That's some of the worst logic I've heard.

Just because an item has low stats, doesn't mean it's bad. It means its item budget points were spent on other things, like a high damage range.

Look at perdition's blade. For a long time, that was the best dagger in the game...it has no passive stats, just a damage proc.

I got this sword jsut recently and noticed my DPS increase tenfold n 5 mans over my old HWL Blade with crusader.

This Sword with Latro's is amazing and wil ldeffinitly hold me over until a decent swor drops in Vashj's place.

Awesome for SS but terrible for Hemo as said below. This only does 9more damage per hemo than the level 60 HWL fist.

I like the sword cause of its high Min-Dmg and Max-Dmg (143 - 267 Damage) As a fury warrior I need weapons with high Min-dmg and Max-dmg, so I can hit harder with my Abi's
Ect lets say I have a sword with 10 Min dmg, and a speed on 1.00
And a sword with 100 Min dmg, and 3 speed.
and I use Mortal Strike, lets say it gives +300 dmg
With the fast sword I would hit for 310, at a cost of 30 rage.
With the slow sword I would hit for 400 at the same cost (30 Rage)

Since my original comment seemed to be taken the wrong way (I said the graphics for the Sword sucked, NOT the actual Sword ...), I thought I'd better try and redeem myself.

I've being using the Vindicator's Brand for about a month now, and it is fair to say: It's pretty damn awesome. :)

It's an great Main Hand for any Rogue, and is easy to obtain (took about a week of on and off grinding). The stats aren't fantastic in magnitude, but Combat needs Hit and AP, which is exactly what this has.

Posibble upgrades can only be found in Karazhan or higher, certainly not in any Heroic instance. Well, maybe The Bladefist from Shattered Halls Heroic, but it's not a big upgrade if at all, and Vindicator's Brand is considerably more easy to obtain. :)

Plus, if you get an Enchant on it (currently have Greater Striking), it doesn't look half as bad. ;)

I got this to replace my GM Longsword. It's a great mainhand weapon for a Fury warrior, nice and slow for high Whirlwinds and Cleaves.

Aldor rep is not that hard to get. Quests, particularly in Netherstorm, should get you mid-way to honoured, I ground demons in Legion Hold to get the marks to reach Revered in about 3 hours. I then got a little lazy and bought Fel Armaments from the AH to reach Exhaulted. Fel Armaments are worth a premium over Marks of Sargaras as you can use the holy dust to buy the inscriptions (shoulder enchants) later. The cost of 6-700g (for the Fel Armaments) was worth it to get this sword.

The tanking chest I got at Revered was also a nice improvement https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=29127

Just one thing; this is possibly the ugliest sword in the game!

I got this a few weeks ago, i´m a fury warrior and got this in MH, i got https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=27913 in OF, i really lay high on the dmg meters now,i have beaten both locks and rogues with it. i think this is a really nice sword and it´s worth to grind up rep for it.

PS. i got 7 wep dmg enchant on it

A surprisingly easy sword to obtain. Even as a blood elf, starting the rep-grind with the Aldor at Neutral, I was able to obtain exalted reputation just as I hit 70.

It takes some grinding, but it's worth doing while leveling as you can kill two birds with one stone.

Mid 60s grind the shadow stair near Auchindoun and The Tomb of Shadow in the bone-wastes to get marks of Kil'Jaden-turn which can be turned in until honored reputation is reached.

68+ Grind the Legion Hold of SMV, Death's Door of BEM or Arklon Ruins of Netherstorm for Marks of Sargeras/Fel Armaments. These can be turned in all the way to exalted.

Upon hitting revered there are a number of quests that can be done in Netherstorm and Shadowmoon Valley to complete, and should provide some good rep to help make getting the rep for exalted a little easier. There are also 2 quests in Shat'rah that can be completed as well, one is obtained from Ishanah to purify some altars in Terrokar Forest, and the other is picked up at the Infirmary to kill stonegazer who is also in Terrokar Forest.

Aldor rep is extremely easy to get. Head to shattrath at like level 63 and do the quest to escort the light guy around and pick Aldor. Go to Auchindoun in Terokkar Forest and start killing the Cabal people. They are squishy and with fairly low health and drop Mark of Kil'jaedan a lot. They also have a chance to drop Fel Armament.

Grind up to about 200 Mark of Kil'jaedan, by this time I had 8 Fel Armament. Turn in Mark of Kil'jaedan until you are honored with Aldor and then turn in all your Fel Armament.

