Assuming the hit chance calculations I read on wowwiki are correct, this gun is a nice replacement for Sunfury Bow of the Phoenix (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28772) for Dwarven hunters.

The +5 gun skill gives +2% hit chance on boss level mobs, adding the 17 hit rating on the gun itself gives a total of +3%, which makes replacing some other gear easier (for example Gridle of the Prowler for Belt of the Black Eagle).

As for low dps (34 rap lose compared to Sunfury), this can be offbalanced by using Adamanite Shells (6 dps gain).

It's a pity Blizzard favours trolls by making the staggering majority of raid-class ranged weapons bows (each 'tier' top ranged is a bow, Sunfury -> Serpent Spine Longbow -> Bristleblitz Striker). On top of that it seems Blizzard made pvp "fair" by making arena ranged an xbow - no racial benefit for anyone :/

not a great weapon when it comes to stats but the top end damage is the 2nd best for guns.

This is the best (stat wise) ranged weapon for rogues up into the BT/MH. And with the buff thats upcoming for it (+1 agil +2 hit rating) it may be the best ranged slot for rogues all together.

Of course I'd still pass for the hunters, but once they get it (it drops a lot) rogues go snatch one.

As a dwarf hunter I was aiming for that gun long time.
But with incoming patch 2.4 Barrel-Blade Longrifle
is going BoE and can be bought from AH if your guild is not able to kill Doomwalker... So, now I'm thinking of what's better of these two, lol.

For a dwarf you will probly keep it till sunwell bows drop +1% more crit is alot of dps

By the time a hunter is getting this item to drop they should already be hit capped. And ignoring the now-available Crossbow of Relentless Assault (which is far superior to this), this item is hardly an upgrade over the Sunfury Bow of the Phoenix. A little higher DPS (which is the main upgrade, as steady shots rely on weapon DPS and do not benefit from the DPS bonus of arrows) and one more agility than the bow. But 34 less attack power (factoring in that one agility, it's a loss of 33 attack power).

With almost all end bosses dropping bows, I'm glad there's atleast one great gun out there for us dorfs ;)

It's only marginally better then Sunfury Bow of the Phoenix, and considering the long and hard attunement for The Eye, and that this drops of a boss that is a lot harder then the prince from Karazhan, this item has pretty lackluster stats.

Imo it could use a buff of maybe 3 dps or so, that way it will actually be a decent upgrade to people.

im really disspointed in this guns stats, obviously as a dwarf it is noticeably better than the sunfury bow, however it isnt significantly better which imo being from A'lar it should be.

This is a hunter weapon all the way if you disagree you dont deserve too play wow!

Dwarfs have gun specialization which means that they prefer guns over Xbows or bows because there skill can be raised and they can do more damage with that gun. Its almost like taking a shield away from a tank and telling them to tank without it!

Alright since apparently nobody has said this I will.

This is a good MM hunter gun because of the 2.9 speed. If a BM hunter takes this he either has crap or needs to learn what guns work best for BM. I have a wolfslayer sniper rifle 2.7 speed and wouldn't pay more than 10dkp for this. Its either a MM gun or rogue/fury warrior gun imo. The only upgrade to a WOlfslayer for a BM hunter is the barrel blade long rifle which is 2.6 off doomwalker.

As a BM hunter i don't appreciate the blanket statements about this being the best gun for hunters i wouldn't want this unless i had a whole lot of haste gear.
