It's the best cloak for mages of any kind curentully in the game,the only cloak that could rival it is the cloak that drops of the Illidari Council,which has less spelldamage but more crit,i guess it depends on what your specced

Only ones i can see to get real benefit from it are affliction warlocks or shadow priests who are already on spell hit cap.

Yeah, but even Affliction Warlocks get some benefit from spell crit. About 35-40% of my damage comes from Shadowbolting while my DoTs are rolling. This cape is good, but I'd still take others before it. If nothing else, using the Ruby Drape of the Mysticant would be just as good or better, allowing me to stack less Spell Hit elsewhere.

Blizzard itemization rewards people that take items with lots of different stats on each item. With only three stats on this, it's an inefficient use of the item budget, which is something I try to avoid. :)

For classes that get more benefit from dmg than with crit, this cloak is awesome. Ok, affliction warlocks do some shadow bolts, and we moonkins do some starfires, but I prefer 1 spell dmg before 1 spell crit rating, always. So when I'm hit capped, I'll use this cloak instead of the Prince one.

Also, constant damage > burst damage.

For elemental shamans, fire magi and destruction warlocks, of course, would prefer a cloak with a bit of crit ^^

dmg = dmg? who cares if u do dps in a sinus as long as u do the same dmg?

I'd say yes if u sau lots of people underestimate DoT damage, but I would not go so far as saying constant > burst

I'm surprised to see the comments here - seems a mixed view on what people like and don't like in regards to their stats.

As far as I'm concerned, (as a shadow priest) this cloak is the best one available to me before Hyjal/BT when I'll be aiming to get the Nethervoid Cloak ( https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=32590 )

seems like everyone is forgetting that this drops from TK, not BT!!! BT is ALOT harder to raid. So stop whining about which is better and balance the fact that this drops from an easier raid.

Actually FuryBeast, Kael'Thelas is thought to be possibly the hardest boss in the game for guilds to beat, for the simple fact that the gear that your raid has when you get to Kael is JUST good enough to beat him. Alot of guilds in general are stuck at 5/6 in SSC and 3/4 in TK b/c Vashj and Kael are so very hard in respect to your raid progression. So when Solia says that you will only be wearing this cloak for a short while that is not so far away from the truth, b/c when guilds finally start beating Vashj and Kael alot of time they can just walk through the first few bosses in BT and MH with relative ease. At least that has been what I have seen.

This is a nice cloak, but the nethervoid cloak is definitely better for both locks and shadowpriests.

The second screenshot above is the true look of the cloak, needless to say. The pink/gold color of it, combined with the somewhat unique pattern (the pepe's tanking cloak shares the same graphics), really makes you wonder if it's good looking or not (I stare at it constantly, seems mystifying).

To sum this cloak up: one of the best in game if you're into general spell damage, and like the other poster above said, getting the Nethervoid Cloak if you're a lock or shadow priest might prove more difficult. I'm a sucker for general spell damage, so I grabbed these. However, if you're into crit, Cloak of the Illidari Council off of... well.. the Illidari Council might be better, though much harder to obtain. The extra stats and 2 extra dmg of this cloak compared with the Illidari cloak, though, makes the Illidari cloak a small enough upgrade that I'd gladly pass it to guildies who need it more. That said, great for any spell damage freaks (a category of which I belong in).
