Looks like they nerfed this in 2.0.7, opening the container now spawns a Third Key Fragment Guardian, a 70 elite voidwalker that hurts like heck.

If you take 2 rogues it is possible to kill the voidwalker, but ATM it seems glitched and wont let us actually loot him for the key frag.

Okay, I just did this 2 man with me (Druid) and a random rogue (Patch 2.0.8), the tac is to wait for the patrol to go way and then click the container and dps the fragment guardian fast before the patrol arrives again, i got the guardian to 40% myself alone when I first tried, before the patrol killed me... Notice, the patrol hits HARD!

This is duoable for 2 rogues.

Strategy: Stealth past the guards. Past the first boss up the ramp.
When you get the the corridor after the ramp you see a dead robot and some other dead corpses. The robot casts a lightning bolt thingy on people who are stealthed nearby so it's not possible to just stealth by. To get past him this just pop sprint (in stealth) and use Cloak of Shadow. You will hopefully resist all his bolts and get past. If you get hit just vanish after you passed him.

When you get in the room watch for the patrolling void and the monster thing that is running around fast. Go directly to the right and you'll spot the arcane container.
There will be two of the dead corpses nearby but don't worry about them, they don't aggro if you stay close to the wall.

Tactics for the fragment mob:
One of the rogues (preparation is nice) opens the container so that the guard spawns when the voidwalker is in the middle of the room. Then use vanish to get back into stealth. The guardian will stay summoned so now you can both get your opening moves.

Put poisons on your weapons for extra dps and wait for the voidwalker to move to the middle of the room. Use distract when he is there for some extra seconds and start to dps the guardian down. Try to stunlock as much as possible (don't kidney shot at the same time). Save evasion for the add voidwalker. If you have good gear you can kill the mob fast, maybe even before the void is back but if not just check who the void is attacking and pop evasion if you are attacked. Use all your cooldowns and trinkets for max dps and just dps the guardian down. The void is immune against blind so no idea trying that. T
he guardian should hopefully die before evasion wears off and you can use vanish, or if you die after you killed the guardian just stealth back asap and loot the fragment.

I guess druids could follow on this one too but not sure how they are supposed to pass the antistealth robot.

I tried soloing this the other night. It's a little nerve-racking to stealth to the urn itself but certainly doable, I didn't have much trouble using CloS to get by the robot. Opened up the urn and vanished when the guardian spawned.

I tried to kill him in the urn corner but it's very sketchy knocking him off before the pat comes back. The voids have weird pathing so it's really hard to figure out when you'll actually have a decent amount of time.

I then tried distracting both pats and pulling the guardian back into the robot room. That part wasn't too hard except for the annoyance of waiting for the two voids to line up in the center of the room. The problem was that the void on that side would aggro when he came close to the doorway. He comes way too close to be safe in the robot room unless I'm missing something. Maybe there's a sweet spot where neither the robot nor void will aggro in that room.

In any case after 90 minutes of repeatedly waiting for vanish to CD I just gave up. The next night I joined a PUG and got the fragment. If you have a rogue friend it's probably easily duoable like others have said.

It is actually possible for a rogue to solo this.
I did not have very good gear, about 6,7k hp.
The "Sweet spot" to stand at when fighting the required mobs is in the room where the arcane robot is standing wich requires you to vanish. The right corner opposite where you enter that room is the place to stand. Even though the voidspawn will get close to this spot, it will not be able to see you because of the wall.
First kill the corpse spawns close to the corner, then pull the white protean spawn when the void closest to the robot room is out of aggro range, kill it at the sweet spot. Now run over and open the arcane container when the void patrol closest to it is out of aggro range. Quickly stealth when the opening timer has finished so you dont get aggro from the elemental.
The tricky part comes here. You have to time it so both voids are at the middle of the voidspawn room, this may require some distracts to get them there simoultaneously. Cheap shot, backstab, sprint and run to the sweet spot while hugging the walls in both rooms. If done correctly you will only have aggro from the elemental and can kill it safely.
It took me two tries to get this right so it shouldnt be too hard.

