These are a random world drop...mine dropped off a Tortured Earth Spirit while farming for Mote of Earths. From what I've gathered the pattern sells for 250-1k depending on the server.

Yes random world drop FTW, I can make these on the horde side of Medivh...Dropped for me while doing my last "The not-so-friendly skies" quest right before getting exhalted with the netherwing and getting the first of my 3 Netherdrakes. Dropped off of a Dragonmaw Transporter, it IS a world drop, so no farming for it.
I learned it, but have seen that this has sold for as high as 2300g, normally about 1500g on average, depending on server and side.

Found these farming Mote of Air in Shadowmoon off Enraged Air Spirits. Sadly two weeks later I have yet to sell it even at 200g buyout.

Dropped off of a mob in Shadow Labs right in front of Murmur. Crafting this on Magtheridon. PST Wickedcool.

I was really lucky to get this. I got invited by a friend into a group that was cleared to the 3rd boss. Downed him, then picked this up off the mob in front of Murmur, then won a Primal Nether off of Murmur and a large prismatic after we d/e'd two pieces of the Oblivion set that dropped at the same time.

reading lots of these LW pattern threads i noticed a significantly large proportion of "world drops" seemed to be coming from a few sources.

So i decided to give a few of the more common mentions a try.
Essentially i was "farming world drops". lmao.

two 2 hour stints on the talbuk in Nagrand and nothing. Day three, got this one after 3 1/2 hours.

had this drop on a SV rep run, was on an alt so i didn't roll, the hunter who won now has it in the AH, after he said he needed it. /cry

p.s. i know its not nice to roll on stuff if you're not on your main, but my hunter could've already learned the pattern, & the guy isn't even using it, makes me pretty ticked off. could a situation like this count as a ninja?