Now, whenever you have some spare gold, head to the AH and buy 2-3 Fel Armament (Usually around 8-11 gold each on my server). When you reach level 67 (by this time I was revered with the Aldor) start buying Mark of Sargeras in mass bulk. Try and get up tp 2-3 hundred by the time you hit 68. Turn in all of those right when you hit 68 and then return to the pattern of buying Fel Armament whenever you can spare the gold.

Using this method you should be Exalted by about midway through level 69, and enjoying Vindicator's Brand right as you ding 70. Not to mention the exalted shoulder enchants and a good dps ring/tank chest for warriors. Enjoy :)

I just upgraded from high warlords blade to this and i am very unimpressed. It's uglier, doesn't do a whole lot more damage, and it took a long time to get exalted with aldor. To me, this is a better weapon for a hunter or shammy because of the +hit. there are better swords for rogues and warriors. Swords with +crit and stamina would fit both alot better (rogues and fw), as the attack power and +hit help a hunters ranged attacks.

After 2.3, is this sword even worth getting?

Post 2.3 Gladiator's Slicer (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28295) will be available for 18k honor and 20 EotS marks. A good 2 days of pvp if you do it fairly casually.

It has 10 more dps, stam, hit, crit, and AP, albeit a little less hit and AP.

I've been leveling a rogue alt, and was just curious what the future holds for this sword.

It's still a solid weapon, and worlds better than any of the 71.x dps weapons that are dropped in any of the 5man instances.

Sure the Gladiator weapons hit harder, and PvPing is a fine way to get some decent gear, especially now that the season one gear is available through BG points. If you play your cards right, quest and grind some mobs for the turn ins, this sword practically free.

i know what your saying ninja. i tried explaining that to people before and my posts were deleted. i got more dps off the level 60 high warlords blade than i do with this sword. i think the +crit strike is the main reason.

18K honor is doable in one day. 9K a night will require you to spend around 6-7 hours in BGs, assuming you have zero honor and zero marks to turn in.

Even if it takes three days, EotS marks are guaranteed. Marks of Sargeras are not. Getting exalted with the Aldor requires either weeks and weeks of farming for rep turnins, or a ton of gold to buy them off the AH.

Both horde and alliance can get it, you just need to be exalted with aldor, so dont choose scryers, if you do choose scryers, and you want the sword, then change into aldor:P

Wow its a good sword and hella easy to get, but why does the graphic have to be so lame... Anyway I suggest farming Legion Hold in Silvermoon Valley, Marks of Sargeras dropped almost 85% of the time and the Fel Armanents (Spelling?) about 20% of the time.

Got this yesterday, and confirm Legion Hold being a nice farming spot for marks / armaments. Rates or not as high as Contaegon claims, yet still theyre fairly good. The ruins in Arkleon? Netherstorm is also a very nice farmingspot.

Nice blade, perfect for a sword rogue as myself.

Got mine yesterday. Farmed deaths door in BEM for rep. Unsure of drop rates but I was getting about 40 Marks and 2 armaments each 1-2 hr visit over a few weeks.

Finally got this, cost me 500g from 5000/21000 and a little manual farming to get it. Overall happy with my choice, but im down to 500g spread between all my characters now so i feel poor :)

Dual wielding with Fireguard in offhand atm. Happy with both.

Just got this yesterday on Area 52 alliance. Great top end, with 1300ish attack power i'm hitting for about 1100-1300 with my SS crits. now i gotta find an off hand. and about the post above, i farmed all my rep at Legion Hold like the guy above me said however the drop rates he described are jacked up. after killing 3000+ kills on wrathwalkers and 3000+ kills on Mo'arg Weaponsmiths the real drop rates are around 25% for marks and 2% for fel armaments. still fantastic drop %'s from most other places i've been. Now to sell all the extra's i have.

After a few days of grinding I'm now MHing this sword as a Hemo spec Rogue. It looks like it's made of ribbon candy, but it's readily available to anyone with time to invest.

The most efficient way to get Aldor - Exalted:

1. Complete the quest to serve the Aldor. Completion of this quest will put you at friendly.

2. Take the quest to bring 10 Marks of Kil'Jaeden to Ayden the Lightwarden in Shattrath. Do not complete any other quests yet!

3. Grind/Buy Mark of Kil'Jaeden (25 rep per) and turn them in until you are Honored with The Aldor. At honored you can no longer turn in these marks.

4. Once you are honored, finish the quests that give you Aldor rep from Shattrath and Netherstorm. There are two Aldor quest givers in the Area 52 Inn. The chain of quests are easy at first but end with group content (3 or 5 man).

5. Switch your grind/purchasing to Mark of Sargeras (25 rep per) and Fel Armament (350 rep per + dust that you should bank to buy shoulder enchants). As a Rogue, the Artifact Seekers in Netherstorm are a really easy grind. They have a mana burn ability which is bad for casters, but if you don't use mana they only autoswing. These two items will take you the rest of the way to Exalted.

