It's obtained at normal mode. Durotan is Thrall's father, wich Durotar (Orgrimmar zone) also is named after. If lore means anything to you, this is quite an item.

Wow, this chestpiece is awesome. I was browsing possible blue chestpieces to use for my warrior, and this is amazingly strong. As an Arms Warrior, there is only one better chestplate (assuming all BPs with 3 sockets have identical gems): Crimsonforge Breastplate https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=27906
This item, assuming equal gems, is even stronger than the Doomplate Chestguard https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28403 , with 1 more strength and 7 more stamina in return for 3 less crit. This item is definitely worth getting, as Durnholde is an easy, easy instance and Arcatraz, the source of Doomplate BP, is arguably the most difficult non heroic 5man.

Durotan, Father of Thrall (Who is the current Warchief of the Horde), was (like the text says) a chieftain of the Frostwolf Clan. He is also the childhoodfriend of Orgrim Doomhammer (Which Orgrimmar is named after).

Would seem quite an honour to wear something that belonged to a hero like this.

A great prize for pvp ARMs warriors. Better overall stats than the epic BoE Chestplate of the Exile because you can stack up more stamina with good gem socketing and gain a dash of much needed resilience in the process. Great armor that's not too hard to get. Sad fact is though it looks pretty awful but that's what guild tabbards are for after all.

Nice chest piece for PvP, probably some of the first resilience you are going to get (if you choose to follow the sockets by color). Also a nice piece of lore from the yellow text, always nice to see that. :)

got this today.. need to get gems on it to make it better for me with Tanking. I am a paladin so i need to get more +spell so it will help with me keeping Aggro and also need to put a +stam defence gem..but still nice piece

Chestplate of A'dal is obtainable alone, at the end of a solo-able quest chain.
Its better/equal to this one.
Im ofcourse saying this as a furry warrior, sockets can make a difference.

Lol its not solable. you need to do 2 group quests. but they are pretty easy just get a partner and thye are easy, gotta kill giants i think

just to comment further, this is the item of choice for dps warriors/ palas until s1 chest, worth some effort :)
