Recieved at the end of a Karazhan quest line recieved at Honored. The last of which you have to kill the Prince in Karazhan. Great for Heroic Botanica where arcane resist is necessary to tank the mechanical guys.

This item is probably strictly for PvE. Don't see any reasoning behind players stacking up the Arcane Resistance in PvP to be resistant to Sheeps and CS while completely nerfing their other stats when PvP'ing.

Yes, this is primarily a PvE item for dealing with the mechanicals in Tempest Keep or the Curator in Karazhan. (You do need to have killed the Curator at least once already in order to get this, but it will help your tank and your "arcane bolt eater" as you continue to farm the instance.)

It probably won't get all that much use in PvP, but it is one of the few trinkets with stamina (other than the Jewelcrafting and Engineering ones), so that might make it interesting to some people.

As a shadow priest I would say that 18 stam is nothing to laugh at for PvP. I might give up a whole 2% crit with an on use function of one of my trinkets or 30-40 spell damage etc but come on... it's a free 18 stam. I also do see a lot of noob mages spamming arcane missile in battlegrounds. Off topic, anyone know what this D/E's into? :P

18 Stamina for PvP is very interesting, some sheep resist is just a funny bonus.

With the stamina upgrade, I now use this trinket exclusively in my tanking set, along with the old Impeding Scarab from BWL (it's STILL too good to replace).

The high amount of stamina is too good to pass up, and arcane damage is pretty abundant in TBC so the resistance is nice especially since tanking gear doesn't have resistances built into them anymore.

You dont need to be honored with the Violet eye to get this as above poster claimed. I just got this on my priest, and even with the 3k rep you get from turning this quest in, I didn't get honored. I't the longer chain involving killing shade etc that requires honored reputation.

I would guess that the main purpose of this is to start gearing characters up for later raids.
Just as the Blacksmithing and Jewelcrafting plans that include a lot of Frost Resistance are intended to give you a base FrR for Serpent Shrine Cavern, this is intended to give you a head start on your Arcane Resistance necessary for The Eye.

As someone else on these boards put it:
Fire is to Molten Core
as
Arcane is to The Eye
(or Frost is to SSC)

A perfect trinket for every raid member to use at Solarian to take the edge off her arcane missiles. If your guild is thinking about trying her, make sure everyone has one of these.

regardless of what others may say i still find this item useful in areans, granted the arcane resistance isn't that useful ( though i is marginally useful for resisting being poly'd) the additional 36 stamina is extremely handy for when every hitpoint counts in arenas

Funny, this trinket has proven useful with the release of sunwell for Kalecgos. Due to the way resistance mechanics work, wearing this and bit more arcane resistance can mitigate a lot of the damage from the AoE arcane blast which is EXTREMELY helpful for guilds learning kalecgos. It can help healers a lot.

If you reference http://www.wowwiki.com/Resistance, This item + the Druid buff pretty much tops the first tier in DR for 73 Raid Bosses, not too shabby considering it is Only one item slot, a trinket at that. Unless its a balls out Timed fight having some Arcane DR on fights that could use it can be quite handy.

Me and my guild killed Prince a couple of houres ago. Now we got this one. I don't see why there is so much arcane resistance. Only boss I know off is Curator, but we never needed any arcane resistance with that boss.

A Very handy trinket in my opinion there are tons
bosses who do spell cast arcane damage in karazhan one in particular is shade of araan since the rogues dont try to kick this spell your taking maybe five or four arcane missles to the face so you want as much resistance as possible!

And may i remind you that he does this to random people in the raid so there is the chance youll get targeted twice and bam! GG

There are some new quests and what not comming out very soon and Arcane Resist will be in demand. Also, do some research into what's down the road in TBC. This Trinket is gonna be needed and you would be a fool to toss away 45 Arcane Resist.

If you take into account for example Mechanar regular or heroic the resistance helps tons other single bosses and places it will be benefitial such as the Talon King in Sethekk. Granted it is not usable all the time but this will be the item that puts my tank past 365 arcane resist and the bombs and stuff in Mechanar will be so much easier on the healer. Reducing on average the arcane damage i take by 75%.

I believe The Eye has a few arcane damage bosses such as Void Reaver and High Astromancer Solarian.

Great PVP trinket, high stam and arcane resist for sheeps silences etc.

Also not too bad for curator shade and illhoof as a health/resist boost.

As said by everyone else, its good to have for The Eye and if you want to be "safe" and "secure" you can use it inside Karazhan also (Not exactly needed though)

It's worth using in one trinket slot for Void Reaver for melee, but if ranged gets hit by orbs, you're stupid and don't deserve your T5 shoulders.

It's a must for High Astromancer Solarian.

Btw Netherspites netherbreath also does arcane damage, and that hits for 2-3k and he likes doing it to the same area twice.

Yep the Stam boost is nice, and this thing is fun in PvP when it resists a Sheeping attack! Couple that with Goblin Rocket Launcher +45 Sta and you are health'd up with some fun options ahead of you~!

As weird as it is, I use this trinket for PvP along with the Insignia of the Horde trinket (I'm a level 70 mage). A lot of trinkets just don't impress me when it comes to PvP. For casters, most of them come with 30-40 damage or 20-30 crit which isn't too deal breaking when it comes to match ups. But with this, 360 hit points could mean life or death added with Arcane Resist for sheeps/counterspells. The only other trinket better than this for PvP is Spyglass trinket out of SSC and mayhaps the trinkets from the BG Vendor (though they cost a ridiculous amount of honor).

Do not vendor this!
Arcane resistance is very useful for several fights in Tempest Keep and Sunwell.
This is probably THE best items to wear in those fights without giving up too much else
