is this a heroic drop, or it's obtainable in a normal one ?
I can't seem to find any other good chest piece for a resto shaman

This drops in normal mode. Compared to Void Slayer's Tunic https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=30298 which is way easier to get, you'll trade +heal for more mana. Both of this are equally good depends on what you need, +heal or +mana

This was a very, very good consolation prize for my holy paladin. I've run SLABS quite a few times and haven't seen my chest drop from Vorpil but this was a very pleasant surprise from Murmur. It makes the next few runs a bit more palatable until I do get the Breastplate of Many Graces to drop.

As a resto shaman, this piece looks like the last upgrade for me until I get something from raiding or PvP (which I don't do).

I have both, and it basically boils down to which stat you need more, +healing or MP5. For a while I lacked +heal and used the Void Slayer's Tunic, but now that my healing is solid, I'll switch back over to the Deep Currents for the extra mana regen.

Although, if you are going to go after only one, I'd say shoot for this one, as the extra intellect and MP5 is generally more deseried by Resto shamans.

Best resto shammy chest pre-raid. Put +6mp/5 on it and youre ready to go.

It's similar to https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=30298/void-slayers-tunic and Murmur's one i think it's slower to get. If you only go to SL for the chest try with the quest that gives u the one i linked.
If u need rep or sumthin just try to get it. I personally couldn't.

This is primarily for resto shamans and healing paladins who can't get a better plate item. If that's you, then it's worth grinding SL for this item as you'll need the rep to get the Lower City Prayerbook anyway.

The next upgrade after this is going to be the Merciless gladiator chest, or the Earthblood Chestguard. Post patch 2.3 there will also be a mail chest badge reward that could fill the gap.

Prior to this, you'll probably be wearing the Void Slayer's Tunic - which is comparable and much easier to get (guaranteed quest reward). Ignore people who say that's better - this Harness is the one to get before you go raiding, the extra int and mp5 may not sound like much extra but they are the stats that count when you're up against raid bosses.

if you look closely, you'll notice it looks like the faces of 2 dogs facing each other on the top part, then chains going down the middle. i agree it is great for a holy pally, that's what i am. if you're a holy pally, your best bet is to keep running SLABS until you get either this, or the breastplate of many graces. both have a lowish droprate, but one of the 2 should drop without too many runs.
