A better PvP neck than a PvE neck. Armor reduction on this neck stacks with similar S3 items better than the S3 honor necks.

Still quality due to high item level, but shines for Rogues and such in PvP.

i am fury warrior

still i have great difficulty to replace my pendant of the perilous with this one and lose almost 1% crit

i got to admit i still cant appreciate the armor pen compared with the raw stats

Fourth best overall necklace for physical damage specs. Sin'dorei/Guardian Pendants of Triumph follow closely behind.

I got these last night from trash during Hyjal. The stats are really nice especially since I have exucutioner on my MH now..that 70AP really helps boost my AP. Armor Penetration plus executioner is pure sex. Just gotta get more ArP.

As a hunter I'd have to say this would lean towards DPS warriors and rogues.

While you might initially think that armor reducing effects are best against high armor targets, you'll actually be getting more benefit against low armor targets because of the diminishing returns of damage reduction from armor. In other words, this will make a lot more of a difference against a clothie than against a warrior or pally.

wrong about the armour working's out...

it takes more and more armour to get a greater damage reduction the more armour you have...

so therefore the line is curved NOT linier.

To get the most use out of this item you would need to be hitting as many times as you can - in a sense this is better if ur making lots of smaller hits. Therefore a BM hunter would make much more use of this than a MM or surv hunter.

Definately rogues mainly here but at the end of the day its a great item and if ur rogues are rolling on the Kael one then....

I'm a hunter and this isn't a hunter neck. U get hunter necks are: Saberclaw Talisman from Shade of Aran in Karazhan and Telonicus's Mayhem from Kael'Thas in Tempest Keep. w0rd.

Appearantly this drops on MH trash too. Just had 5 epic drops just on Winterchill trash.

A hunter took ours, I passed as I'm not sure if I want this or the Choker of Endless Nightmares. What do you think is better for a hunter? Chance of ignoring 175 armor or 21 HR/27 CR? Think I'll go for the HR/CR.

First time we were in Hyjal this dropped on the 2nd wave of Rage Winterchill trash, i think it was on either a crypt fiend or ghoul. Went to me, an Enhancement Shaman :D

So Kael loot is better than Hyjal trash loot, how insightful u guys really are....

Serpentspine is vastly better than legionkiller for example.

This ain't nothing new.

Still if u'r a hunter umming and ahhing over what to replace ur kara neck with, and you havent got either the Vengeful Gladiators Hunter Axe or The Halberd of Desolation then go arena, the 2h is such a massive improvement over anything except desolation - its ridiculous.

The advantages given by the Kael neck are marginal really.

This serrated blades thingy is fine. It's not crap, but you can do better (if you bid high....)

Many guilds will be using dkp so its up to whatever classes want it as to whether they get it.

The Choker of Endless Nightmares is probably the best physical dps neck in the game due to having good Hit, Crit AND AP.

Hit IS as hunter stat to tell the nub rogue mentioned in a post further up. (However granted we dont need as much as melee)

It seems Armour Penetration is also a hunter based stat (as well as for other physical classes) if you notice that 5 of the 8 pieces of Gronnstalker all have ArmP stats on them!
As ArmP is a stat that gets marginally better the more you have then this neck isnt a bad choice if you dont need to worry about Hit cap or waiting for that elusive boss drop.

As it drops relatively frequently from trash then its up to you if you want to spend dkp on it or save it.
