Darkmoon Card: Madness

The Lunacy deck can be turned into to get the Darkmoon Card: Madness. The card gives 51 stamina and has an equip that whenever you land a killing blow on a target, you get a class-specific buff. The buffs are:

I have this and all i can say is that if you are farming with this it's good. Gose of every time like clockwork and gives all the stats different every time but they stack :> .

I have heard that the buffs are not class-specific, but actually depend on whether you use spells or physical attacks as the killing blow. This allows hybrid classes like druids to avoid getting buffs that would be useless to their talent spec.

It is generally cheaper to buy the individual cards rather than Decks.

The Cards go for 50-200g and the Ace is (on my server at least) 150-200g.

Rendered obsolete by the 2.4 patch for tanks. The commendation of kael'thas is fair superior and doesn't cost 1500g.

Would be most beneficial for Paladins and Druids because they can benefit from all 9 of the random power of madness effects. Not saying it won't be useful to other classes but you will only get the effects/buffs that you can use.

I absolutely love this trinket. The only problem is, I've never had Paranoia or Manic pop when I kill something! I've gotten the martyr complex, narcissism, delusional, and kleptomania. I'm a 70 hunter and I'm wondering if anyone is having the same problem!

I just picked the trinket up yesterday, 8/6/07, and currently only 4 buffs seem to be active. I use the trinket on my mage. The only buffs I've seen are +35 sta, +35 int, +41 spell dmg, and +35 crit. I have not seen the rabbit hole buff/debuff or the haste buff which are also listed to apply to mages.

The buffs can stack meaning I can have +35 int and +41 spell dmg going at once. If the same buff activates it just renews the timer. The buffs seem to be completely random and activate whenever I kill a mob, or another player, around my level.

On top of that the +51 sta is really nice to have especially in PVP.

I got this trinket, and it's just awesome for me as a lock. The buffs above is confirmed, but you haven't mention:

occasionaly on a killing blow your character yells in npcish style; This is Madness! I got pretty chocked but got a screenshot. Only happened me once though, and have gotten around 150~ KBs since I got this trinket I reckon.

To answer the question about stacking see the below post from another website.

Great trinket. I got this today procs everytime i get a killing blow. It will stack as long as the buffs are different so * Martyr Complex: +35 stamina will stack with * Meglomania: +41 damage/healing, but if the 35 stam buff procs for a second time it will just reapply the buffs duration not stacking with the 35 stam buff again.

I can see that there are several different procs that can be triggered by this trinket for each class (e.g. Dimentia and Narcissism for Warlocks). Now, I haven't seen any specific information, so could somebody tell me whether these procs (buffs) occur randomly or do certain ones maybe have a higher chance to go off than others?

And how often do the procs go off (what's the chance %)?

Also, what is everyone's opinion on this trinket versus the Blessings Deck (Crusade)? Is it on the whole better than the Crusade or not? If you had a choice between the two, which would you go for?

Well I am dissapointed that you have to be 70 to use it 62 would be awsome. should not let you turn in the quest till you can use it.
Do you yourself have to get the killing blow or can some one in your party get it and you will get the buff? If not How often does a Tank get the killing blow? Maybe good for grinding but that is only good for a short while because in most places after 70 you only get honor in certain instances at 70 how are you going to get exp? Then what happens when you become exhaulted? 51 Stam is nice but it takes up a Trinket slot. Sorry I made it for now will post again if I change my mind

I have 2 cards on my alliance 70 warrior and I just joined a new guild on my 64 horde mage and in the bank there are 2 more cards. I want to make the deck but I don't know what it would be best for... a mage or a warrior. My warrior is fury spec and I dont really have any plans on changing her. The 51 stamina is lovely for both but I think I would prefer to have it on my warrior... anyone have any thoughts on this?

The following things are true about this Darkmoon card:

1. This is arguably one of the best trinkets for farming in the game. You will always be landing the killing blows.

2. This is among the best trinkets for battlegrounds and/or the arenas.

The 'battlemaster' trinkets are probably a little better if you are skilled in knowing when to use them, although the difference isn't as great as you might think, and this is +510 health upfront, good for those who have trouble knowing when to use the battlemaster trinkets. If your race is Undead (or Forsaken), you may use this Darkmoon card in combination with the Battlemaster trinket for a very potent 1, 2, trinket punch (because you have the Will of the Forsaken racial ability). If you are Undead, this is really a trinket you should consider targeting. However, if you are not Undead, it would probably not be realistic for you to do so because you are going to NEED to use the Insignia of the Horde/Alliance to 'remove movement impairing effects'. Therefore, you will be choosing between Darkmoon Card Madness and the Battlemaster trinket, which will be paired with the insignia of the alliance/horde.

HOWEVER IF you have an open profession and have room for engineering, the Gnomish Poultrylizer and Goblin Rocket Launcher are similar in impact for the arenas. Engineering also allows you to get arguably the best PvP belt in the game, which absorbs 4000 damage. The cost of leveling engineering will be roughly the same cost as this Darkmoon Card.

3. This will be a highly desirable trinket to have when leveling once the new expansion is released as you will be getting those procs on your killing blows as you level all the way to 80.

4. This card is a highly attractive trinket for a mage because both the Goblin Rocket Launcher (mage's already have ranged attacks that deal big damage) and the Gnomish Poultrylizer (mage's already have polymorph) do not bring anything new to the table except for the stamina.

I got all the lunacy cards for 451 gold from AH, in several weeks, always checking for the lowest price:

Ace - 9g - Some noob made a mistake and put it 9g buyout (The usual price on my server is 100g+)
Two - 15g
Three - 15g
Four - 27g
Five - 75g
Six - 110g
Seven - 90g
Eight - 110g

The cheapest deck I've seen was 1200g so now I'm confused wheter I sould keep it for myself or sell it for a very good profit since I got all the cards on a low price:P
