Not such amazing stats, but a Yellow Socket.

Too fast? There are two weapons slower (2.7 speed versus 2.6 speed), one drops at the end of kharazan, one drops in SSC. Only other 2.7 that a rogue uses would be the crafted 1h hammer.

I as well am disapointed with the common 2.6 speed.
the Epic 60 Grandmarshel blade will forever stay in my mind as the height of Fury mainhands.

This though is Very nice for fury. With the ability to +8crit (for 32, or 1.4%) or +8str (for 46AP)

I just got this mace last night hoping to put it to good use. I understand it is not the BEST hemo weapon available, but I do believe it will be helping out with my top end a little be more than https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=30788#z0z

I believe tonite it will receive a mongoose and personally I think this will be a great looking weapon, not to mention the large increase in damage.

Very nice enhancement shaman weapon, slip a +8 hit rating in the socket (Rigid Dawnstone) and it would be perfect.

I would love to see a math comparison between this and Decapitator. Decapitator offers greater Hit by Hit dps, but this baby would net you more attack power, near the same critical strike chance, and a needed Hit bonus for enhancement shaman. All the stats I described lend to a better shamanistic rage (barring critical strike).

the addition of ~30AP compared to the Decapitator is about 2.5DPS This does nto match up to the DPS of Decapitator . If you are an Orc Shaman, then the additional 1% Crit you will get using the Decapitator will make it superior. Of course, since it's Kara, get your mitts on the first one you can either way.

Just... no. 24 Crit rating > 1% crit, and it applies to both weapons, as opposed to the orc racial which is applied to each weapon separately.

Not to mention any attack power you get is actually 1.625*AP, as a warr anyways, due to DW spec, making it over 30+16(from +8str gem) *1.625 = 74.75 * 1.1 from zerker stance, 82.225, which puts it at +5.9 dps, putting it handily above the decapitator in terms of raw dps before taking into consideration the crit.

As a Shaman, the AP still applies partially, due to whatever that talent is that gives you +10%, though not as much (+76AP instead of 82). AP = Mana = DPS in any case, along with that crit.

Socket Discussion for Enh Shaman.

+3 STA isn’t bad but isn’t going to make or break your build, so Enh Shaman have a number of options regarding this weapon. Either choose to take advantage of the bonus or shrug it off and figure you’re going to get the STA on other gear anyway and disregard it.

If you should choose to use the socket, the choices are obvious.

Don’t be cheap if you’re going to buy. Get the Noble Topaz at the very least. The pyrestone, however, is only recommended if you have cash to burn because this weapon could rather easily be upgraded via Fury or Rage.

Enscribed Fire Opal – Mana-Tombs
Resplendent Fire Opal – Slave Pens (PvP-related gem)

The Etched Fire Opal is viable but less desirable, because +hit is a less desirable stat than STR or AGI. If your +hit on your character sheet is around 100, this particular gem is a waste.

Do NOT socket this with “Rigid” ANYTHING. Any of these gems is a disgusting waste of itemization.

If you should choose to disregard the socket, any of the following is a great choice.

till TK its one of best weapons for shaman to offhand u can get if u dont like PvP.

This aint a MH weapon it beter fits to offhand according to elites jerks EP calculator.
For example it has a lower Mh EP point as https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28308 but a few more to OH than gladiator.
Anzwaz +áhit is not waist if u miss 142 hit rating to cap your special attacks even with 9% from talents

I´m using two of these on my Fury Warrior. Doing kinda good damage with them, and got 20+ STR on them. Very nice weapons for a Fury warrior :)

You are incorrect.

The dual-wield miss penalty is 19%, but that adds up with the normal miss chance, making the base autoattack miss chance 9+19=28% for dual wielders.

However, that only applies to auto attacks, not special attacks, such as Windfury and Stormstrike. A large part of Enhancement Shaman DPS consists of these two abilities. Thee only have the innate 9% miss chance against bosses, and all the 9% can be removed with Shaman talents. Thus, hit rating only benefits white attacks for Shamans.

It has been proved that Enhancement Shaman DPS benefits more from strength and critical strike rating than hit rating, and experienced PvE Enhancement shamans agree with this.

