An incredible tanking ring, really. 360 HP and 10.56 defense skill. Definitely a nice find and should sell quite well on the Auction House as well. :-)

For other tanking rings though, I'd also suggest rings like:

and agreed priority does go to the warrior or paladin tank first, with them needing higher defence then us druid tanks

that said its still a reasonable ring for us fuzzy tanks as it frees up some of our slots that we don't have to put defence items in and allows us to put other stat's in there

From a warrior perspective, this is a fairly solid pre-Kara tanking ring, but I would say the Shermanar Great-Ring (Aran, https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28675 ) and the exhaulted Violet Eye ring (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=29279 ) are better from a 25man tanking point of view.

In these encounters, avoidance doesn't really help too much, since healers are spam healing you regardless of whether you take a hit or not, so stam and armour are key.

dropped from air elementals by alter of shadows in netherstorm. i stopped to make shadowcloth and decided to kill a few air elementals for motes (just the ones in sight... i had a few minutes to kill). 4 kills later, i'm feeling like it's my lucky day.

Got this off the scorpids in SMV while I was farming Air Elementals in the Northeast area. I'm also thinking it's a solid "sell this sucker" ring for the AH since quest rewards are comparable (Kara, etc)

Got mine as a random drop in heroic ramparts, not selling this one...Very solid warrior tanking ring, the stamina boost is exactly what we need, even after clearing the 500 def mark it is my ringchoice next to the exalted ring from violet eye. Always a good idea to carry different tankings to adapt to different encounters, and this is always on me.

Dropped for me off Raging fire soul at the elemental plateau, as a recently turned 70 Prot Warrior in mostly Blues with the odd Epic and Green, saving up for swift flying skill I had to ponder wether to AH or wear the ring. After a long ponder of 2 seconds it went on the finger.

I just got this from Herioc ramps run. However after initially thinking that will be a nice upgrade I am not sure now. I currently have https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=28407 and https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=29279.

I am around 528 defense already so losing the 1% dodge from the blue ring or losing the armour from the violet ring makes it hard to justify this ring over either.
My current dodge is around 17.5% after some recent changes to boost HP and Armour so cannot really afford to lower it anymore. At the moment I am farming Kara and starting Gruul now we have numbers.
I am sitting on 14.7k hp and 15.8k armour unbuffed atm.

Not sure what to do with it, use it if I get more dodge elsewhere, or sell it.
If Blizz added some armour to this it would be great.

Great tanking ring because of the stamina, stamina is so important this early in TBC to start doing raid content to avoid getting 2 shot often, and this may be a good choice over many epic tank rings that also have armor as well as stam and def.

i'm a warrior myself, switching between arms/fury and prot (one of guild's mt's), and i don't get what it is people see in this ring. there's really nothing exceptional about it. imo, there's a lot of blue regular instance drops that beat it, but i might just be sayin that cause i don't have one :P

Just depends on the players situation and what gear they already have and plan to get. If equipping this ring can mean getting rid of crappy yellow +8 defense rating gems in lieu of +12 stamina gems, while not losing any important dodge or parry, then go for it. That is if its still at a reasonable price. If your guild farms Kara like nothing then perhaps you should save your g or auction it if it drops.
