If you don't have access to higher level gems I suggest that you fill this weapon with three +8 AP gems that you can purchase from one of the gem vendors. You don't get the socket bonus, but the extra AP makes up for it.

Picked this up on my paladin a while ago. I put 3 gems with strength and crit rating on them onto it. It definitely should last until I get the Hoined Voidaxe.

I believe Hatebringer, with decent (green at least) sockets, can be better than Honed Voidaxe (for 2H melee classes where 1 str = 2 AP).

Three 12 AP sockets gives it 86 attack power, more than Honed Voidaxe, possibly giving it a better top-end. Depending on your level, which has more crit depends. Lower levels may benefit from the 22 rating, higher levels will probably prefer the 30 agi on Voidaxe.

As a leveling warrior, though, I much prefer Honed Voidaxe on account of Poleaxe specialization. Simply because until I get better gear than questables, my crit is horrendous.

Keep in mind the thought that Hatebringer might be "better" than Honed Voidaxe is strictly from a DPS point of view. Leveling players will probably find it easier to get the Voidaxe, and will also love the huge stam boost (45 stam). It only has the capability of having more attack power than Honed Voidaxe.

Being lazy, I of course have not checked any numbers on how the AP would affect your DPS or top-end damage, but it's just a thought.

Got the hammer with my paladin. Very good hammer. Socket it with 2x 3Crit rating and 3 strenght and 1x 3strenght and 4 stamina. With that you also get socket bonus. Fantastik hammer.

I have this on my pally atm and i fell it will last til Honed Voidaxe.If you put 2 +12AP gems and a +12 Stam gem in ther itd b rocking til about late 60's

It sucks because I couldn't get my hands on Hellreaver or Warsong Howling Axe...so I got Helboar Carving Blade, then I got Hatebringer a few lvls later. this lasted me for quite some time.

I got it on my 4th run... its gonna be a killer to lvl up my 2h mace skill but i think its worth it! Put a few gems on it and u got a winner.

Mine - Ran Underbog x5 finally dropped :) i won.

Now, for my legs and shoudlers to drop. So sick of running this damned instance :( go go dagger x4 bp x1 from swamp lord and x4 skulldigger legs and x1 fang :(

I just got mine, looks like a Doomulus Prime with a black glow. Boss is pretty tricky. Has a nature volley for 2k damage(Plus a stacking dot to the main tank) with a very specific angle. Everyone but the tank needs to basically be at/behind his foot and adjust without dying. We all had 0 Nature Resist, should be alot easier with.

Im a warrior, and i dont care if a pally rolls. there shouldnt be debate. its good for both class's, i personally love 2H weapons for my warrior, when im not tanking. and this sucka way nice, any warrior pally or Sham-Druid who can get there hands on this should. but i would let the warrior-pally take first.

ever heard of slam? weapon damage plus roughly about 80 puts this warrior damage pretty high.. when a rage bar is full theres nothing that cuts 'em down like several heroic strikes on a row, making this ting a beast for warriors.

This is an excellant weapon for pallies and arms warriors. I am spec'd arms warrior and would love to have it. I am MT in our guild and would love to know from some of you more experienced players what the best weapons are for an arms warrior, I usually use 2H sword or mace for fun and a 1H and shield when I tank. Should I be also looking at polearms as well?

I got this on my ret pally a couple days ago ad I have to say it fricken pwns! Im able to finally 1 shot people in SM and its rly cool, i added crit bonus, attack power and mana every 5 secs to mine and its da bomb. Still need to get it enchanted to make it even more powerful/cooler. All in all all pallies and arms warrs should run underbog as many times as possible to get this wep.

Two things:
This matches my new epic horsey nicely.

And I doubt a warr will out dps a lvl 70 who's just AoE. Blizzard w/ 5 enemies in it does like 3 times more dps than a warr....... Sometihng about your story just can't be trusted.

BTW, what were you raiding w/ people scaling form lvl 60-70?

got this yesterday... added a few choice gems and bang. a pretty pally weapon. i have 4 weapons that i use regularly. im a holy pally and i sometimes just want to smash things... GREAT HAMMER TO DO SO.

i usually use a 1h and shield but this rocks for lone questing. when healing i use https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=24378/coilfang-hammer-of-renewal. i think it works well for now.

I'm a lvl 64 ret paladin and would love to have this mace. It's an awesome ret paladin weapon and also a warrior weapon. Even if it doesn't have +int or anything that most people who consider for a paladin, even with my 5000+ mana pool I would love to get rid of my hellreaver to get this mace. When I'm questing I use the slowest and most damage dealing 2h weapon I can find. This way I can crit with SoC a lot more. To say that a paladin can't need roll on this isn't right, they deserve it as much as any warrior, shaman or druid. It's called "rolling" if a warrior and paladin are fighting over it, then roll for it and congratulate whoever won it and move on.

Just got this... upgrade over ice-barbed spear (mind you I loved this weapon.)

But 2h maces are much better for me. Considering human pallies get +5 weapon skill to 1h/2h maces.

Just put on some cheap green gems with +crit ratings. Also invested in a +35agi enchant (costed me damn near 300g)

On top of that, I had to respec from ret to holy so I can heal for this instance (Underbog,) than spec back to ret. Costed me about 45g there.

The weapon personally costed me..

+35 AGI ench - 300g
3x gems - 6g
Spec - 45g

Total: 351g

Was it worth it? Well, I still gotta level to 63 to use it (62 atm.) Will update when I test it out.

I just tested it out and imo, its worth it. I have enough crit that when lucky, I can kill crappy 70's.

Plus, I've wasted a +35agi enchant on things worse than this one. Like my verigan's fist and ice-barbed spear.

P.S. Until the quest reward in Nagrand, this weapon will last 3-4 levels, which imo is a huge chunk of lvling in outlands.

I would say this weapon is great for arms warriors and retri paladins. The sockets make it realy versatile. Must be one of the best weapons you can get on this level due to the 3 socket spots.

Man this baby just dropped today while I was in the Underbog, now get this im in a group with a level 68 shaman who has a the $%^&ing Oathkeeper, THE OATHKEEPER OK! And I have my nice lil blade of misfortune now this thing drops right and the ^&*!ing $%^&*! lvl 68 shammy rolls NEED AND WINS! Like wtf why the hell would a shaman with the oathkeeper roll need on the Hatebringer! man i farmed that goddamn instance now i dont know if ill be playing WoW again anytime soon.. Ninjas ruin the game i wish them all a painful death.. Just so you know the Ninja is Angusburger on the Gurubashi realm a lvl 68 assholw

lol hilarious listening to u idiots argue over which char is better i laugh this weapon is for anyone y? because it doesnt say a specific class ! hahah but hey look im a 63 MS warrior ive tried every single character and im happy with my warrior ive beaten twinked out rogues, kiting !@#$%^&s, monster retribution pallies, and yes even over twinked boomkins, pimped out mages, windfury shammies, and personally warlocks dont exist to me. BUT thats not to say i never got my butt wiped countless times guys quit the argument cuz u will never win! :D

ps this weapon looks sick and it dropped for me the first try so i guess the drop chance isnt to low... correct me if im wrong
