The Copper Powder is useless.

I will to make this post on every ore powder page in hopes of somebody letting me know the answer.

Does ANYBODY know if ore powder (copper powder, iron powder, thorium powder...etc.) does have, will have, or for some crazy reason beyond reality did have any purpose in this game except for the soul use of either selling, taking up bag space, or destroying?
I appreciate all responses.

As is most of grey items.

It would far more better if these powders could be reused to something.

When I first found this item after learning the Prospecting skill, I wondered if it could be reforged into a bar of copper. Why not? But then I remembered how much realism blizzard put into WoW and laughed at the thought that I might find a use for this. So I'm asking, does this really disappear into a blackhole (vendor) only to create cash where there was no cash before?

This makes sense. Blizzard have to input some sort of penalty for prospecting over making bars. Otherwise, JC would be even more OP.

Not that its any use but you get 1 copper powder when you use the jewel craft "Prospecting" skill on 5 copper ore

You would think you could use a whole bunch to make another ingut or something but I guess they havent thought of that yet :P

I have jewelcrafting and this is a by-product of prospecting for gems. But i havent found any use for it. I have copper and tin varities. If its just garbage for vendors then sweet i guess lol >< but if it has a use someone knows about let me know plz ^^

It's grey text. Grey text items are generally vendor fodder.

why should a master jewelcrafter sell this if it doesn't have any pourpouse?

well depends if you want to level your jewelcrafting which is harder than mining
