This does indeed have an equip level of 70, but according to the GMs this is working as intended, as little weight as that carries. How do I know? A boar dropped it for me :/

The drop rate is quite high, a guildie found it, and my friend found one the same day. And the day after, i found one. It seems like a world drop though, since my friend got it from a random mob, and i found it in an instance.

Spoke with a GM. Gave me the "We are aware of this issue..." line. So it would appear that they know about it. Dropped at Zeth'gor for me off one of the guards. Thought it was odd a lvl 70 req item would drop off a lvl 61 mob.

You know, if they get around to fixing this (should be Requires Level 61) it would be an excellent mace for Rogues at that level, particularly Hemo.

This item is supposedly mis-labeled. In the upcoming patch it will become a level 61 item to use, not level 70. Otherwise they'll increase the stats, because it certainly doesn't meet typical level 70 stats. Likely though they'll just lower the required level to use it.

I kinda dig the idea that BoEs should be "cheap" instance replacements; I got this blue mace off some random mob while levelling in Zangarmarsh (at lv62ish, didn't know I could find lv70 loot then), and since my main is a rogue and maces are already good if they've got the right DPS and all (very nice for PvP too with the talented stun spec), but the DPS sucks. I can't word it otherwise, a blue mace that requires lv70 should have at least 10 more DPS than this thing has.

This weapon is a must for any enhancement shaman.
Dual wielding these maces will make you a grinding monster until you hit 70 and get some upgrades.

Thats completely untrue I'm afraid.

Its been proven time and again that to provide the highest possible WF uptime that the ideal weapon speeds for an enhancement shaman are 2.60/2.60, 2.70/2.70 or a 2.70/2.60 mix. DW'ing these is a highly viable tactic until the level 70 instances are reached or upgrades found via the AH.

Well i have to say this is a really good weapon, especialy if you have dual wield (shamans, rogues, warrs). I have 2 of these on my lvl 61 shaman and i can do uber dmg with stormstrike. I got both on ah one for 20g and one for 60g. Recommended for shamies!!

I have 2 of these in the bank for when i hit lvl 61 :D when you hit 65 you can do the ring of blood quest in nagrand to get a good mainhand fistweapon, and these 2 weapons will last till lvl 70 :)

Just got one today from a mob in Blood Furnace.

The stats say its definitely a ENH shaman weapon. Nice and slow for higher top end damage.

I got kinda suprised when I saw that this weapon were for lvl 61... Cuz when I looted it, right after TBC was realesed this was a lvl 70 item... And I sold it for ~~30g at ah. Now I see that this would be worth around ~100g when TBC was realesed...

This weapon is ideal for warrior whirlwinding, sunders, heroic strikes, and cleave. great generator of threat and damage.

The stats on it are great, it's slow speed however really make it work beautifully for hammering out those hits.

Definitely worth buying one for ench shammy, rogue and fury warrior. Two are nice too but not really needed as you can just fill it with quest items (OH do only 50% damage ) and at 65 you get fist MH from Ring of Blood anyway.

All in all you will use it as MH until 65 and as OH until 70 (especially as ench shaman because weapon itemization sucks for them).

I looted mine last night,i was doing my quest for the Marshfang Slicer Blades and i killed on of this Marshfang Slicer's and looted this baby.But i dont know shall i use it for my rogue btw i am a sub.. rogue or shall i sell it on Ah ?

I got mine in hellfire peninsula. It dropped with a set of great green healer gloves. I was amazed. Anyway, it's going to replace my mainhand sword when I ding 61 in 40k xp or so. It must have been changed because the level requirement is now 61. Anyway, I was excited to see it.

Got is as drop today and thought the lvl req was kinda odd so I asked a GM about it. According to him it's a known bug and will be fixed in an upcoming patch. The lvl req should be lvl 60.

its an offhand tech for duel weilders obviously....yeah probly underpowered but the tech bonuses are insane, i dunno its still a sweet item.

I bought two for 20g a piece b/f patch and just sold one post-patch in the first 8 hrs I posted it, 120g BO! Seems to me it's a bit overrated at the level requirement part. Even any of the greenies from Outland seem better at first glance. Wouldn't propably use this when being level 70, heh.

This is the response I got from a GM after suspecting the mis-label and reporting it:

My report:

Issue Reported: I have a new item from Outland called the Fist of Reckoning. It came from a level 60+ zone, hellfire ramparts, and it has a required level of 70. It's stats seem to be a little underpowered for 70 as well, and I am just assuming it has been mis-labeled as a level 70 item, since it came off a level 62 or 63. Is that possible? and if so is there going to be a fix to relabel it as a level 62 item or so?

This dropped for me in outland at my second kill (World drop). Jan. 16. in the evening.
I said to my self....WTF! LoL

But the level 70 requirement part sucks, since it's not that good, and no1 wants to buy it..but it's cool.

I Got one in a chest in the ramparts. I about @#$% my pants when i read the lvl. after comparing to what my warrior tank in my grp was already using (at lvl 60). I thought phhh. Im sending this to our GB. I doubt anyone will pay the 200G this site clames its worth.

I submitted a bug on this item because it didn't make sense as to a lvl 70 item (with lvl 60 stats) dropping in a lvl 60 instance. I got a response from a Blizzard GM who told me I should just sell it. Don't you just love the GM's?