I was able to solo this as a 70 rogue ar/pre spec. wait for the voidwalker to pat back to the center of the room, open the key case then vanish. the key mob won't despawn. wait for your cooldowns. when the voidwalker path back to the center of the room, hit sprint, distract them, run back to the mob, and start killing it. hit blade fury, ar, and evasion. then hit prep, then ar and evasion again.

i have mostly blue/green quest gear except for gladiator helm and both maces. i forgot to use blade fury and ar and i was still able to burn him down. the voidwalker did aggro me but i killed the mob, loot the key and died. i rez and flew back to shat.

Solo'd this 3rd frag as a FERAL DRUID.
(Right after I did the same thing for the 2nd key frag in Steamvaults.)

1)As posted above you stealth in to the hallway above the first bosses area....I would suggest that you do this naked, if something goes wrong its nice to have zip for repairs.

2)Just before you get to the Sentinel pop ur SPRINT and cross your fingers....
I aimed myself from the right edge of the hallway cutting ot the left to avoid potentially aggro'ing the dead body on the right side. If you sucessfully resist the Sentinels shock and dont aggro the body pile you'll find urself in the void's room and a couple other pats, hang a hard left in the room and get ur bearings.

3) Once you see where everything is moving, make your way to the back corner where you container is and swap gear and pot, eat, etc...when the void pats into the middle of the room. Course you better get back into stealth be4 he gets back.

4)Ok ..its go time, you have figured out the voids pat, you have all your buffs up and gear is set...next time the void goes outta range, pop up and open that container!

5) This is where I have some bad news...If you can't drop 600+ dps on that elemental thats summoned, just make a full arc run and save yourself the repairs, time and headaches of trying to do this solo. Unlike the rogue who can summons it and vanish to setup their opening attacks, having just shifted if your feral you'll have 40 rage tops at the start, which gimps you. Anyways, cut loose and dont expect to come out of this alive...if you can hit the 600dps i was talking about, then just be4 the void comes into aggro range the mob will die and u can re-stealth, if your just a bit underdps then you will likely kill the summoned elemental, and aggro the void and die.
a) No biggy, loot the frag quickly be4 the void kills u.(If your in typical dps gear, lucky if that takes 5 secs)
b) Wash and repeat the stealth run again ...only diff is that you wear HP gear to get as high as u can...blow by the sentinel and voids, dead bodies, heck u dont care cause your not coming outta this alive anyways and head right to the corner and Autoloot right be4 you die.

In a perfect world you can accomplish this all with no deaths.
However, in reality your relying on a resist of the sentinels detection/shock and very good dps from pre-kara gear that you might not have unless you have done your mathcraft homework. So, if you get lucky you might get it done without a nick...but dont expect it to be like the SV shard that is beyond easy to obtain.

cannot get past the mechanical guard in the room prior to this, i am a druid with 3/3 in imp stealth, stealth on cloak and a +stealth trink >.< the rogue who opened and came with me did it easy, druids cant :(

2 rogues in stealth; very easy to get it (after 2.0.7 ofc). The elemental went down easily. Only problem was aggro of the voidwalker in the room. But if you open the container when he is at farthest point and 1 rogue use distract .. it is ok. After auto loot we vanished and HS after. Easy!

