even if Druids do not benefit from +dagger they aren't to bad for tank-Bears.

pritty high armor, some stam and close to 4% evade
29 agi = 29 atp + 54 direct atp = 83 atp = more aggro for Bears
29 agi ~~ 1,5% crit = more aggro for Bears + more rage

more aggro ==>> you rougs can dish out much more dammage without fearing to pull aggro form your tank ;)

I'll never say "need" if a rouge likes em!
but I don't supose many rouges whant's em :). there are much better shoulders like T4/T5/Arena etc.

Slotted bonus = +2 agi.

Still the same ol' brown/red bloodfang model. I guess I'll stay with my Merciless shoulders with my crit gems for now.

Besides the +10 weapon skill in daggers, this shoulder is the best choice even for any non-dagger rogues out there before T5 shoulders.

Despite the fact that Void Reaver seems to be easier than Hydross.

I have problem with my eyes or this item doesn't actualy increase dagger skill? In Skills window it shows just 350(+10)/350, just like for swords and unarmed. And that +10 is from the Weapon Expertise talent.

killed hydross 10 times now and still haven't seen these shoulders... Even with the increase to 3 epix since 2.2 patch... I know it's really random how loot drops, but stuff like this is frustrating...

The second I give up on these and loot T5 from loot reaver you'll see these drop :( damn you murphy!

If what I just read on the forums is correct;

"*Weapon skill will be converted into weapon expertise on a 1:1 ratio.
*Weapon expertise rating will be a 4:1 conversion to expertise points (just like old weaponskill rating)
*Weapon expertise will reduce your chances to be dodged/parried by 1% for every 15.6 rating
*The talent Weapon Expertise in the combat tree currently still gives 10 points on the PTR
*Items with +skill rating on the PTR have been adjusted to +expertise, specific weapon requirements are no longer needed "

I will be even more delighted about these shoulders than before (I'm a sword rogue, they give +dagger skill) since they cater to the other types of weapons aswell.

But there is no mention to + to weapon expertise. I fear they have ruined my dagger shoulders. So is it just not in the tool tip or have they completely removed the +weapon skill or expertise rather from the shoulders?

In order not to see Dodges from bosses anymore, you'd need 88 Weapon Expertise rating, excluding Weapon Expertise in the Combat tree. With WE, you'd only need 49. It would also make the 41 Ulti in Combat somewhat less useful (but apparently, everyone will be speccing Hemo in 2.3 anyway).

Also, weapon expertise completely negates a hit rating of the same value:

10 Hit rating is 0,63% Hit
10 WE rating is -0,64% target dodge

The outcome would be roughly the same, 0,63% more connected hits, until you reach the WE cap.

For Enhancement Shaman, this is likely the best in-game, due to zero availability of expertise on Mail plus it has a good socket.

Certainly better than Tier 6 Shoulders, since it "wastes" itemization points on mana per 5 seconds.

Yeah, after doing the calculations... These are the best Enhancement Shoulders in the game... Because Expertise is so valuable to melee classes, and there is no mail with expertise available. These are a nice candidate for an Epic 10str gem...
Calculated from my current gear... these are 201.45 EP... Tier 6 clocks in almost 40 points lower at 163.8.
If you only want to wear mail, your next best choice is "Shoulders of the Hudden Predator"

will give you 20.04 expertise or 5.01% dodge/parry reduction, which is almost exactly the cap for lvl 70 mobs.

Honestly, these shoulders are the best for Rogues who still use Mutilate for raiding. The crit and expertise are extremely nice. A lot of people neglect this spec due to it's massive energy dumping and forcing you to use daggers, yet, it's been proven that rogues who know what they are doing, rotation-wise, can drop over 1k dps in Kara/ZA gear with Malchazeen (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28768) and The Mutilator (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=34952).

Your best bet for gemming this would be a 4hit/4agi gem or 5hit/5agi to add to your needed cap of 300 hit.

What in Gods Name would a hunt want with dodge..Save pvp but even then you can find way better +resilience / pretty much any other stat gear. These shoulders are halfway decent but KZ has comprable for rogues anyday if not better.

