The problem with this sword is not the stats. Not the speed, not the damage. Not even the cost.

You cannot be honored with the Consortium at level 63 without running Mana-Tombs a large number of times. If by chance you do get honored with the Consortium, you need to run all the way to Netherstorm (Through Zangarmarsh, Blade's Edge, and most of the Netherstorm zone) to find the vendor who sells this.

This is just a warning to people who think rep grinding to get this at 63 is a good idea.

Funnily enough, as a rogue I'd wear https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=24020 over this anyday. Apart from the higher dmg range, it is rediculously easier to get.

For a weapon you grind rep for that isnt dropped off a boss mob this is a very nice sword. The others you mention are all BoP things you rely on luck for.

The following is the easiest way to get this sword. Compare this difficulty to other, similar weapons and arrive at your own conclusions. (Possibly the biggest perq is that this can be done completely solo.) I assume you're level 63; I didn't include the repeatable level 68 quest in Netherstorm, nor the Heroic daily, nor did I consider runs of Heroic Mana-Tombs. If you can do any of those you probably have no interest in this sword.

You start out as Neutral with the Consortium. Like any faction you need earn 3k rep to reach Friendly. I recommend the two repeatable Nagrand quests at Aeris Landing:

Stealing from Thieves, and
A Head Full of Ivory.

It will take 12 completions to become Friendly. (6 each, 12 of one, any combination thereof, doesn't matter, both reward 250 Consortium rep and you need 3k.) At Friendly, those two repeatable quests will no longer reward rep, but another repeatable quest becomes available at Aeris Landing:

Obsidian Warbeads.

From Friendly to Honored requires 6k rep. You could do Obsidian Warbeads 24 times (that's alot of dead ogres). Alternately there's several Mana-Tombs quests:

Safety is Job One,
Undercutting the Competition, and
Someone Else's Hard Work Pays Off.

Between the rep from these quests and the rep from mobs from one run of Mana-Tombs, you'll make about 2550 rep. That leaves 3450 rep left until Honored; at this point you can repeat Obsidian Warbeads 14 times or run Mana-Tombs 3 more times or any combination thereof.

Worth it? I think it depends largely on your play style. Also keep in mind 4 clears of Mana-Tombs will net 12 Spirit Shards (assuming control of the Spirit Towers), which are currency for some decent blue levelling items.

As far as I know you have to do quests and kill stuff in Nagrand, Mana Tombs, etc to get your rep up to honored. By the time you're 66 in Nagrand you can get a much better tanking weapon from a quest (Crystalline Kopesh). If you're a hunter, there's probably going to be much better available to you. It's a horrible mainhand weapon for a rogue. I guess it's alright for a fury warrior if they don't have anything better.

Bobsie, we DO have a blue sword in BC: Edge of the Cosmos. It's an AMAZING MH sword for a combat Rogue, and I recommend highly, that you check it out.

im lvl 69 atm and i havnt been able to replace my hwl blade as a sword rogue, probly first upgrade will be the aldor sword so there isnt really much to upgrade until 70

Damage isn't all that matters for a combat rogue. Speed is nice too. With slice and dice and BF its nice to attack fast

combat rogues need sustained dmg and at a good rate yes... this sword on the other hand NO speed = dead and stats can be found on a green wep not worth it at 70

Last I checked, you can't walk from GY to GY anymore. Tried it yesterday with a friend who needed to hit up SM. He died on the way, I advised him to run to the GY just outside of SM. When he rezzed, he popped back in Southshore.

This used to work, and if it still does, and ya done it recently, please advise.

this is a good sword for rogues, im lvl 68, and u cant find a better sword to 63- and hole way to 70... its fast and poison's has more chance to hit when the weapon is mainhand.. nice dps, im gonna get it in lvl 69 and im gonna use it until i find a better

Theres a better item from Auchenai Crypts.. its a sword with 60 dps, look it up...

The looks are bad the stats so so and main hand with that crappy dmg haha and lv 63 honored to get this lol blizzard must have been drunk that day when they made this crappy thing. They should have made it like this instead with greather look and Revered instead off honored to get it.

This &*!@ sucks for every1. AND NO FURY WARRS WOULD NOT USE THIS $%^& STICK. its speed is 2.00. not good.

fury warr should have slow waep on MH. slow > 2.3

off hand should b fast.. Fast < 2.00