Thus, you should never enchant or gem for hit rating. It's nice to have, but you shouldn't sacrifice other stats for it.

You're setting up two straw man arguments by talking about gemming for hit rating and sacrificing AP and Crit for Hit. No shaman worth his or her salt is going to do either of those things.

50% of Enhancement Shaman DPS is white damage. That's pretty evident in the EJ Theorycraft thread, and it's obviously a big contributor to overall DPS for the shaman.

I was pointing out that the statement "shaman don't need hit rating" is wrong because it confuses people. Again, while shaman don't need 240+ hit rating like rogues do, you cannot go into a raid rocking 20 hit rating either, because you'll seriously nerf your DPS. This is supported by running the numbers through Yo's Simulator.

So, again, the bottom line is shaman need some hit rating.

Unique name, not so unique stats. Fool's bane... should give +400 AP to anyone who attacks you who is less than 20 levels than you, because they are truly foolish. Now that would be unique. ;p

This is a good mainhand for mace rogues, fury warriors, and enhancement shaman.

If i saw a feral druid roll on this i would gkick/quit. COME ON! theres a better staff for feral druids off the same boss!

And please, keep the rogue discussion off this item thread. From the looks of it, fool's bane has become fool's fodder.

This is actually the only epic mace that shows up on the list that does decent damage (except for the hammersmith ones, ofc) - the rest are basically for tanks or healers.

I'll admit, i'd be pretty scared going head to head with a geared skilled fury warrior on the DPS meter but, I don't think my feral druid has ever had a problem with non-arms warriors.

This with arena offhand mace and dual mungo rox hard for the time u haven't got arena main ;)

for me as 17/44/0 deep combat mace specc rogue i perform very well in arena (2vs2 with feral at 1900 still going up) and do nice dmg in pve!

I got this weapon a few months ago. It supplies hard hits. Beastly rogue, warrior, or enchancement shaman weapon. The staff and Fools dropped on the same try. I had no problems even though our tank was a drood

Got this on my fury warrior with Fel Edged Battleaxe in OH. Great speed for MH weapon. Hits like a truck. Nice weapon for anyone to use as MH imo.

Iam looking for a decent offhand as an enhancement shammy and thottbot says this is a one-handed weapon...Iam sure this was main-hand only before the 2.3 patch. So did this change or just thottbot is playing tricks with me?

Its changed, you can now have it as an offhand and even DW it as its not unique, The decapitator is eaxactly the same as well, being a non unique one hand axe.

currently i am a dagger rogue pve spec'ed and i want to respec to hemo maces. 0/31/30. I am wondering if i should buy the seasoon 1 MH mace and put fool's bane in offhand? would it be good for arena?

I was looking for a sword for my MH in Kara and ZA for weeks, as an improvement to my Vindicator's Brand, until this dropped.

Since no one wanted it, I took it. Will have to change weapon specs (hemo swords to maces) but it should serve me better in arenas as well as in raids.

Socketed a +8 hit gem to it.

Nice top end damage. Just a shade below Spiteblade in AEP (Shadowpanther.net).

OMG today i have seen a druid wearing this in moonkin form............wtf?cmon guys this must be a joke even the +15 healing 1 that drops in sm cath is more usefull for a druid....just let the rogues/warrs/shammys roll on this if not make ur guild a favor and de it and get some void crystals for ur bank..im wondering how the rogues face was when a balance druid wob this..........(btw srry about my english guys hope u can understand me correctly^^)

Got 2 of these for my enhc.-shaman (we're a little group of friends who clear Karazhan every week, so don't worry. No warrior's or rogue's feelings were hurt by me rolling on this...), however, I'll go for the axes from the Prince. Until then these are very nice and the best choice for those who don't fancy spending mind-numbing hours in AV farming hp for the s1 maces/axes.

I am a lvl 70 Prot Warrior.
When I am asked to OT, I will go DW. I will put the Fool's Bane onto my main hand and switch my King's Defender to my off hand. The King's Defender currently has Mongoose on it.
My question is, what enchant to put onto my Fool's Bane which would give a good compliment to the King's Defender?