Yeah, because having mail will keep that raid boss from 1shotting you.. NOT. If a hunter use leather its nothing wrong with that, mostly because leather > mail in most cases.

Honestly I think this rivals the deathmantle shoulders if you are a dagger rogue. Compare the stats.

The only thing you really miss out on is one agi, 11 armor, 9 stam and a blue socket. But you get 4 more attack, more crit, and the dagger skill increase which will improve crit and hit rating. Very comparable in my opinion. And why would a hunter want this? It's leather with a dagger skill increase. How many hunters melee? These shoulders have dagger rogue all over them.

Well it's true that you can't dps if you are dead but these seem pretty mediocre......drop the dodge and dagger skill and throw some +hit or crit rating on these imo.

Don't forget there r plenty of feral droods on ze streets ;-) , so dodge is pretty leet for them when they tank :)

Well as a rogue I would much rather pass these to a tanking druid in need(I don't really know what other options they have for tanking shoulders. I do not keep up to date on druid gear.)even If I had the dkp. Rogues have other/better options for dps that are much easier to obtain.

p.s. - This is not intended to start any fights about who gets what gear. Thats up to you and your guild.

They took the dodge rating off during the patch, made it crit. they changed alot of epics, but not all.

Just got these tonight on the Ahn'Qiraj EU server alliance side.

Few points:

As has already been commented, there is no longer a dodge chance on these, the desrciption provided by thottbot with the crit chance is correct.

The picture is out of date, it shows these shoulders as having the same skin as the Bladed Shoulderpads of the Merciless from the Chess Event in Karazhan, not they share the skin with tier 5.

In my opinion, these are as good as the tier 5 shoulders (the only noticeable difference is the fact that the tier 5 has a second (blue) gem slot), with these having slightly higher attack power and crit chance. Plus, you won't burn your DKP fighting with paladins and shamans competing for the tier 5 token.

Thats my two cents, whisper me in game if you disagree.

for pvp these are better than the chess shoulders but for pve i would have to disagree sure you get more crit and ap from these but in pve hit is where its at and in that department the chess shoulders are better.

I was running with Mantle of Perenolde 2nd or 3rd time in SSC (no luck with chess or High King) and these dropped.

Other rogue in raid had T5, so I had a nice freaking upgrade.

Unfortunately, I'm trying to get the Talon of Azshara and switch out of daggers, but even with losing the benefit from the dagger stat, these are great shoulders.

yeah, these increase your dagger skill by... 2. A whopping .08% to hit and crit. And only if you are daggers. Keep in mind, one talent point gets you 5 skill. One +hit gem gets you better stats than this piece of crap. The only things these do that other gear can't is decrease your chance to parry.

Hopefully with 2.3, these will turn into expertise skill which does.... who knows?

These are the 7th Best Druid Tanking Shoulders in the game at this time. Worth considering giveing pririty to your Tanking Druids

The bigger picture is this .... They are 3rd best dpsing shoulders for feral druids. Not only that but they are easily 3rd
S3>T6>Stranger>T5
With very little difference between s3 t6 and stranger but significant upgrade over t5. Also consider the fact that T5 provides a nice 2 piece PVP bonus and an almost worthless 4 piece the only two decisions are these.

Will I be getting T6 or S3 shortly (For 99% of the population that is a straight up NO)?

Do I need to keep my Malorne shoulders for the 2 piece t4 bonus? Answer is most probably yes.

However for me I use t4 gloves and legs to gain 2 piece t4 so I would gladly snaffle these shoulders up should they drop.

BTW Just a little thing that irritates me. Now I know that alot of the people on these boards will never see these drop as they will never enter this raid instance so when they start throwing in their 2 cents as to who should get this it can get a little annoying.
Basically the deal is this. Your guild will directly or indirectly decide who gets these. NOT you. If your guild gives these as priority to rogues over feral druids then that is their business. If you roll a dkp or suicide kings system and the druid wins over the rogues then basically I say this... Save your dkp for gear which you really need or else QQ to your guild for having a dkp system which doesnt work in your favour. Please do not QQ on these forums about stuff.