Casually hit Revered while leveling and after 70, decided to finish it off. Farmed Legion Hold for a day and turned everything in for exalted (lifetime supply of inscrips ;). The blade does look rather strangem but looks alot better with the +20 str green glow. Awesome weapon to say the least. Managed an 1100 crit on my paly and this was from an extra attack (reckoning proc). Simply amazing!

A few days ago I managed to get to Aldor - Exalted 10/1000 and went to buy Vindicator's Brand.

Considering how easy it was to get to Exalted just by questing and buying a few extra Marks of Sargeras, this is a pretty good deal in my opinion.

Something I didn't find mentioned anywhere was whether Aldor - Exalted is only needed to buy the sword or also needed to equip it. Well it kinda figures but it wouldn't hurt a lot to test this and so I went over to Arcanist Adyria and did the quest Voren'thal's Visions which brought me back to 20735/21000 of revered and I was no longer able to equip Vindicator's Brand. Turning in 11 Marks of Sargeras brought me back up to Aldor - Exalted and once again being able to equip Vindicator's Brand.

I know just give in but those that don't have the gold, I ironically found a great spot for farming the marks and armaments AFTER I bought everything >_> It was while farming for the Shadow Protection potion. The Warlocks in shadowmoon (west on the map, you fly in over them if you are alliance when you come into shadow moon). 14-15 warlocks there and they are a crazy respawn timer.

However, this is really only suitable for a rogue if you are soloing. There is a pathing 69 elite and I've had many chuckles watching people run from him and die in the process. Anyway, the warlocks can typically be picked off one by one but even if not they die fast.

In 30 minutes I nearly had 50 marks, maybe 48 and 3 fel armaments, in the hour that did it another night I had 10+ greens drop, huge stacks of netherweave, fel str potion drop. It is a great farming spot all around. And no demons to kill cause they just aren't as fun to me.

But the warlocks I had fun making a game out of how fast I could kill them. Sometimes they hit me once! Sometimes while killing one another would appear in the same spot.

Looks like a a good sword, Not as in looks but stats dps wise v.nice. only started grinding for it about 2 days ago but ive only just brought my flying mount as ive only just leveled 70. However ive been grinding now for about 2 days and already honoured (Not done much lol just marks) I found the Cabal mobs in Bone wastes very useful to grind marks off also quite nice for a bit of pocket money. Ive also started the quests in Alter of sha'tar ive been making alot of rep. Id advise an extra player to get things done quicker.

I just got this sword on friday of last week after farming for 3 plus hours a day to get from honored to exalted in 3 days. Best place to farm would be Forge camp Gehennas at Netherstorm got a crap load of Fel arms there. I just got mongoose on it today and I am doing great on DPS and pvp never regreted the time spent on this sword.

Took me about a week and 600g to get to Exalted with Aldor.

I started by buying lesser Marks for 50s each of the AH, then Marks of Sargeras for 70s and Fel Armaments for 10g each.

I did a bunch of quests that took me the equivilent of Honord to Revered (12000 rep) and grinded for half an hour here and thre, but the rest of the turn-ins came courtesy of the AH or the trade channel.

This is the best pre-kara MH sword for combat sword rogues(outside of pvp/arena gear) The speed and max dmg are all a rogue looks for in a MH sword, and the hit is a big bonus. However its a good idea for a pve focused rogue to go daggers instead of swords when they are farming the first couple bosses of kara. Dagger rogues will get alot more options for weapons with emerald ripper, the opera dagger and the consortium epic and KoT epic. Even tho swords is a better spec for raid dps, the weapons avaiable make daggers better. Untill you get spiteblade and/or a glad weapon.

I have heard that a fury warrior needs to dual wield a sword with the same speed, something to do with getting the most out of flurry that way.

So, as a fury warrior, can I dual wield this with the faster fireguard, or is it true that I am wasting flurry by having two swords with different speeds?

As far as epic swords go this one takes the cake for one of the worst. Sure, its a nice upgrade from regular blues and easy to get, but no stats? And its uglier then hell to boot! My adivce is to get into a guild that can down Tidewalker and get the Talon off of him. Failing that then just go get the sword of Netherspite in Kara. And if you must use this, which I'm sure every fury warrior and combat rogue has to at one point (I know I did), then at least put a major striking enchant on it so its not so damn hideous. Don't waste you gold/mats to put a mongoose or executioner enchant on this. Save those for a weapon that is more stat worth/aestheticly pleasing to look upon.

should i get aldors rep i want the ring as a starter at reverd but should i go all the way up?
