The Wrathfire Hand-Cannon is a powerful ranged weapon found in Outlands. It has better stats than any ranged weapon found pre-expansion.

This gun has approximately a 20% chance of being dropped by Grandmaster Vorpil in the Shadow Labyrinth wing of Auchindoun. Vorpil is the third boss in this 5 man dungeon.

As of release, this is the fastest new ranged weapon available in the expansion, making it a good choice for fixed % chance talents like iAotH but a poor choice for Marks spec hunters who still depend on heavier-hitting weapons.

This gun is definately to fast for a hunter. The SS cast is longer resulting in a delayed autoshot atleast 0.5seconds for beast master talentspecs. That means using steady shot is probably going to lower your overall dps, which isnt what your aiming for when nuke-ing.

Also when its a primary weapon you tend to use alot of ammo. 18 slots of ammo wasnt enough for a Black Morass run for me. ><

So this baby is probably best in the hands of a rogue or a warrior. Simply put, you dont have to pass on it if the hunter needs it.

Hunters using this gun may want to try the following handy macro, which can be spammed to cast alternating Steady Shots and Auto Shots with as small a delay as possible. It really came in handy for me when I was using this gun as a BM spec and the timing is very tight for weaving steady shots.

This gun is mostly going to go to your warriors or rogues for the stats. The damage is low, and the speed is too fast for most hunters who will want a slower, harder hitting weapon for auto shot/white damage and to have time on their shot rotation.

Proc-based hunters should love this weapon. With a good ammo pouch and serpent's swiftness, your normal attack speed will be under 1.4 seconds. That's plenty fast enough to keep Improved Aspect of the Hawk up most of the time, for another 15% haste. Ideal for beastmastery proc hunters.

Got this last night off Grandmaster Vorpil in Shadow Labs. I spent 3 runs going for Sonic Spear unsuccessfully, but that's another story... I had been using both The Gunblade and Hemet's Elekk Gun for the past 4ish levels (currently lvl 69 Hunter) and I must say, this is quite an upgrade.

Maybe because I am a BM spec not MM, but I was very happy with this gun, and when I use Rapid Fire with my Ogre Mauler's Badge trinkit it's like having a damn an automatic rifle. This may not top out at max dmg but the dps is quite higher.

Wrathfire Hand Cannon 90-168 (64.5 dps) AP+30/crit+10
Hemet's Elekk Gun 103-193 (59.2 dps) AP+24/crit +12
The Gunblade 112-210 (57.5 dps) AP+36

I couple this with Crystalforged War Axe and Savagery and I must say, for the 24 hours I've had it, I'm quite impressed. Of course having said that when I hit 70 I'll probably be using my Valanos' Bow more day to day but that's a different point entirely.

Mama's Insurance, https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=30279
is still better for rogue/warrior DPS and is an easy quest green to boot. This gun is useless, for hunters, warriors and rogues alike.

Edit: I was talking about better, not best. We're discussing the WHC here, not FWK. Although FWK is obviously superior, MI is practically free and still superior to WHC.

dunno what to say about the graphics. Its not horrible, definetly different and looks cool in an odd way when fired.

terrible hunter gun.... too quick and not enough dps.. May say 64 dps but ayt a measly 90-168 dam its pretty pathetic when you factor in all the normal shot speed enh hunters have.. Just the quiver is 13% speed increase shot unless you have oustanding reflexes and no lag your not getting your monies worth with this one.
Want an impressive gun lookup Gunblade, for its level its outstanding.

It's graphic is just like the icon, has those 5 little heads sticking out! Its a quick gun though, nice stats and dps, should make some hunters pretty happy.

Item was nerfed in 2.0.10 patch. Former stats used to be 15 crit strike, and 40 attack power. Still is a great DPS gun, but don't see why the nerf was necessary. Thanks WOW!

Yea i'm happy with mine.
The 5 barrels looking the pwnage when firing xD.
