Any guesses as to what post-Kara content it's intended for? Maybe Lady Vashj? FrR just hasn't been needed in Kara that I've seen.

And if Lady Vashj (or any other TBC raid) is FrR gear, it's going to be quite a pain gearing up, as there is almost no crafted FrR unless you want to go back to Naxx. In general, it just worries me to see this single FrR BOE, without anything else to go with it... if we need a whole FrR set, where are we going to get it from? O.o And if we don't need a FrR set, this ring is sort of pointless.

I would assume this is probably a set up for Shade of Aran. While not necessary roughly 60% of Aran's damage is frost, having 80 or so Frost resistance can help mitigate 25% of that frost damage at least and increase survivability.

You also have to consider that they still might add additional rep rewards to be used for future content. Like how they did with NR and AQ.

From what i've read, Hydross (1st boss in Serpenshrine Cavern) requires some frost resistance, with one MT needing to max out his FrR (there's the new craftable Icegaurd set (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/npc=16388) to cater for this) and another to max out his NR. Additionally at least 2 offtanks are required for adds, with a mix of FrR, NR and Stamina gear. Whether or not anyone else in the raid needs any resistance gear for this encounter is unclear, although it seems a safe bet that some will be required later on in the instance.

But this is a very nice trinket for the frost tank on Hydross, in Serpentshrine.

indeed, where the natural ward was buffed in 2.1 from 12 stamina towards 28 stamina. This ring has remained unchanged. Blizzard have not yet confirmed that this has to be changed also, so .... frost tank ftl? :/

This ring is unique-equipped, so if your looking for ways to stack on Frost resist, you can only use 1 of these....

Hydros in SSC... one tank needs + frost resist when he is in frost form

you really need all the FR you can get for the hydross the unstable fight, (First boss in SSC) he has 2 phases that require 1 full NR tank and one Full FR tank, so this ring is actually quite usefull if your guild is at that point

yea...this ring is a MOST for MT in SSC...there's another one for nature res wich is just as important...this kind of epics are made for raiders, not for 5 party dungeons...

Why does this epic FrR ring have less stamina than greens six levels lower?

Well Nature Ward has +35 resist bonus too. So there is no reason why this ring should have more than half as much stam.
