This shield is actually pretty good for fights where you need Fire res and Shadow res. And not bad at all as a main shield actually.

Probably the only level-70 epic shield with resistances.
It has nice stamina and fire+shadow resistances come very handy for heroic instances and even 25-man raids (Tempest Keep and Hyjal/Black Temple come to mind).

All in all, a must-have for serious PVE.

One of the better shields in the game currently, it doesnt come with any block rating/def rating etc but it has decent armor comparable to Karazhan-class and above all it has resistance which seriously boost you in 25-man raiding and even in karazhan for encounters such as Nightbane etc.

Overall a very good shield, try get it if possible.

Got it tonight. Very nice indeed, will come in handy versus Nightbane and the Prince in Karazhan. Beyond that I'm not too sure, but it's nice to have anyway. Really wish they'd used a new graphic though.

Got it in a Heroic Mana Tombs run last night. While I appreciate not having to save my badges to buy the Azure Shield anymore, it does feel somewhat silly walking around Shattrath with a Skullflame Shield on my back.

This shield is pretty close to having two Dragonscale Shields in one item, namely: "of Shadow Protection" and "of Fire Protection". These lesser shields serve well until this beauty is picked up.

This has a lot of armor and block, more than crest of the sha'tar but i am not sure about the coldarra badge shield, but the res is definately nice

I think main point of this shield is fire & shadow resistance. If you search for fire / shadow resist shield you will get 3 / 4 results - and best of them is The Fel Barrier :)

I can think of a few battles where this would come in handy. But its lack of def. rating, additional block value/rating, dodge/block/parry rating and stam makes it a shield you only equip if the mood is right.

Good to see the old Skullflame model again though.

This is THE must have shield for elite tanks at endgame progression guilds.

There is a reason those 2 resistance are put in there.

Fel Barrier = Pimp for Black Temple

This shield would come in REAL handy for the Mother Shahraz fight, and definitely so for flame tanks on supremus or Illidan.
