They are "grenades" so I suppose you CAN throw them while moving. Like all the other grenades until today. If they were bombs you couldn't. At least I think so...

I can see these becoming extremely annoying when fighting a frost-mage engineer. It will give them a 3rd frost nova (assuming they have water elemental).

The full Materials for 10 ( 2x5 ) frost grenades are :

4 Fel Iron bars
1 Primal water
2 Netherwaeve Cloth
2 Elemental blasting powder ( 4 Powders = 2 motes of fire, 4 motes of earth)

double the radius (6yds) than normal grens plus you do not need to care about dots, i would say this is quite good against melee for any class to use (or good for melees to use against runners)

its good for all classes really who are in a spot like being attacked buy 3 or 4 people at once on battle grounds i find these even more so usefull in wsg and ab ect

On the 2.2 PTR the recipe for icy blasting primers takes 1 primal water, 2 cloth, and 2 elemental powder and makes TEN blasting primers. Again each blasting primer goes to make five bombs, so one primal water gives you 50 bombs. This change makes these bombs much more affordable and viable.

AMAZING item for frost mages if you have Shatter, saves lives for sure.

As of patch 2.2, you can now make 50 of these from a single Primal Water.. assuming you have the appropriate amounts of the other materials. Reduces the cost of these significantly, though.

The best grenade for kiting people, compared to Adamantite Grenade ( https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/spell=30217 ), the root does not break on any damage. Also, very useful to use these to level up, not the cheapest mats, but they are very useful.

Very good pvp item for warlocks.

Even as a frost mage, if you are fighting say a rogue and he pops CLoS to get out of your frost nova, are you better off using Adamantite Grenades instead? I'm assuming the CLoS effect has a 90% chance to resist the Frost Grenade effect as well, but probably wouldn't work against stuns.

Its something that should be tested really. Not all elemental damage counts as a spell. For example Judgement of Blood deals holy damage, piercing armour. But doesnt seem to count as a spell in such a sense that Cloak of Shadows does nothing to stop it.

No range given on the tooltip. Played around with stuff, I know it's more than 5 yards, but it doesn't look like a lot more than 5 yards. Somewhere around 6-8 yard radius?

Nice, easy craftable grenades that freeze targets in place. Like mages.
Primal water makes 2 icy blow primers which make 5 frost grenades each, so Primal Water is 10 grenades, every mote of water you collect is like 1 grenade.

Does anybody know if this stacks with the Mage talent "Shatter" (spells have 50% increased crit chance against frozen targets.

If so this would be amazing for frost mages because they would no longer need to wait on their frost nova cooldown for that sexy talent to take effect.

What happens to the enemy if I use this?
Does it stun them?
Does it root them like frost nova or entangling roots where they can still attack?
Or does it disorient them like rogue sap or gouge?

I mean, what's the difference? I might as well use fel iron bomb or thorium bomb since it's cheaper for pvp purposes.

i dont really see much point in these except maybe for frost mages...

Regular bombs you make do more dmg and also stun all targets...Atleast stopping them from attacking

I can honestly only think of these as good for players or mobs immune to stun

Wait, i got it! when you use these it tricks the enemy into thinking theres a mage around so they try to focus on them to avoid being PoM pryo'ed = )

I did not think a Rogue would ever use these until today when I could not vanish (cool down) and I got jumped by 3 mobs and one being a 70 elite. I dropped one at my feet and ran out of aggro range.

Also you have enough time to leave aggro without blowing your sprint in most cases. But with sprint you will get outta aggro range before the affect wears off. I love these now and always carry a few

As said before, Frost Mage usage.

Only expensive thing about these is the feliron:

Material required to make 50 of these

- 1 Primal Water (for 50!)
- 0.5 Mote of Fire
- 1 Mote of Earth
- 2 Netherweave Cloth
- 40 Feliron Bars

Rest of the mats for (50!) of these is pretty much 0

It could be usefull as a tank on certain ocasions like when a runner tries to go to another group.
you froze him to the ground and let the party kill him
(Shadow Lab comes to my mind and I know there are other places that this happens)
Not that it will be usefull on 100% of the instances but it might have its uses :) I'll give it a try

What makes these different from other bombs is the effect MAY be broken with damage.
