This is a supposed Black Temple drop since it's been first implemented in the PTR v0.1.0 (pre-release of v2.1.0).

Actually, this specific thing is NOT a Black Temple drop.

It drops of Al'ar the Phoenix God, which is a boss in the instance Tempest Keep.

Very nice upgrade for shadow priests. Nice int for more mana, good dmg and no crit.

Indeed, great ring for Shadow priest or Afflication Warlock. Got it the other week on my SP. Other classes might get some use out of it, but am sure Mages, elemental shamans, destro locks etc would prefer rings that boost their crit.

Looking for a ring to surpass my Headless horsemen signet, any suggestions?

ring of the fallen god is +37dmg and +8 spell hit
w/12 stats

you're halfway through the content in BC to get a sidegrade. at the very least they could have made it a pvp ring with like 32stam 10int or resilience
it doesn't do its job for pve or pvp

the cloth bracers that drop are hawt this is not

heads up vs. a heroic epic from one of the easier heroics (Cobalt Band of Tyrigosa) you kinda get a sense of how crap this ring is, even without comparing it to other raid drops and rep rewards.

if you're too lazy, the difference between the two is 5 intellect, 5 stamina and 2 spell damage. small upgrade between a TK drop and something you can get in a weekend with blue and green wearing pugs.

Of course if your character benefits from spell hit or spell crit and you value those near pure damage, you probably own two better rings anyway (the Magdetheron ring and a revered/exalted Violet Eye ring).

This ring is in serious need of a buff.

and on another note the cobalt band droprate is very low, that, along with the fact that most non guild and/ or crappy geared MT heroic groups will disband before shaffar or lots earlier even 95% of the time, doesnt make it all that unfair.