Bank this item if you have it.. it dropped for me too.

Definately bugged. Lvl 70 items have around a 118 or so item level. The item level for this item is 88, wich is a level 61 or so.

Bank it till the bug gets fixed, then it will be a decent mace for a rogue that doesnt have BWL/AQ/Naxx or HWL weapons. Could make some decent coin from it

According to an in game GM the level req for this is incorrect. Upcoming patch will adjust the req to lvl 60 or so.

Blizzard now admits the item is mislabelled, and should have been a lvl 61 requirement. It will be fixed next patch.

this item will be level 60 or 61 in the near future so hold onto it until then, because it will sell for much more. Until then i've seen it sell for 15-30g it wouldnt be a bad idea to buy one and save it to sell later or use later.

So, apparently this item was mistakenly given as a level 70 req (at least for the time being).

I want to know if that affects what it disenchants into.

If this weapon disenchants into the same types of materials as real level 70 blue weapons (whatever that is), then it just might have a use after all.

It's either a 60 typo (awesome 60) or a 74dps typo. Either way, it's absolute junk for 70. I got it off a 63 in Zangramarsh 4hrs after BC came out. I was ecstatic to get it at the time, being mace spec rogue. Until I saw some items in AH, which changed me into a sad panda. Theres one in AH on Daggerspine now for 20g BO which I'm tempted just to get another and DE them both heh

EDIT: DE'd it, for science. Got a Large Prismatic Shard off it. 10g worth for the Shard. No idea if that mace sells on AH at all.

Saw this last night in the AH right after I'd hit 61, doing a 'usable item' 1h Mace search. Grabbed it right away, as it was significantly better than what I was using. Gonna grind some HFR to see if I can't get another one to dual-wield until something better comes along!

This wep is sick with my sub rogue, iv imp spec ambush and i have a dag in the main hand for that but with this thing i off hand im hitting 240 like everytime its like a free sinister strike, i suggest using this mace for rogues main hand or off-hand it'll help no matter what, and crrazy dps for dungeons

Lvl 61 pallie using this with a shield. Good all around questing weapon, and looks cool with the pulsing void.

I get a lot of compliments on it.

Yeah there are better swords but I got it as a drop and it was an upgrade to the old sword I'd been using.

I have noticed an increase in my crits, it his for mid-high 200's quite often.

Dropped for me off a buzzard that aggroed me when I went after a Fel Iron deposit -

was stunned to see a blue in the loot as I have never seen more than a feather and maybe a meat used for cooking from one before.

Definite improvement over my 1h in dps and tech stats, but my 1h has nice stamina and strength, so I'm not sure which is better.

I could also use some gold so I am uncertain if I should sell or equip.

Got this a couple days ago from I think was some sort of Void Walker type mob.

Was so chuffed when I looked at it and it is a clear upgrade from my Krol Blade, I grinded from 0 - 305 with 2x lvl 1 maces in Deadmines which didn't take too long and respeced to Maces.

This bad boy hits like something evil, looks great too, the stuns from the mace spec are great aswell.

yeah i logged on for like 15 mins and went down to void ridge started farming for some quest and it dropped this is a great 1h for a 61+ especially if he or she is a warrior mace spec'd; seeing how this is the best mace for at least 4 more levs the mace spec warrior will love this

im a Rogue, combat < assassin, and although slow for the offhand it makes for a slower, more calculated, high crit technique than my usual flurry of dual dagger attacks....

i imagine a dual weild rogue spec would b a little slow but would hit some awesome crits and dmg... plus dual hit-rating bonus would mean those babys would rarely miss :)

at first i didnt think i'd use it - but train up ur maces then see thats my best advice

Bought this for my enhancement shaman(50g, Aszune). Have compared it on Armory, and there are almost no options better than this for a shaman in the 61-63 level bracket. DPS, + hit and + crit. Sweet.

I bought one of these for my enhancement shaman and was looking for the 2nd one.
Then i also found an Axe of the Legion on the AH, but those only really shine when dual wielded. (Axe skill rating on them)
Since the fist of reckoning is a mace, i was looking for another Axe of the legion to replace it.

But i just found out that in patch 2.3 weapon skill rating is being changed into "Expertise rating" which works for any type of weapon.
I'm probably going to use the Axe of the legion in my mainhand and the fist of reckoning in the offhand. =)

Not sure what enchants yet though, i'm thinking of 2x 20str (or also called Potency).

This wep is awesome! I got this at level 61 off of some hellboar and it works great in MH. i recommend putting a dagger in offhand with a under 1.90 speed for poison procs.

This wep also sells for around 20g on the AH (im on the realm spinebreaker other realms are probably different)

The best 2.7-speed offhand in phase 1 of TBC Classic.
Relevant because that means it is bis for every enhancement shaman who wants to wield a blacksmithing 1h in their mainhand.

The reason is that enhancers want their MH and OH to hit in a specific rhythm, and having two weapons with the same speed means you only have to set that up once per (tank & spank) fight. According to sims, the benefits are worth a 5% DPS increase, outshining the benefits of other offhands with higher individual DPS but the wrong speed, assuming a certain level of overall gear quality.
