Just looted it from a Jaggal Clam. Just like the Jaggal Pearl there is no use listed. Seems to be more rare than the Jaggal Pearl.

Before 2.1 Im stocking up on these because they only sell for 1g or less on my server then im going to resell them in the crafted gem, going to be a good money make for anyone.

Wowhead suggests a buyout of 1g, and the fact is if you put a buyout of 10g it will be gone within 10 minutes or less. The average is around 30g on Nazjatar. I bought one to make my Necklace of the Deep for tanking, and it was well worth it.

On my Server some newbs don't know the worth of it so you can buy it cheap an resell it. Keep looking your AH!

It's been on the Nordrassil AH for a while, 50 gold each. Thats way overpriced, but now there are none!

The buyout price here is wrong, they go for around 30 gold.

in what i guess you'd call early tbc heroics, they seemed to drop all the time, but there was little to use them for. when the recipe for purified shadow pearl was introduced (patch 2.1 i think) they basically stopped dropping.

I've just had one in my reward bag from the new 2.4 fishing daily quest. So if you have a character that wants some, might be wise to do this quest as often as you can. :)

wow thinking it was as expensive as the jaggel pearl... i destroyed it.. i guess il know for next time, never destroy something unless its grey ( which is still dumb considering the 10-25g greys from fishing daily) i still havent learned :(

My friend and i where killing the naga in Zanga today, both getting jaggal clams drop .. then a squeal of delight from her...she had got a shadow pearl out of a clam..

If only i had gone for the target on the left instead of right. lol

yup just really in a round about way pointing out that they drop from the Jaggal clams in Zanga for sure..she had another drop yesterday -.-

I got one out of a Jaggal Pearl too. I can't believe how lucky i am. I think i'm going to quit my job and print out a screenshot of the loot and just stare and drool at it all day.

In the next patch(which is gonna be a big one) along with opening the black temple they are adding a few recipes. Mainly to jewel crafting but shadow pearl is used in quite a few nice recipes.

killed a bunch of these Lagoon Eeels & Bogstrok Razorclaws in Zangamarsh, careful to target them specifically.

no Shadow Pearl dropped. not even the clams they come in

for what its worth.
either very unlucky or the above loot info is just wrong

I was grinding the mobs in that cave at the very south of Zangarmarsh last night for Sporregar rep (15 per kill woot!) and was there killing for about 3 hours straight. I got about 50 clams and opened 17 Jaggal pearls, 1 Golden Pearl and 2 of these Shadow Pearls. They appear to have a pretty low drop rate (based on those stats) but I haven't seen what they're for yet. I'll bank 'em just in case :)

these Shadow Pearls are worth anywhere from 25-40g
depending on ur server's market

Dropped from Jaggal Clams in Zaggarmarsh.

Drop rate for clams is small
Drop rate for pearls smaller
Drop rate for Shadow pearl very low

Great for JC skill up by making purified Shadow pearl which sells for about 40g to 50G

Looks like I finally got some luck on drops then. Was killing the Fenclaws for the natural armor quest in Zangarmarsh, and out of mebbe 10 clams, i got one golden and two shadow pearls. Can't argue with that

Actually called Necklace of the Deep, and has 21 Agility :) 2 red sockets indeed and socket bonus is +3 Hit Rating. Nice for rogues indeed :P

The rates for this are ridiculous. I farmed rep for Sporaggar till I had Exhalted. I got several jaggal pearls, 4 golden, and 0 of these. That's just stupid at that point.

yeah not only is it good for priest, Resto Druids that use Tree of Life form get 25% of their spirit added to their healing i say that makes this gem way better for them

I have farmed everything in zanglemarsh from the naga to the southern caves, run steamvaults, slave pens killed fenclaw i have been killing and grinding for the shadow pearl for 4 days now, and have gotten none, zero drop rate really sucks on these

Talk about total exasperation and aggravation! After reading about the Funggor Cave being the place to farm for both Shadow and Jaggal Pearls, I have spent 5 hours total farming round and round that place, only to have a single Jaggal Pearl drop. Blizzard has GOT to improve the drop rate even slightly as it is not even fun or rewarding to play WoW for this item anymore. Those I have spoke to on my server (Nagrand US) firmly agree with me on this.

I got one of these today. I can't remember if it came from the bag I got for completing the daily fishing quest or if it came from a crate I got fishing a Highland Mixed School spawn I fished.

Sold it for 40g on the AH, and it was only on there less than 4 hours.

Well,the prices change fast on Emeriss,but I love it when I see several Shadow Pearls for 20-25 and then of course by them all and sell the Purified Shadow Pearl for nearly 60g.Finally being a JC pays off.Hehe :D
