Must be one of the gems added in Patch 2.1. Will be the best caster PVE dps gem out there when it is added, at least untill you got enough to max your hit rating (16%). For me as a mage I'm gonna farm these for a while me thinks.

This baby adds 0,83% to hit in itself.

For each quality level hit rating gems are the new best boss DPS gems by far, though. However they're totally useless when fighting anything that's not a "boss" (including adds on bosses).

The design for this gem (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=32296) is dropped by only two bosses (Azgalar and Kaz'rogal) in the raid zone Hyjal Summit. It is the epic version of Great Dawnstone (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=31861)

The gem, Lionseye (https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=32229,) is attained by trash mobs in Black Temple.

An almost worthless gem if you ask me. Why?

Epic gems have quiet a price tag on them, and it tends not to be entirely worth it until you're at higher gear levels. But, most caster gear has an excess of hit on it, especially at high ends.

This gem is very nice for myself being a PVP resto druid. I can put this in one of the many yellow sockets we get from pvp gear.
