gem. Buying in bulk might not be as cheap as the lesser Enduring Deep Peridot, but the bonus to your defense and stam is worth it.

The only straight upgrade to this is the Enduring Chrysoprase which drops from bosses in Heroics, so the Enduring Talasite might be the best bang for your buck for a long time.

I've heard by socketting this into an item with a dodge enchant the enchant is removed...can anyone confirm/deny this? My source is a thottbot comment so not sure how reliable it is, but definitely don't want to waste a nice enchant due to a bug.

Just to remember that Enduring Chrysoprase (and all hero bosses epic gem drops) is unique-equiped.

Great for https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=32756 at leas till you get https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=32223 if you can of course but this is a good choice for 1 point of Def but sac 20 hp. Worth it.

4 defense rating = 1.69104591 defense skill at level 70.

4 defense rating = +0.27056734% uncrushability for a protection-warrior at level 70.

Hands-down one of the best tanking gems IMO, especially for new 70s or newly-respecced tanks that are still working on boosting their defense and becoming uncrushable. I socketed nearly all of my slots with these at 70 and was easily able to reach 5.6% crit reduction (I use this in lieu of "uncrittable" as there are proven cases of tanks with even over 530 defense being crit by certain mobs) even with four or five pieces of green dps gear leftover from before respec. And being a compromise gem, I don't have to completely sacrifice stamina for avoidance, I can have an acceptable amount of avoidance and enough HP to not be laughed out of any groups I try to get for heroics.

Also... does it muck with dodge on the same item.... or all tiems worn? I just got Vambraces of Courage and I wanna use this one!

sounds similar to the mp5 bug, where if you had 2 items/enchants with eg 6mp5, one would cancel hte other out
though I hear that's fixed now.

is this to be fixed in the coming patch?

Just talked to a GM about it. They were going to look into the problem. The problem occurs on my character (70 pala) when I teleport or heartstone. Switching gear should take care of the problem. At least it does for me.

I just put 2 of these into my Heavy Clefthoof Boots, one in a yellow slot, one in a Blue slot, yet instead of getting +8 def and +12 stam, I only got +4 defense (wasn't watching the stam increase, I assume it was only +6).
Is this a bug or is there some hidden mechanic in the game and it won't allow gems to double up?

It should only give 4 defense. 1 Defense is about 2 defense rating, so the 8 defense rating from the 2 gems should be 4 defense statwise.
