Why use this over Major Healing Potion which takes a cheaper vial?

this is just an easy way to lvl your alch a little bit ... the alchemy lvl required is higger than the majors so it will progress you further, and quite easily, farming in the beggininng lvl outlands

The difference between these and Major Healing Potions is that in making these, you have a small chance of making a new flask discovery.

just in case anyone DOES want this, you can get it from Apothecary Antonivich <Grand Master Alchemist> in Thrallmar, Hellfire Penninsula. I just picked it up @ skill lvl 300 for 2G, along with Adept's Elixir, and Onslaught Elixir. For those that love coord's hes at 52, 36

Why would i want to do this potion (except for Alchemy points) when i can get the same result with a Major Healing Potion made with a cheaper vial?

its a lot easier to find felweed for me than silversage so... yeah this is easier to make outside of the vial needed...

The difference is almost entirely in the herbs.

Volatile Healing Potion: 1x Golden Sansam, 1x Felweed, 1x Imbued Vial
Major Healing Potion: 2x Golden Sansam, 1x Mountain Silversage, 1x Crystal Vial

In order for Volatile Healing Potions to be more expensive than Major Healing Potions on my server, they would have to require the entire stack of 5 Imbued Vials to create one potion.

How is this any different from a Major Healing potion?

The only difference is that the Major Healing potion takes 2 Golden Sansam and 1 Mountain Silversage and this takes 1 Sansam and 1 Felweed. I suppose Blizzard doesn't expect us to pick up any Silversage in the Outlands..

I swear when I made these that the stats were much higher than the majors. Maybe it's part of the "volatile" thing? Or they were downgraded?

I thought it meant something like it had a 1% chance to turn you into a demon or something stupid. Apprently not though

I sounds like some people have actually made these but I don't see where you get the recipe. Can anyone verify where to get the recipe, not just the potion?

I got recipe from outland master alchemy trainer, said 300 skill needed.

Kind of costly considering it is the same as major healing potions, but I will need to make a few more before I can get onto making something more useful for skilling up

The big advantage of making these, though, is that there's a rare chance that in making one, you will discover how to make one of the new flasks. Worth it to make these instead on those grounds alone.

You can discover how to make a Flask when making Volatile healing potions! Making Volatile healing potions was even greyed out to me when I discovered how to make a flask of relentless assault! Further, I wasn't a master of potion/elixirs/transmutes or anything either. It is pretty rare though... I've made maybe 100 and this is the first time it happened. I thought I gained a level or something by the graphic that happened around my character.

I found where you can get this potion's ability. You must be at least 300 skill in alchemy to receive this potion recipe.

Alchemist Gribble the Master Alchemy Trainer, will train you for this recipe to make this wonderous potion.

He's located in the tower, just south of the inn at Honor Hold. Loc: 53,65.

For alliance droods, visit Rorelien at the same location for all your herbalism training needs. She shares the same room with Gribble.

Level 61 Druid, Alliance.