If you're a rogue you can solo this. The process is as follows:

Stealth through the first hallway to the right then up the glass ramp. At the tunnel you will come to you will see an arcatraz sentinel. This mob "appears" dead, but has an AOE effect that will pull you out of stealth if you're not smart. Smart entails that you use sprint and COS BEFORE you enter the hallway. Even doing this you may have to vanish, but normally do not. The COS will prevent you from being pulled out of stealth 9/10 times. Once through the hallway make a sharp right into the corner. There you will find the arcane container. The process that follows is slightly more involved but definitely do-able. What you do is wait for the void that patrols the area to go away (need to wait until he's at the circle in the middle of the room, or right next to it, their aggro range is huge). Then you pop out of stealth opening the container. Let the guardian hit you once, and then vanish. There are two ways to do the next part, I'd suggest the no waiting plan. First you can then wait for vanish CD (this really only allows you to vanish after killing the gaurdian), or you can do what I did. As soon as the void makes his second pass around you, wait for him to get near the circle in the middle of the room again. Immediately start fighting the gaurdian, using all the CDs you have to your advantage. This part is VERY important, when the void is beginning to make his path back towards you, you need to "distract" him to buy you some more time. Do this at maximum range, or you run the chance of him seeing you and blowing the entire run. By the time the void is back in aggro range you should have the guardian down and the key frag looted. I did this my third attempt (didn't pay attention to the COS BEFORE hallway first two times). With decent gear (and I do mean decent, not great- I'd suggest no greens, but you can try if you have potions for agi, etc) you can have this done is no time. Total time on third attempt was 4 minutes. GL

Trying to Duo this with a druid and rogue was difficult. We could make it to the sentinal near the end with relative ease (easy for me the rogue, but druid wasn't speced to have improved stealth, so more often spotted).

Here's the breakdown of how to do this with druids in the party, but you need at least one rogue.

Enter and go to the hallway with mobs streaming down the cooridor. Use distract to stop them a minute while you all enter first half. Wait patiently and then make a break into the second half of the hall when you can. Wait by the exit of the hall for an opening and break right out of the door to the corner of the next room. It's a safe place to relax a sec. Watch out moving through this room b/c there's mobs that spawn very fast and often spawned underneath us as we were stealthing across this room.

From here, pretty easy for a bit. You pass through an empty hall that has two corpses lying in it. Don't get close to them, they pop, blow your stealth, and spawn adds. Leave this room and head to your right. Hug the wall and make your way to a ramp that goes upward from the right side of the room. Watch out for a pat the will sometimes be on the ramp. He is non-elite, so if you like, you can catch him up top (it's safe) and dispose of him.

At the top of this ramp is another hallway with some corpses in front of it and inside is a "dead" robot sentinal (he's not dead of course). If you want, pop the corpses just outside the hallway near to you one at a time and kill the adds because it just makes it easier if you don't have to worry about them.

The Problem: The sentinal will blow your stealth. When you enter the hallway he will periodicaly blast you with an "arcane discharge" tha will target you in stealth and blow your cover. Don't use an arcane protection potion to try to avoid getting your cover blown, because although it will prevent you from taking damage... it won't keep you in stealth (for the druid we tried this). Instead, do the following:

Rogue hits is in stealth and hits sprint and uses Cloak of Shadows right when you enter hallway. CloS only lasts long enough to keep you safe through the hall if you sprint. It will wear off before your'e out of the hallway otherwise, so you have to use sprint.

Once rogue is on other side of hallway he should step to left of doorway to avoid pats who come near. Wait 'till the big voidwalker guy (screecher i think) and the roaming little mob are near the center of the room they patrol. Use distract on them to hold them still even for a second. Rogue heads to hallway where he just came from, de-stealths and ranged pulls the sentinal in the hallway. You will attract adds. Pop evasion and run along the left wall, hugging wall, and run as far into the room as you can, away fron the hallway, and always run left! You have to pull the sentinal and mobs as far into this room as you can before you vanish (or die). don't worry about dying, you can always get back there easily as a rogue.

AS SOON AS THE DRUID SEES THE ROGUE BEGIN TO PULL THE SENTINAL start to head into the hallway in stealth and book it towards the other side. You don't want to be in this room at all when the sentinal gets back. You may need to pop your druid sprint to do this. When you get to the other side of the hallway head right out the door and hug the wall. Head to the right hand corner and the container with the key is sitting there. If you wedge yourself in the far corner, there is a roaming pat who will come very very close to you but should not see through your stealth.

