Alas the mobs will hit too hard for it to be usable.. but i can see it being awesome against rogues and pallies (hunter shots affected by armor i think?) in pvp :)

I'm upgrading 2H Sword Skill now, and it procs ALOT :O I like this weapon, but not sure if the 2H Axe from Sethekk Halls is better for a Warrior.

Armor proc does not stack with toughness (prot talent to increase armor by 10%).

Weapon procs often. I keep around for when I'm feeling bored and doing pugs. I tell them I am two-hand tank spec and link this sword to get a reaction =P.

Yes everyone jokes about this being a tanking weapon but it is actually a decent grinding weapon because of the proc. It is up constantly so it's almost like grinding with a shield on.

I know it's an embarrasment for a lvl 70 to ask this question, but I can't seem to find botanica anywhere. I tryed almost every part of netherstorm, but I can't find it. PLs help ;)

A weapon for pallies who feel naked when they take of their shield! No one is gonna think it is overpowered, or cry for it to be nerfed. It is a decent blue weapon to toy around with, it really isn't very good. ;p

dropped for the guild run i was with. went into AB straight after & 2nd hit on a pally... bang instabubble... pissed that pally off so much he called for his friends MR. rogue, Mr. warr, Mr shaman, & Mrs. priest, to smack on the bubble.. shame it only lasts for 10 secs coz i was roadkill once it left... :(

This weapon actaully blows first off if you are a hunter theirs no point in using this weapon even if you are survival specced. Since if you are your just going to kite and run whats the armor going to do if the things far from you. As for warriors id reccomend not using this stats are decent but there are plenty of better weapons. The only class i see using this is a ret pally at most otherwise d/e the thing.

how could this be a tank wep since its 2h with 3.50 speed? pally tanks need weapons under 2 speed for reckoning. this weapon isnt for tanking. should go to arms warrior or ret pally. not a tank weapon at all. the proc is for soloing and pvp, not for tanking and instance.

I just did like 15 duel and killed countless monsters, and it has yet to proc the effect. not sure wat's going on

I haven't done the math nor watched the proc with an add-on, but the proc rate is not bad at all. It goes off at least once or twice per fight for me, sometimes twice in a row. pretty good.

Okay I'm a paladin and i do want to get this sword. I already see warriors posts after this... Now i do understand that warriors are meant to tank and i accept that paladins heal in instaces (which is in my opinion isn't bad if you have to heal you have to heal). What I always see that when it comes to waepons warriors have privilage in all of the them. What I wanted to say that there is life outside the instaces and for that paladins need waepons too because the only real offensive paladin spell is Holyshock.So we are meant to go unarmed right?

I play a warrior and a paladin, and having this sword on either would be pretty cool for PVP, but only against other melee classes. Having this proc in a fight against a rogue is almost like putting on a shield, but still smacking him for the damage that a 2hander can do.

This is definitely one of those weapons I would leave in my bag and have a button to equip it when the time is right. Using it all the time for everything would just be foolish.

I'm sure all the rogues out there would wonder why the hell they are hitting someone with a 2-hander for hardly any damage.

And adding an armor bonus to classes that already have a lot or armor is more useful then for classes that hardly have any. A warrior getting a 2k armor bonus will benefit a lot more then a mage getting a 2k armor bonus. This is because the amount of damage that warriors normally sustain with just there regular armor will have a much large percentage drop in damage versus that of a mage. If a mage is only mitaging 10% normally, and the armor bonus means they start mitigating 20%, then the total damage being delt to them decreased by 1/9th. Where as a warrior with 50% mitigating getting a bonus to 60% mitigation (same 10% increase as the mage), that warrior is reducing the amount of damage being delt to them by 1/5th.

so far.. 5 warp splinters and no drop..

i also beleive it would be very fun to duel my paladin freinds or rogue freinds and have it proc..hehehe.

Guys, let's think outside the box.

See I think this IS a tanking sword and wouldn't mind getting it - not for regular tanking, o/c that's best done with a shield so as to have constant damage reduction its armour provides - what this would work for is 2h arms warrior dps tanking, something I've been pioneering and experiementing with.

My thinking is this. I'm an arms/fury warrior (31/28) because I don't like tanking, I like dps. However one time a guildie compromised and told me to 2dps with my 2hander (I use Lunar Crescent) in tank gear to get me to come the instance. So I have lots of defense, armour, damage mitigation etc., just no shield. What i'd do would be to use cleave and Whirlwind along with Sweeping Strikes, where possible. The result is huge dps (I was top of my group with 30%, lock in 2nd, feral druid in 3rd, spriest in 4th), quite good aggro (because you do so much dps) and only slightly less damage mitigation. With a good healer though, this isn't a problem. The secret, if you can call it that, lies in rage generation from taking the hits. In fact because i can basically spam all my abilities I might actually do more damage than if I was in dps gear but not getting aggro.

Works against bosses too: huge rage generation and you just spam improved slam, clocking about 700 a hit, which you can do almost endlessly. Could I do that much damage if I wasn't getting it? Not a chance.

But don't you die? Surely you take too much damage? At endgame, in a party of 10 or 20 then yes, because when all the damage goes through you the mitigation is vital to survival (as the tank), however I reckon I get 4-6 times as much dps doing 2h than 1h and shield and just holding aggro (from 100 to about 400-600dps, which has been tested). This is at the loss of the 8% melee dmg reduction my shield gives me, and the 17% or so block. Worth it in 5 mans. Some aggro problems, but everything dies so far it hardly matters. Party didn't have trouble staying alive with this kind of tanking.

That's what this sword would rock for. Any thoughts, questions, feedback?

N.B this requires a slow 2hander and (probably) a good healer for most effectiveness. My resto shammie (mostly blue) had no trouble.

For anybody thats interested this dropped on my first time there and it kicks ass for arms wars, especialy for PvP cause since im a war rogues have an extra 2.7k armor to deal with.

This is far more of a warrior weapon than anything else. STR and STA are warrior mainstays, and the armor bonus is nice. A paladin has other weapons, that are much more easily acquired, that he should not have to roll need on this. Oathkeeper, anyone? You can buy that off the AH for around 50g on my server.

as a PvP warrior, i currently have this in my bank, ready to equip when the mace spec gets nerfed in one of the coming patches.

For those who do not know, Blizzard are planning on nerfing Mace Spec so that the stun doesn't proc as often, making sword spec a far better choice once this lame patch comes out.

This sword is generally quite nice, although not really intended for warrior use in PvP, hence the pretty crappy proc. A better sword is available from Heroic Underbog, from Blackstalker.

I have this one as it is easier to get hold of, and i prefer this proc to the 45 crit rating from the UB sword, as any good PvPer will have enough resilience to cancel out the crit rating anyway.

When the mace spec nerf comes out, I will be using this sword until i get my hands on the Merc Glad 2hand sword.

One last thing, a skilled warrior uses Savagery, not %^&*ing Mongoose for PvP. *tut tut*

watch "Thats the world of warcraft that you play" on youtube... its right, every hunter wants every freaking weapon in the entire game, stick with a weapon made for you...say.. with agility, attack power, or crit.....preferably all of those, mainly agility

Most hunters are idiots because outside of instances and pvp they take no skill to kill things, then when they get to 70 they claim to be a great hunter although they know nothing about their class, it seems there are more hunters that are stupid than any other class, just an observation, there are idiots of all classes
