It seems that this item (at least when linked in-game) no longer shows up as being 10 charges. Unsure what the cooldown on the Use is. Also unsure if the +spell crit stacks with Moonkin aura.

This necklace has a 1 hour cooldown per use -- however, its still good for this reason. I've found this necklace to be really nice, and very affordable to make for maximising group dps.

For instance, on many boss fights where we have our "team caster dps" group together, which consists of elemental shaman, 2 mages, 1 warlock(destro) and 1 shadow priest, I had each person crafted one of these necklaces and should we wipe, someone else will buff us for that attempt. With just aura and this neck you gain 5% crit. (Totem of wrath, and the necklace aura). It could get even better if you had a Balance spec druid in place of the mage or warlock.

I suggest giving it a try.

I guess no one has noticed how good of a paladin tanking necklace this is.

It gives defense, giving dodge and parry chance, which is needed for tanking.
It gives Spell Damage, extremely useful for paladin tanks
It gives Intellect, which gives spell critical hit chance and mana.

yes its nice but if you put on a different neclase while this is ecuipted it will dispell the buff

Intellect, defense, and spell damage? Yes, that's a paladin tank item. Tankadins use spell damage to maintain threat.

Stamina will have to come from other items.

The spell crit aura will be mainly useful in a party with casters.

Note that this is a relatively cheap way to create a Large Prismatic Shard for an active miner/jewelcrafter with nothing better to do with the Adamantite Powder.

4 Khorium Ore: 8G
16 Adamantite Powder: Essentially free, as a by-product of prospecting, and not easily sold.
4 Primal Earth: 16G
2 Azure Moonstone: Essentially free, as a by-product of prospecting. Might get 4G for the Solid cut.

You'll probably make more money if you can sell the materials directly. However, the issue is that the auction house is often flooded with all of these ingredients, and they are hard to sell. On the other hand, there aren't enough Large Prismatic Shards in the game, they don't have a listing fee, and they're easy to sell, possibly at very high prices. So, this recipe is one way to recover some gold from the by-products of prospecting.

The Braided Eternium Chain is another good way to get a large prismatic shard. It requires only three Mercurial Adamantite, Eternium instead of Khorium, and no gems.

What does the 10 charges mean? I mean obviously youc an use it 10 times to charge your teammates but is there a way to replenish it or is it after 10 uses they have to get a new one or not have that bonus?

it cannot be recharged. once you use the 10 charges you can keep it as is or make a new one for more charges.

this is a very odd neck. the defence rating is rather useless to most caster classes, and a paladin tank would want stamina on it. also spell crit isn't very highly rated by pally tanks as several of their holy dmg spells used for tanking cannot crit.

even ignoring the def this a very good caster dps neck when a charge is used. the mats are cheap enough for a jewelcrafting caster to make a new one every week or so and just vendor the used ones.

Buffs do not stack, tried this earlier, and once you remove the necklace your buff is dispelled, however the rest of your party keeps their buff.

Does this share a cooldown with Eye of the Night?

I'm wondering if I use Chain of the Twilight Owl and we wipe, can I put on Eye of the Night and use that instead?

This item seems to just BEG for a moonkin druid. You're right, it doesn't fit in with about any other class, but for a moonkin? PERFECT. Intellect increases their spell crit, mana pool AND their regen if they're specced that way in balance, damage and healing (for when you pop back out after the fight) and the spell crit would go very nicely with the moonkin aura buff. Would work well for resto, too, but since I was searching for moonkin items and came across this...

Meh. Could be used for a Mage Tank in Gruul's. But other then that, yea id say a Moonkin would get better benefits from it.

Everything you need to know about this neck (TBC Classic):

The buff acts like an aura, applies to all party members within 40 yards. For example, in a raid, if you cast it in group 1 then move to group 2, group 1 members lose the buff and group 2 members gain the buff.

The buff goes away if you use the item then unequip it.

Does not get destroyed after 10 charges, the on use just no longer works.

Stacks with Eye of the Night and Jade Pendant of Blasting. Does not stack with itself.