If rogue dies, just wait for rogue to run back to where you are, doesn't take too long. Wait for the roaming pat who comes near the key to be far away from you, open the box, blow cooldowns and kill the guy who pops out, loot key, and try to restealth if you can. If you die at this point... who cares? you have the key fragment.

NOTES: I recommend doing this entire stealth run NAKED because there is a very good chance that you are going to die a lot. Just put your clothes and gear on when your'e about to fight the key guardian (you can do this in stealth of course). We probably died 10 or more times due to mobs spawning on top of us in the first cooridor and room, and figuring out methods of getting the druid past the sentinal. Because we were naked... no repair bill :)

Just finished Keying my restokin druid with another feral druid. Not sure if there's a better way, but we managed.

What you need:
-4 Sneaking Potions (2 each)
-One druid to heal, or if both of you do enough dps, none... but I would recommend healing.
-Either ONE druid with SS + rebirth, or TWO druids with SS.

As soon as you enter the Arcatraz, get ready and use your stealth pots. Prowl your way through the tunnel with the streaming crawlers. As long as you guys are hugging the wall, you both shouldn't pull. STEALTH POTION IS A MUST.

Keep stealthing your way until you reach the first dead body, but don't get near it. If you do get near it and spawn the worms, both druids should be able to kill them easily. Take a break here, and wait for your stealth potion to renew from its CD.

Follow up the ramp towards the voidwalker boss room. As you head it, you'll be "shocked" by one of the robots and your prowl will be removed. At this point, use dash and turn right as soon as you enter the key room and hug the corner where the key is. Die here.

Once the mobs are a good distance away from you, quickly both pop SS, or SS and rebirth. The feral druid should immedietly use tranquility for quick heals, and pop into bear to start tanking. Resto druid throw on innervate and which ever druid needs key unlocks. Down the boss fast and quick. The resto druid can occasionally throw wraths and moonfires to speed things up. Chances are, you'll aggro the pat running nearby it. Have the bear tank him, but at this point, the key keeper should be near dead. Kill him, quickly loot, and just die.

Release spirit and you're done.

Or you could just get a group? The container isnt that far into the instance, and people will want to do it anyway for the rep. Groups arent as hard to get as people make out to be. Ask around. Dont just expect a group to be formed for you :P

Seriously people....why do you need to dump crap on each other all the time, its just not necessary. If someone wants to spend the energy to post how they soloed then let them, thats their business, ok it may be sickening but thats their trip. Its bad enough running an instance with people that need to raise their self esteem at the expense of others, by putting them down. Do us a favor....if you can't say something nice or useful, then please keep your thoughts to yourself. If you don't like what your reading just skip it and read what others have posted.

WOW i think i have grouped with these people b4. i am looking forward to doing an instance that has caused so much tension.. i play a rogue but still intend to go with a group. I simply think it is more enjoable this way.

If you're on a low pop server you could be waiting 2 hours and still have no group form. Its nice to have someone to tell you another option anyway. There's no need to be a jerk about others trying to help.

Soloed as a rogue. Above guide helped a lot, sprint and cos through sentinal room. When you get to the key part, hide in the corner till pat is out of range. Once out of range, summon guardian, pop a ton of cooldowns, go to town. Add will path back and aggro, blind him. Kill fast, loot key, vanish if you can. If not, die and grats.

The guardians seem really easy for me to solo. I'm mostly in merch, which i'm sure doesn't hurt, but i was at 80% after sv one without health stone or anything. So it's doable, just need to rushdown the guardian.

