Are you kidding me? This thing is not any better than Star-heart lamp or manual of the nethermancer, both blue items that drop in level 70 5 man instances. Hopefully blizzard sees how terrible this itemization is.

Its without a doubt a good offhand but its a really small or no upgrade compared to way easier to get offhands from a 5 man instance.

I'm useing Lamp of Peaceful Radiance now (imo this one is better I prefer the crit)

We killed Netherspite 4 times now (running with 2 groups), hasnt dropped yet but dont think its worth spending points on.

no this off-hand is not good. compare how hard it is to do BM for example and how hard it is to kill netherspite. something is terribly wrong.

Actually with the +hit it's slightly more useful for raiding DPS casters than the Talisman's +crit (unless you're at the hit cap) but you lose the cool fire breath visual effect.

And yes it is better than the Lamp of Peaceful Radiance - https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28412 (especially for raiding), sure you lose a bit of +crit but almost double the +hit and gain stats and even a bit of dmg.

Very nice to have for any raider who isn't at the hit cap yet. Better even than Nightbane's Talisman. Of course if you are hit caped this looses a lot of its potential.

That's if u're hit caped without gems which is doubtfull if ure raiding kara. If not u can swap some hit gems to crit.

I got this last karazhan, but realized it was slightly worse than dps-wise than Saphiron's Wing Bone, even if your not hit-capped. Another thing i also realized was that this offhand vendors for 20g !! The best item I've gotten from kara so far :D

Star-Heart Lamp more stats, bit less spell hit rating.. But alot of easier to get :p

not as bad as you think.
most hit rating you can get in your offhand slot, and what people forget, that means more +dmg in others if you were around 80 hit/ penetration when you got it:) (at least thats my mark and seems to be enough so far)

From what I heard (I'm an affliction warlock) having a 16% hit rating will allow me to hit a raid boss at lvl 70 99% of the time, so my main goals in gear are my +dmg stats and +hit rating, I find this is one of the better offhands for people looking for those stats. My hit rating is currently around 140 which equals to around 12%.

Of course +crit is not the main worry of the affliction lock, but unless you have the habit to keep picking your nose waiting for dots to wear off during boss fights, i suppose you actually spam some shadowbolts! And making some quick math with improved shadowbolt here's what you get:
let's say you have a total of 20% crit chance, thus critting once every 5 shadowbolts, you (and your best friend shadowpriest) would get +20% shadow damage, that's a mean of +4% overall shadow damage, which is not bad at all!

Spellhit>Dmg>Spellcrit from a raiding perspective.

Btw supression is a waste of 5 talent points, reason being that it doesnt affect immolate and sb. I have 180 spellrating (~15%) from gears and gem twinking as an aff lock.

id give this to a lock or shadow priest and take +spelldmg/crit for boomkin and mages but hey thats just me.
