I have the Talisman of Ascendence. Will having this trinket also trigger it's cooldown, or can I have both active at the same time for some massive +damage and +healing?

February 13: Just got Ancient Draenei Arcane Relic (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=31615) and realized that I can use it with this one at the same time.
My belief is because the use triggers the same spell (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/spell=33662)

Do any of the +Dmg over x seconds affect DoT's AFTER they are cast? Or does the trinket(s) need to be activated before casting DoT's?

This trinket rocks, my warlock was destruction 1 month ago with 720 spell damage, now demonology. I used to critically strike 5.3K with Soul Fire on any boss in Black Morass.

This is a long last trinket and is good even at lvl 70.

as a frost mage i rarely cast anything with cast time to start fight but frost bolt
and i always forget to use it :p so i made this macro :

/use Vengeance of the Illidari
/cast Frostbolt(Rank 13)

and put it in #1 slot :)

Using this trinket everytime it's cooled down results in an approximate passive of +20 spell dmg.

Cooldown is only 90 seconds on this trinket (same as most on demand damage trinkets), and it can be popped simultaneously with the Dreanie +damage trinket from terrokar (Quest Reward: The Vengeful Garbinger).

This trinket rocks, alot of +damage for a 90 sec CD and has on equip crit too.

For Horde the Quest chain goes something like this
(I don't really remember but I think it starts at Nazgrel in Thrallmar)

Go kill Forgefiend Razorsaw at Camp Mageddon and 10 peons there

Next step: Kill 3 of the cannons in the Camp Mageddon

Next step: Kill Arix'Amal get the Portal Key from him and overload a portal

Next step: Kill Arazzius (Level 63 Elite with hot damage so you need at least tank healer and dd, spawns some adds at 50%) he's located at Aggonar.

Then take one of this goodies

An Eye of the Beast and Talisman of Ephemeral Power, rolled into one. The increased chance to crit is active at all times, not just when the trinket is "active."

This combined with the Talisman of Ascendance means I have almost constant high spell damage.

It says it increases damage done by up to 120 and healing by up to 220, since it doesn't say dmg + healing by magical spells and effects, does the damage apply to melee and ranged dmg increase?

If you are Alliance, you need to do the 2 bombin run quests, then the 3 portal quests near the Horde town, and you get a letter from the boss at the 3rd portal. Deliver the letter in Honor Hold and get the quest for that trinket. http://www.thottbot.org/?qu=10400

You will need a tank and a healer to kill the last boss. I was a level 62 Demonology Warlock (my Felguard tanked), there was also a level 60 Mage and a level 60 Shaman (healer).

Myself and a guildmate have found that this trinket doesn't work properly in macros without a /stopcasting command. Normally you can have a macro such as:

/use Vengeance of the Illidari
/cast Frostbolt

You can use this macro to replace your regular Frostbolt button and every time you cast Frostbolt, the trinket will activate, if it's up. Sadly, this particular trinket doesn't properly work in a macro like this unless you add /stopcasting between the two commands. If you don't, the macro will still work, you'll just have to hit it twice and wait for a global cooldown in between (I think). And adding /stopcasting into the macro is problematic because then it's not spammable since you'll keep canceling your casts.

Should I use this before or after applying my DoT's (affliction 'lock)?
If the DoT's get their tick size determined when you apply them, I should use this one before applying, but if the tick size can change depending on changing +spell dmg, this item would benefit me the most if I use it just after applying the DoTs, since it would then affect all DoT's as long as possible...

Has anyone tested this?

Once you cast the spell, if you are influenced by the items bonus it will stay, but the damage is still spread through the ticks of the DoT

Can someone post the list of quests i have to complete to get this one...I think i may be too high (im lvl 64) for the beginning quest and consequently may not be able to get this one :(

This trinket is great but its also a slap in the face to all the casters that had to grind ZG for zandalarian hero charm. This is a really easy quest and a few 62+ or a 70 helping can down the objective quickly.

you CAN equip this and the glowing crystal insignia at the same time and get the passive bonuses from both, and while you cannot charge both trinkets at the same time, they only share an activation timer, NOT cooldown timer, so it is possible to use them in succession for 35 seconds of boosted spell damage every 2 minutes =D

im an orc warlock and i kinda regretting picking orc over undead but its nice to use this trinket and stack it with bloodfury. your spell damage can go through the roof. still undead have WoTF but i say bloodfury and this equals out those whole "undead racial is overpowered" arguments

I look forward to getting this for my Holy Priest. He currently has Blessed Prayer Beads, which isn't one of those shared activation/cooldown things, so I can use them both at the same time =].

Assuming I cast a Fireball first and activate the trinket AFTERWARDS while the Fireball is still flying. Will the additional damage be calculated for my Fireball or only for the spells which follow? This works for Combustion even for such casts as scorch that instantly hit the target. Not sure how it works with this trinket though

I'm a 58 druid, got a 70 main. Just wondering if I should get this trinket, or the AP one. I'm feral atm, but i'll have to respec at 70 to resto for arenas. Is there a usable trinket like this that has good +heal?

PS. You need to use this BEFORE you cast spells. does not work if you just cast a spell then used it. dots included.