Still soloable. Using all the information posted above I made it through with 1200 HP to spare. Few things to recommend: Definitely run it naked till you are about to go through and attack the guy that comes out of the urn. A bit tricky and if you're not extremely careful the patrols will eat you up. Do a naked run and open the urn first. That will save you about 4-5 secs on the actual run and probably a few gold in repairs.
Combat sword spec rogue with 1245 atp. AR+ dual trinkets + 1 healing pot+ stam scroll+ mongoose+ ravager dog was all that was needed. Only about 7500 Hp when buffed as above.
Sprint+evasion+CoS+vanish got me through the door while naked taking only 300 dmg. Sit in the first corner on the left for 5 min till your CDs are all good them make your way around to the near the urn. Distract+sprint and cheap shot then your home free. Wait to use evasion till you aggro the void. Quick loot and vanish. Then unequip your gear and eat it for the quick rez outside. HS back to Shat and head off to BM for the final part.

k jus so u guys know yes it is not very easy to solo ex if ur not a druid or rouge but hunter can do also it invoves a druid as well my bro is a hunt i did on my own as a druid but my bro got pissed so i got a guildy to ss the hunt and we ran in i aggroed he fiened i died. i ran bak he used ss i healed ran again this time he didnt die and i stayed stealthed we ran one more time past boss died i rezzed and rezzed him killed pats and the gaurdain.. there u go

Very tough, but soloable as a well geared sub rogue. takes a lot of sprinting, vanishing, good timing and a lot of patience. Took me 25 minutes.

Third Key Fragment drop from Third Fragment Guardian. This guy appear after interact with Arcane Container in The Arcatraz.
To enter into The Arcatraz you need someone with Key to the Arcatraz or a rogue with lockpick on the group.
Arcane Container is located on the room with Dark Elementals (right side), after the first boss.

Rogue can solo, assuming you have decent gear. You're able to sneak past everything except the robot playing possum. Sprint/vanish past. The large void that paths very close to the container will path away, and you have about 30 seconds without him before he paths back into aggro range. You can add 10s if you distract him during his pathing. If you do it early enough into his pathing you're able to distract him again to buy yourself another 10s

Done as a frost mage and rogue duo.

Mage can get there using invisibility chained with invisi pot (Swiftness pot into invis might also work, but can get more distance chaining invisibility).

Stand on the first ledge, pop invis, as soon as it hits drop down and starting running for the first corridor, before invisibility drops chain the invisibility pot at 1s. You need to turn right in the next room and tuck into the last nook on the right before the next narrow corridor and hug the corner, wait for invisibility to come off cooldown here. There is the big pack of wandering mobs and a smaller pack of 3 which comes near too, neither will aggro if you are stood in the right corner.

Wait for the big pack to patrol away, and the smaller pack to wander a bit away (use enemy nameplates to track their proximity). Pop invis and move along the right wall closer to the corridor while you wait for invisibility to kick in (You will need every second you can get if you want to avoid another invisibility potion cooldown). Once invisible, run straight through the corridor and for the ramp - here if you've made good distance/time you can blink most of the way up the ramp at the last second of invisibility, or alternatively pop another pot (you could go swiftness pot > invis and would make the distance too). There might be a protean horror on the ramp or otherwise when you come out, so be ready to deal with that if necessary (none elite), but your rogue should tell you what's happening with that or have already dealt with it. Otherwise wait for it to patrol up and kill it.

When I ran over the corpses in the next corridor, the grubs came out and attacked me while I was invisible (But the sentinel didn't zap me until I was visible). So, instead we decided to kill the sentinel. Has 40k health but can be kited/slowed, so you can kite up and down the corridor and nova/blink through it. A few shatter combos and a cold snap later and it should be dealt with easily enough

Now you just have the room with the fragment. Rogue should open the container and vanish, then monitor the void walker that patrols near to it, and give mage the sign to invis passed the first void walker, rogue distracts the second to give maximum time. Drop out of invis and nuke, before the void walker patrols back. Loot before the voidwalker patrols back and you die (You will die now, bon appetit).

Mage can also solo to the second fragment easily enough.
