I imagine blizzard put this in as a KoT reputation reward because Scholomance groups are going to become very scarce come BC, hence it will be extremely hard to get this recipe through Scholo alone or even the auction house.

Even at 70, no one is going to want to run Scholo (even if it only takes 2-3) because the drop rate is so low...easier to just run the various CoT instances and get a guaranteed recipe for up and coming alchemists.

Level 70 druid, in blues , I could solo the entire scholomance in my tank gear :-)

So I don't agree, I got the recipe twice now solo'ing, and I think it's alot easier than doing Black Morass to you puke.
Pickup groups are just pain, and most others are to bored to go there.

Still waiting to try out BM on heroic, might make this recipe easier to obtain then.

I have been farming the Beast for the Ace of Beast and decide to go try for the Ace of Portals. This dropped off the Boss in the Alch lab on the first try. I am so happy I don't need the rep now to get this recipe. Theres quiet a few things you can get out of this instance so don't make the recipe the end all be all for this instance. lvl 70 enhancment shaman, lvl 70 fire mage & lvl 70 holy priest. We farm these old instance and get some good gold out of it.

the answer is yes, there is 2 recipes, one could be found before TBC that was a BoE sold for 300g about. After TBC blizz have made flask recipes easier to obtain by having them as exalted with certain factions.

So, there is 2 different recipes, one you can get with Exalted KoT, the other drops of drakki in UBRS with 2% drop chance, choose either way u want - i got lucky and bought mine for 20g.

You can buy Old World recipes for flasks of exalted with certain factions, and they can still be found BoE.

Just a note there is another way to get this. It just dropped for me from Ras Frostwisper in Scholomance while helping a pal with his warlock mount quest. Got lucky on the roll. The whole party was flipping over it.

if you do not have exalted with KoT, you cannot memorize the KoT faction purchased version of this recipe, you can obtain it thru someone else buying it and giving/selling it to you, but you cannot use it until you have your KoT faction at exalted. was curious myself, so i picked one up off AH to find out: you can't do it. =)

a lot of recipes in wow are bind on pickup, no idea why this one isn't, since it drops of one of the hardest 5-man bosses in the game.. o.O

Does this add dmg each hit with attacks like rain of fire and blizzard?

Yes it adds damage with each hit, note though it says adds 'up to' 150. Basically it's an add to your magical "attack power".

Got this thing off Ras Frostwhisper yesterday, got all the ingredients but it says it requires an alchemy lab. The one in UC doesn't work, where can i create that potion?

Don't forget the rogues favorite, Thistle Tea. I alway suspected high level recipes/schematics/etc might be BoP to make people work for them and not just buy the good stuff, but this is the first BoP recipe I've run into myself.

Robe of the Void pattern is BoE. It used to be BoP.

The blue patterns that you get from the DM North Cache are BoP. The Epic ones are BoE.

Some vendor bought pattern are BoP. Mainly those that require rep or quests to obtain.

This pattern is BoE.

Now quit $%^&*ing about BoE and BoP patterns

The main difference between flasks and elixirs is that the flasks last through death. So it's 2 hours of game time, no matter if you live the whole 2 hours or not..... very nice to have if you want to use it in AV or AB. Also nice for fighting Rag (in case you wipe for some unknown reason)

The alchemy lab isn't just in scholomance there is also an alchemy lab in Blackwing lair :) just for the info

And they sell for about 50g on my server.

And also the "up to X" type increased damage depends on how long it takes to cast the spell.Long casting spells will get the full effect.Shorter ones will have the damage increased scaled down in relation to the speed you can cast it.Channeled spells will have the damage divided by each hit.

Sold this recipe for 400g. At first I was very happy with the deal, but considering someone bought it out less then 20 minutes after I put it up on AH makes me wonder if it's worth more.

Got this from my first Scholomance run today. Friend offered to buy it for 300g but I passed. Figured it'd be more profitable to learn the recipe and sell the flasks individually.

Calculations were:

Crystal Vial = 0.3g
Mountain Silversage x 10 = 7.0g
Dreamfoil x 30 = 10.0g
Black Lotus = 5.0g

Flask of Supreme Power = 65.0g

(All these are AH prices on Aerie Peak server)

Comes out to be 65.0g - 22.3g = 43.7g.

43.7g profit per flask is insane, especially when I'm one of the very few suppliers on my server.

This just dropped for me yesterday of of Ras in Scholo. I've been farming scholo quite a bit for shards. I usually stealth up to rattle, get key, kill rasp, and reset instance. Its super fast getting shards this way so you can tell that i've passed by Ras many times and this is the first drop ive seen. This one was not BOP like some of the first posts say. I'll be selling it in the AH tonight :)

there are 2 versions of this, one requires Keepers exalted, one requires you to farm ras. the rep one is BoP, the one from ras is not.

Id say yeah its probably woth a few hundred gold atleast since its such a rare drop and its got some nice stuff going for it.

Did Scholo on my 66 warrior with my 2 70 friends, it dropped, no body really said anything about it, we just greeded it, I won, and could not believe the price on thottbot for it, I put for 425g, sold by the next day : )
